Eric was very professional ..,,and schedule an appointment was very easy, they gave a reasonable arrival time, they called before arriving, and once they were here, they did a great job on our carpet installed....The team they send to my house to install the carpet were thorough and clearly took the job efficiently ... they are very hard working guys. I will definitely be using them again next time we need a new carpet installed

Galaxy Carpet has a huge selection of different size rugs. We looked and looked finally in the last section we found exactly what we were looking for. We brought it home and it looked awesome in the room. We liked the 3 day return policy or call to see if they could get more abstract bold colors.

Went to look for a new stair runner carpet. No pressure sales. I was helped immediately both times I went in. I was shown what I was looking for and then left alone to think! Second time I got all my questions answered and they were even able to order the carpet I wanted in a longer size. I was so glad I asked! Ordered carpet on a Wednesday and I stalled midday by Friday! The guys that came out worked so fast and it looked so good! So glad we went to Galaxy! Dog approved!

We didnt know anything about Galaxy but went there looking for a area rug. They have a great selection and we found exactly what we were looking for. The prices were considerably less than other stores we shopped and the staff was very helpful.

We recently installed 1800 sf of new carpet on two levels of our home prior to listing for sale. I found galaxy on google; we live 50 minutes away. I dealt with Harry on the install and he was fantastic, absolutely no pressure, worked with me on carpet choices, and made two trips out to measure and do the contract. He came up with 200 or so less sf in his bid than a competitor as to waste. The install was timely and the two installers, polite, hard working, and great craftsmanship. I highly recommend Harry and this company!

Had a great experience with this place. Charlie knew so much about all of the special order options for a super soft and elegant carpet and was very professional. He came out to measure and determine the best way to install and the two installers were also very kind and did great work of the removal of old carpet, moving of very heavy furniture and perfectly placing the new carpet in two bedrooms and walk in closets. We had been shopping for an indoor/outdoor carpet for the concrete slab on my 3 season porch for over a year, we had a couple of quotes from the big box stores but never followed through with them as there were too many unanswered variables. On a whim a few Saturdays ago we stopped into Galaxy in Newington. in under an hour, we walked out with a carpet choice, an appointment for installation that Thursday and the bonus was that the price was $400+ less than the other quotes we had received! The installer arrived as promised, install went smoothly and quickly and he cleaned up after himself. He did a fantastic job. I highly recommend Galaxy.

My wife and I recently finished our basement and Galaxy was recommended by our contractor. We stopped in and met Omar, he was awesome! Had us in and out in less than 15 minutes! Carpet was selected and priced out the next day with measurements from our contractor. I shopped the pricing and couldn’t come close so 3 days later we scheduled the install. When my wife and I got home and saw the quality of work, especially the skill it took to do the stairs with the spindles already installed, we were absolutely blown away! Amazing work. Purchased carpet from galaxy carpet in Berlin, ask the salesman if we could lay the carpet a certain way to save us from purchasing 6ft more of carpet, he said that they could do that for us. The installer came the next day and argued with us that we needed to buy 6ft more of carpet for $175 plus tax and that he didn’t want to use the extra pieces to make up the difference because it was going to be more work for him. We will have someone else do the job and won’t recommend or use this company again.

MJ was the salesman and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. The store has a large variety of rugs and hardwood floors. The two carpet installers were very friendly and professional. They did a great job on the installation and the clean up afterward.

The two stars is for Edgar, the very hard-working one-man show, installation guy they sent to my home. He was professional, polite and went out of his way to try to make up for our salesman’s (Spencer) poor customer service. I took the day off work to be there for our delivery - they cancelled at the last moment and we rescheduled for the following day. At that point my husband could not put off a work trip another day and I had to take another day off work. We were led to believe an installation “crew” would be able to install a very large area rug at our home and put a new runner on our stairs. I got no help moving furniture to allow for the removal of the old area rug and with only one delivery guy (who showed up an hour and a half later than scheduled) I had to call Galaxy at 3:30 in the afternoon to ask if the old and very heavy carpet could be removed. I had struggled to roll it up but could do no more on my own. Spencer took my call but said that removal was not their job and was there anything else I had an issue with because he was busy and had to go. So the sale was history, he’d been paid in full so he was too busy to listen to my upset. Never again Spencer - very poor way to treat a customer. Be sure you ask several times what delivery and installation means and get them to put everything in writing. Do not trust that things that should be part of the process are included.

Spencer was amazing, I didnt even have to go to the store to pick a carpet, he came with samples and measured the whole place. Due to my busy schedule it was very helpful. Harris was my sale rep. Friendly and courteous and very helpful. The price seemed very fair to me as they were my third quote. Everything happened without a hitch. Measurements agreed with mine, they had a great match in stock, the installers came when I was told and the final product is beautiful. I would definitely go here again.

