Ive read some of the most recent reviews of this store location and have experienced some things differently.When stock is low at ANY store, especially for the last 12 months, just remember that we were (and still are) in a pandemic. The store cannot control how the food industry has been impacted. Its a supply & demand matter. Wed all link to think that things should have gotten much better now, but not for all food items.All stores have their own look. One may think that the store looks outdated, but perhaps this is the vision of the company. Perhaps not good or bad. What should matter is the quality of the food and the customer service that one receives when needed help or interacting with store associates.Cashiers/Baggers are not always the best and some just kind of toss your food in the bag, but there are some who are conscious about ones items and bags with thought. Yes, bagging matters to me.Some items at Price Chopper are more expensive than at other stores, but they do have some good sales on some items. Shop at whichever location gives you warm & fuzziness but dont cross Price Chopper off your list. Theyre really not that bad.

So, I think I just got discriminated at #209. Me and my friend went to the seafood department and wanted to order lobster tails…mind you they are on sale this week for $5.99. I ordered 10 and she ordered 4. The lady working took her sweet time with us. Then the lady going 2 say I have to bring these to the register for you and in my head what I never heard of no such thing. But there was this white man who order 2 big containers of whatever he ordered and she going to say sir your order is done and sent him on his way. There is no sign posted at the seafood department saying orders must be brought to the register. It is sad that I can’t feel comfortable in my neighborhood grocery store!!!!

This stores décor is incredibly dated and the store itself is very run down. It was clear that one of the refrigeration units was not working properly and their floors in many of the aisles were unbelievably dirty. This store is desperately in need of a face lift and renovations.

I shop here regularly,quality items and courteous employees,look for the deals,I strongly recommended this Price Chopper for getting what you need and pay a little more but get a value too,5 stars is my vote.

Price Chopper is always a good visit!! The store is clean, stocked, and have the best prices around. The staff is awesome. Remembering customers names. Always asking if they can help as well as greeting you both coming in and when youre leaving the store. No reason to shop anywhere else!

I love shopping here because of the good selection on all brands. The only thing I have an issue with is the wilted lettuce in the produce department. They over price the red and green leaf lettuce and it is not fresh at all.

No service! The cashier allowed my groceries to just crush up at the end of the belt, that explains why no one was in there hardly at all. Wow, never again.

Price chopper the store it great never had issue until last night cashier maybe had a bad day not sure what was going on kept looking at me and when I ask for bags she kept ignore me. I figured she didnt hear so I ask nicely again nothing. I said okay and bag my groceries myself, but its funny because i just laugh 😂😂😂 so funny would not be going back to this location store was not store produce area looked old and there was hardly anything there very disappointed in this location.

Shelves are pretty well stocked. Decent variety. Not hugh sales but not many anywhere nowadays. Only 3 registers open but it moved quickly.

It was ok. In general, all Price Chopper stores are one step higher than roach motels. They are also, way too expensive. Youd think theyd be cleaner. Especially, the deli and bakery. Save yourself the trip and go to Stop&Shop.

The people that work for the company were very noe nd helpful. The store was very clean. Produce very fresh. It is the store to shop for your family and be very satisfied.

I enjoy shopping here because they have a larger selection than Price Rite, they have longer hours and their prices are not too bad for having to make a longer trip to shop.

Tonight I went to #1 return empty bottles and #2 pick up a few things. Well the bottle machine took 2 bags of my bottles and rejects another bag an a half that were the same brand. There shouldnt be a reason they were rejected. So I asked for an employee to give me a hand. Manny was his name. He came out from the store and had an attitude right away. I explained what happened. He said what do you want me to do about it ? Then after me explaining he said you dont have to shop here“! This got me very upset. There are so many other stores I could have went to but I chose to shop at this store / location. Then I asked him for a managers help and he called me a BI×CH. Let me just say I WILL BE Calling the corporate office tomorrow. I then picked up my things. I sat in my car after leaving and called the store to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold for 11.5 minutes and no manager. This is unacceptable!! I WILL NEVER EVER step foot in this location again. Shopper be very CAREFUL. If you do stay FAR AWAY from Manny the lot/bottle attendant.

The rotisserie chicken i purchased was dryyyyyy! Dried out as if it was cooked one day and placed in the fridge to dry out prior to selling. Needless to say, we tossed it. And, needless to say, these small rotisseries should be no more than 5.00. Similar to the other store. Finally, update the store. Its old and the bathrooms are dark and smell. The employees will thank you for caring abt them enough to upgrade their store as well. Thank you.

They have arrows on the floor to keep you going in the same direction. You might have to do a little more walking but the extra exercise is good due to stay home stay safe. I did see someone in the store with no mask and their should be a note no entry without mask. But I see the changes to try and comply with everyone safe. Remember we are all in this together so people wear a mask to do your part. You may not agree or want to for whatever reason but Im sure you wont want to wear a ventilator either.

Not a cheap place to shop. But they have everything need.

Had my ups and downs at this store. For the most part, friendly helpful staff & clean. Be wary of produce....always moldy within a day or two of purchase especially fruit such as blueberries and strawberries. Had a problem with an order for food made for a birthday party. Order got lost and not made on time. Other than those couple of problems basically a good store with reasonable prices and an awesome bakery.

