This is a family owned business since the 1950s. Ive been coming here for +20 yrs, and they do excellent custom work. Over the years they have worked on my cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and Ive never had any problems with the work they have done. This is an amazing shop filled with a variety of automotive and motorcycle projects. You can just feel the history in this place, a must visit for every auto/MC enthusiast!

I stop by on July 7th to ask about getting an exhaust installed that was purchased on amazon. The guy came out and talked with me looked at what I had and looked under the truck to see what needed to be done and gave me a good price to install it. I went back July 8th to have them install it and it is no easy job considering the truck DOESNT COME WITH A DUEL exhaust from dodge. There amazing at what they do the exhaust came out better than if it was factory installed. I can’t say enough about this place it took a little longer than he anticipated but I knew going in it wasn’t going to be easy. Great place I had a good experience here, I came in early before they opened. told them what I thought was wrong they checked my car over and confirmed what was wrong. Gave me the price and how long it would take, I was in and out in 30 minutes. So happy to finally get my car fixed.

Dropped the car off at 8 am and picked it up at 10:30am. Car exhaust issue was diagnosed and fixed quickly and they didn’t try to overcharge. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in the Hampton roads area.

Called him requesting some exhaust work on a GT and he recommended I get some addl machine shop work (checks) beforehand - that would delay (perhaps even eliminate) the work Auto Muffler King would do. Poquoson Auto Repair referred me to Auto Muffler King because They will make only the repairs that are needed. They wont give you the hard sell for something you dont need. I arrived at 7:59 am, they opened at 8:00 am and I drove away at 8:23 am with a new muffler. Outstanding to work with.

Amazing customer service. Trustworthy. Fair pricing.I was referred to Muffler King by Moores Auto Repair (10000 Jefferson Ave). I trust Mr. Moore and he said this was they best place to go for an exhaust leak.I got there when the business opened at 8 a.m. Within TEN minutes, they had my car off the ground and diagnosed (exhaust leak)! They cut out the bad part and welded in a new one. An hour later, they called me to tell me my car was fixed! Id recommend this business to anyone.

Been here numerous times and always received great service and advice. Went for a a hole in my exhaust pipe that my vehicle sounding like a truck. Told the owner i would eventually like mandrill bent pipes, he did a patch job, for free, and i came back for him to do the job along with exhaust tips. Ill never have anyone else work on my exhaust system.

This place is AMAZING..I over heard the mechanic explaining to a customer that he had to get the car repaired first then come back and purchase the catalytic converter....any where else would have just changed it and waited till he came back when it went bad again and blamed it on his car.i like this place.honesty and great prices

The website advertises to offer Courteous Service, but the owner (Kevin) is far from courteous. Hes short ill-tempered, impatient and could definitely use some personal training in positive rapport and good customer service skills while interacting with customers. Considering my personal experience with the owner, Im quite surprised that he advertises himself as a Christian business (John 3:16 on his website). On a separate note, pertaining to the work, its very difficult to see how this shop advertises as a custom Muffler Shop, but only if it is to factory spec? I fail to see custom in this concept. If it is custom, it is not factory. As an example (this was not my situation, but offering an example), if you own a vehicle with a motor swap/upgrade (e.g. swapped from a V4/6 to V8), since it is not factory and he has to complete work that is to factory specs, this is not the shop for you. If youre a car enthusiast, with a custom build (to include show vehicles), this is not the exhaust shop for you. As a seeking customer, do yourself a great favor. Your efforts would be best suited with a true custom exhaust & fab shop. If youre looking for factory replacement and you can ignore the poor hospitality, this may work for you. Otherwise, Id recommend seeking exhaust work, elsewhere.Hopefully, this feedback provides others with assistance in finding the right shop for you.

Car failed due to cracked exhaust. Auto shop i had it inspected at said this place is the only place he trusted not to rip you off. He said some other shops would probably try and sell me a new exhaust or to try and replace a lot of unnecessary piping.I went in expecting to spend a couple hundred. Was quoted less than a hundred to replace and weld the small section that was damaged. On top of that the day I called to make an appointment they said to bring it right in. They looked at the car in under 5 minutes of me showing up and began work within 10. Fast Service plus Quality work. Will definitely come back for any future repairs.