Not as good as they use to be. I have been doing business with them for many years since I flip houses. Their carpet prices are on the high side even for the less expensive carpets. Their prices were better before. I was going to purchase some vinyl flooring but ended up with an arrogant jerk. He wanted 70% down. I refused and said I would give 50% down and when they finished installation the balance. He said no way we have a new policy. Its 70% down or we wont take the order. (They had the flooring in stock so they did not have to order it) Then he said you were here last week and you left without buying because of this. I told him no that was not the case. I left last week because I was told you would have a carpet that I was interested in purchasing in a few days then when the office checked I was told 2 weeks or more so I left. Go down the street to Floor Now. The person at Floor Now was very helpful. Good buy to Galaxy Carpet no more business from me.

GREAT PRICES. Have a little bit of everything in stock but can get anything you need. Will piece together so you dont have to buy a lot of extra as long as you dont mind a couple of seams. Installation is a breeze and the installers k ow there stuff and are quick. My entire house has been carpeted by Galaxy. Dont forget to check out the remnant room.

Could not be better. We were renovating a nice house that had gotten dated and found both carpet and flooring to fit our needs. Staff was helpful in listening to our preferences, giving us color, style and price point options. We were given samples of our choices to bring home to see them in the house lighting and then we were sure our colors were right.The measuring and installation were exactly on time, done well and there was no mess left behind. Now all the floors look great!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.We hired Galaxy to do all the flooring in our new construction home. The tile was to be installed first and was done horribly. Nothing was square and the lines were off by a half an inch all over the room. When we called to complain, we were told the installer would come back out to look and once he did we were told “it’s not that bad”. I couldn’t get the sales guy to come see for himself, so my husband drove to the store with photos to show them. Their response at that point was “wow”. Next, the carpet. They didn’t carpet the landing to my family room that my builder and I both explicitly stated we wanted carpeted. They tried to tell us we told them NOT to carpet it. Why anyone would want a plywood landing when everything was carpeted is beyond me, and if they think I said that and as the “flooring professionals” they claim to be- didn’t question that- then that is a whole different problem. When I asked for them to send an installer back out to complete the job, the installer didn’t even show up until well after the 4 hour window I was given.All the time, frustration and missed hours of work dealing with this company wasn’t worth the small savings we got with their in-stock special. My advice- go with a GOOD company and save yourself the NIGHTMARE of dealing with Galaxy.I will NEVER give them another cent of my money, and will warn all my friends and family to do the same.

I initially thought it was great, but our salesperson, Tom gave us a quote in store that was significantly less than the actual cost once he sent the contract. When we called to ask the reason for the diffference he was VERY rude and wouldnt apologize or even acknowledge what happened. Maybe the rest of the staff is fine, but dont ever work with Tom.

Horrible! Was way overpriced the installers were late and unprofessional I would never let these guys in my house again. I ended up going with a smaller business and they quoted me way less than this company what a ripoff

I went to Carpet Plus and got the exact same carpet for half the price and the people there are extremely professional and courteous. Galaxy Carpet has now installed carpet in my home on two separate occasions, and they did a great job both times. Their installers were hard-working and knocked out the installs with no hassle or time wasted. The first time, the guys even showed up during a snow storm to re-carpet most of my house. Buyer beware... The lighting inside doesnt usually match whats in your home. Once you sign contract you have 3days or you are stuck and they have an unwritten 25% restocking fee. Make sure you get a large enough sample to compare inside your house

I had a bad end result with another carpet store in CT and I dreaded going through the pos-install repairt again. To my very pleasant surprise, the two installers left my home spotless, walls unscratched, and baseboard without gouges. I will definitely be using Galaxy on future project!!

We had several rooms of carpet installed at my mother’s condo on March 30, 2018 and I am beyond disappointed with the final product for upwards of $3,000. The final product is so bad, we will have to have it removed and reinstalled or replaced at our own expense.We allegedly purchased a name brand carpet (with free padding) but it is so thin I can feel the subfloor underneath, making it very uncomfortable to walk on. I called management and was told it was not worth it to reinstall. I wonder if they would take the same position if it was their home?In addition, the installers tried to remove the excess carpet without our permission. Given this observation, I question whether the installers actually installed the padding wall to wall. I purchased carpet at Lowe’s for my house at a similar price with a free install promo (around the holiday). I chose an entry level product at Lowe’s but the quality was significantly higher than Carpet Galaxy.Buyer beware - don’t make the same $3,000 mistake we made!

We were told they would be coming at 1pm and be done by 5pm. 1 person showed up at 3:45pm the other 2 at 6:45pm. We were never told to empty the fridge and lost hundreds of dollars worth of food because of this. They did not leave the house until 10:30pm and could not even finish the task. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!

I thought I was getting a good deal I was talked into the install with the impression we are professionals. They bent the tracks on my closet doors taken them off to carpet the place. I had to straighten them out for them to even work right again. Carpet is over priced and really not good quality. I can see lines where they made a seam in my bedroom. GO somewhere bigger is my advice to anyone. You wont pay much more if any, get better service, and hopefully have a better experience. The Italian guy who sold me the rug told me We wont send Mexicans into your house like a home depot The installers were Mexican or Spanish. Great salesman he will tell you what you want to hear but not deliver with the same standard.
