My husband and I had a very nice time shopping in this beach store 6-28-20. The lady behind the counter was not only friendly and helpful with our questions (without being pushy at all), but she was kind and genuine. Theres a boatload of clothing stores in Balboa Village and the Newport Fun Zone area so we really appreciate this gift shop filled with beach-themed items, wall art, souvenirs and just a few clothes. Great shopping experience : )

One of my favorite places to shop...I go to Balboa Island specifically to shop here...they always have the best selection of spring/summer dresses...customer service is great as well...very helpful finding me the perfect dresses.

Beautiful summer beach dress! While on vacation, I stepped into this store and the store clerk helped me to find a dress to suit exactly what I was looking for. She was kind, clever, and very helpful, and the dress is a wonderful value! Good quality, non wrinkle, and beachy - exactly perfect for vacation wear. I plan on contacting her when I get home and asking if she will ship me another of these beautiful dresses!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I asked for the woman behind the counter to itemize what was being purchased because I was confused about the final price. Instead I get a lecture about how she doesnt cheat customers. Um, yeah lady, you do. $7 for 10 postcards and a stupid keychain is totally overpriced but I understand you got bills to pay.Go anywhere else to buy overpriced souvenirs without the lecture.

We have been coming here with our families for at least 15 years! Our GRANDkids ALWAYS look forward to shopping here, as well as seeing the precious owner who ALWAYS remembers us!! Added bonus is LOTS of AWSUM souvenirs !

On a little romantic stay~cation with my sweetheart, we stopped in to Blue Sails in Newport a couple of weeks ago and purchased a plumeria necklace and earrings (separately) amongst several other things. Our experience there was delightful as we talked with the gal behind the counter about Hawaii. I forgot her name but she was so pleasant that we came back to buy a few more things and also to see if the store would be willing to swap out one of the earrings I bought as 2-3 days after we bought them the shell part of the earring fell out. I understand they were $20 earrings, not $100but they werent $5 either and I feel they shouldve held together longer than 2-3 days of wear.At any rate, we returned to find the nice lady behind the counter was replaced with the total opposite, a rude and demeaning lady named Arangi. I inquired about exchanging the one earring, she laughed at me and said, no, we dont do that. We are not a big department store like that. My sweetheart then made the comment about standing behind your product as the shell fell out only about 2-3 days after the purchase. Again, in a belittling tone, said No we dont do that. We have NEVER had any complaints about that jewelry in over 30 years... we continued to shop as we really did like the shop and the previous lady we spoke to. This Arangi kept going on to the point we became annoyed, I let her know we would be placing a review regarding her service.There was one other shopper that was in there and left shortly after us and asked what happened. She said she heard the end of the conversation and is now hesitant to even shop in there and did not go back in. So needless to say, Arangis lack of customer service has resulted in at least 2 customers lost. Thats really too bad because we had planned to visit that shop regularly as they have some cute things that other shops dont have or may have but Blue Sails has better prices. Unfortunately, with rude counter person and not standing behind their product, looks like well need to find a new little place.