Nice store, clean. Good variety of items. One drawback is that the people stocking fruits and vegetables. Were pretty much rude and on the pushy side for me to get out of the way. And I understand delivery trucks come in at different times and by the time they get unloaded and out to the selling floor take some time. But this was like 9:45 and I would think by then most all items would be out for sale. Its not even that so much its just the rudeness of the two different gentleman and that area on April 26th. Front end manager woman was excellent very polite opened up another check out register High marks for her. Also the gentleman in we are the pizzas are made I assumed he was a manager very high marks for him also. Probably will try again in the future to come in but the rudeness to a customer. Which should be obviously the foremost impression on any employee working for your company. I understand they have a job to perform I worked retail never treated customers like I witnessed today

Went t Price Chopper in Newington this morning. 2 folks working the Deli. I was third in line. When it came to my turn, the gentleman working the decided instead of taking my order he restocked meat that No one was ordering. He actually told me to wait a minute while he restocked. I dont want to be in the store longer than necessary. Please ask your employees to restock AFTER all customers have been serviced

In terms of being organized, Id give the store an 8/10. However the checking out process needs much improvement. Theres not clear directions or anything in place to ensure customers get checked out in the order of first at the checkout area first out. To make it worse, less that half of the available registers were being used.

Shopping in this store can be a strange experience. In the last year I have experienced:Sorry sir we are out of honey ham until we sell enough other meat so we can have the money to order hamWe are out of burgers for today, tomorrow we can make more with tomorrows meat. You should come back then. I was asking for two.The Southington store is much better.

Ive consistently wound up with spoiled meat (For example, chicken I bought today, on 2/18, said use by 2/26 and the chicken was slimy and smelled bad from the moment I opened it) and bad produce at this store. This has been especially true over the past few months, anything not prepackaged is awful, something is seriously wrong with quality control here.

I visited here on a Friday morning about 9am. I wanted a bagel and I got more then I had anticipated, in a good way. You can get a bagel toasted and with cream cheese on it. Also the employees I interacted with, Antonino and Angel were extremely helpful and a joy to talk to. The attendant of the self checkout was able to help me pay for the bagel while helping another customer. I would suggest that Price Chopper do some research and development on improving the self checkout system, it does seem to be still dependant upon an attendant more than other stores.

Surprised by the clean, efficient layout of the bakery and produce sections. I only had to run in quickly for a few things, but it was great to see how much space there was in the store. There were a ton of fresh bread options in the bakery that I debated about trying. Would recommend checking the place out if youre in the market for a new market.

Its alright, not many foods for kids or so. But chicken and meat are good price.

Not a bad local grocery store. Friendly cashiers. Prices on par with other chains but lacking stock other stores have. Example, no corn on the cob at all last time anywhere.

Baggers should be better trained. I was in today and a young man put my cans is iced tea on top of my pumpkin bread.

I love Price Chopper. I shop there every week. Beware of the dates on items!. On Sunday 10/21, I purchased a dozen Eglands Best eggs. Went to use them today only to see the Sell by date of 10/14. UGH!!!!

Terrible, gross store. Mold and bugs all throughout the produce section. The current grocery manager mark has no class and terrible customer service skills. He would not help me locate certain items I was looking for after they reset the store isles, he said he didnt have the time and walked away. I will ensure to never spend another dime at this or any other price chopper ever again. Ive found the stop and shop up the road to be a much cleaner and more pleasant place to shop.

Gas points add up quick and prices are usually better then other big chain stores. Quality of their special made items in and around the deli area are fantastic. Recyclers this is the spot to return that accept all bottles which makes them awesomely GREEN!!!

The pluses -Clean, usually helpful staffThe negatives -I often need to shop after 12 am, but before 6 am. The times this place used to be 24h. The prices were a little on the high side but I didnt mind because they were the only 24h grocery that I could find. Theyve since changed their hours, but keep the pricing high.The selection of organic foods are dismal, IF you can find what youre looking for. Unlike other stores, price chopper makes you hunt for organic products. Organic rice isnt in the rice aisle, nor is it in the organic section. Its nestled somewhere you wasted 15 minutes looking for before asking for help.If you want groceries, Id suggest the stop and shop close to Wethersfield. Similar hours, cheaper food, and less frustrating to find products.All in all, price chopper isnt BAD, but its not cool to change your hours from 24h to 6am-12am. Especially when the corporate has used their status as 24h in the past to prevent other chains from going 24h.

It has been awhile since Ive been to the location in Newington because I live on the other side of town. My card didnt scan because if inactivity and the first thing the customer service person says us oh, you must shop at stop and shop. I was taken back and felt the comment wasnt necessary. She was a tad bit tuddy. Embrace the extra traffic youre getting, the could become the frequent, consistent shopper.

At first I stayed away due to the name. I thought it to he generic. I was very mistaken. It is a store I find most enjoyable. clean, organized, great atmosphere, and very helpful employees. How can I ever shop anywhere else now? Good thing is I dont need too.

Hi, although a full refund was issued, my complaint is that this store sold raw food to me, the consumer. after purchasing the food and biting into it, i found there was blood in the meat reflecting that it had been under cooked, unfortunately. I took pictures of the bloody food and returned to the store immediately to speak w/ a manager. Customers can get food borne illnesses from this type of practice.

Went to self check out Saturday the 15th at 1130 and the person working saw me coming, put my ice into the computer, and got me out in seconds! So helpful when I was in a hurry!

As the name suggest it has good discounts on veggies, fruits etc. They have some store coupons which you can use to get your prices chopped even further.

I am so disappointed at this supermarket. WHY?... I never used to come to this supermarket until Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union opened. Ive been a faithful customer because of my banking facilities. Now, I find out Price Chopper is dropping NFCU. I just wonder if the supermarket realizes that there may be MANY, MANY customers thinking the way I do... The moment NFCU closes their doors, theyre(Price Chopper) loosing a customer, perhaps maybe many customers.