I brought my classic 1966 Riviera in here to get a full 2.5 inch dual exhaust system installed to replace the old 2 inch exhaust and mufflers. Kevin quickly put my car on the rack and gave me an estimate to complete the installation. He told me the 2.5 inch exhaust would fit fine despite what a private muffler shop in Portsmouth, VA had told me. Kevin is the consummate professional when it comes to his knowledge and skills for the installation of my custom system. I would highly recommend this shop for your exhaust work if you want quality work and professional craftsmanship at a fair price.

I challenged Kevin with installing a complete dual exhaust system on a 53 Hudson Hornet- a car with only enough room for single exhaust. The job had been botched by another muffler shop- lesson learned. We set up appointment. Kevin was ready for my car when I arrived. Although he previously said it might take him a few days, he surprised me a few hours later with finished work. Welds were professional and beautiful. Adequate clearance allowed for the entire undercarriage. Beautiful joints installed to enable transmission removal, etc. I will never go elsewhere for custom work

Needed to install a catalytic converter on my vehicle. I was helped by very knowledgeable staff who made sure it was done right. They also pointed out problems they saw under the vehicle as a precaution. Install was extremely quick about 15 minutes and the welds looks great!. Thank you for helping me out.

I am a retired twenty six year Air Force veteran. I definitely RECOMMEND Auto Muffler King to everyone! I went IN yesterday with my Honda Del Sol and was out within twenty minutes flat! I decided to give Muffler King a try after reading some positive reviews on the Internet. I drove from Windsor to Newport News. Muffler Kings website said no appointment necessary. When I got there they took my car in immediately and about 5 minutes later I was given an estimate of $250 to replace two straight pipes which had some small holes and were slightly rusted. Keven said the catalytic converters and mufflers were OK. I decided to let the Muffler King do the work while I waited. It took a little over 2 hours to remove two straight pipes between catalytic converters and mufflers on a dual exhaust. The Muffler King fabricated two Y pipes to replace the straight pipes. Keven said federal standards required a single exhaust system converted to dual exhaust has to be done with two Ys by law. Most inspections stations are likely not aware of this as they are only looking for holes when inspecting the exhaust. The Auto Muffler King did a great job and at the price quoted. No surprises.I went to the Muffler King because I wanted a shop that only does exhaust systems. I didnt want to go to a shop where they might need to order pipes. The Muffler King made the pipes for my 2000 Mustang on site. When you look at the Muffler Kings website or the sign posted on the shop window with the hours of operation you see that the Muffler King is closed on Sunday for church. While the Auto Muffler Kings shop may not be flashy, you can tell when you walk in and looking around that these guys know exhaust systems and exhaust system repair. I would highly recommend the Auto Muffler King to anyone looking for an honest shop with very competitive prices.

I have had a hole I my muffler for the past 6 months mostly because I was quoted at nearly $200 to fix it. I am new to the area but found this place on google and went because they had great reviews. Seriously best place to get muffler work done. I went in they looked at it 30 minutes and $70 later no hole. I was very pleased by their work, knowledge, speediness, and fair pricing!

Always great work at reasonable prices. The best repairs and custom work in the area. They also do other fabrication work so almost a one stop shop for custom metal work.

A real surprise for the sketchy location!  Had a custom job welded up.  I provided muffler and tips, they bent the pipes.  Welds look like a machine did it.  Lots of knowledge, skill, and talent in this shop.  If you want anything out of the norm, this is your shop.  Garage was mostly full of custom bikes and older cars/hotrods.Could not be more pleased with the quality of craftsmanship and welds, as well as the speed and price.

THE MOST HONEST SERVICE!!! I was initially quoted for my catalytic converter $790. I called around only to be quoted $1600 - $2000. My brother told me that he came here and had great service. I called and was quoted $490. I accepted. I arrived a few minutes after 8 a.m., my truck was on the lift within 5 mins. I was approached minutes later and it was brought to my attention that my cat was fine, however the heat shield was loose, $15. They could have charged my the qouted price, but they did not. That honesty and integrity goes a long way.

The mechanics have an attitude. And the mechanics charge made up prices. i was charged $300 for something that only took 30 mins. When I asked the mechanic how did they come up with that price, he looked at me with an attitude like i was speaking Chinese. The ladies at the desk are polite but the mechanics have no social skills. And the prices are made up. they cant even explain why it cost what it did.

It was pleasant went in ask a few questions, they have me a recommendation not trying to talk me into getting them to do the work, and it just so happen I needed a converter and he had one right by his foot and put it in and I was on my way truck running much better.Thanks Jackson
