Had a bacon,egg &cheese on hard roll and coffee both a good temp. And tasty. Steady stream of people masks are required but service was quick in and out.

Food is fine.Just annoying to deal with . Absolutely never answer the phone to take an order. the line is ALWAYS busy. Pretty tired of that, so I now found a different spot.

Very good Toasted Sesame Bagel. They have a nice consistently to their bagels. Other shops I know sometimes serve a rubbery bagel. If you like bagels, you know what I mean.

Honestly, my favorite breakfast spot in Newburgh. They simply have the best bagels. The biale is my personal favorite. Their flavored cream cheeses are off the hook and they are incredibly fast and efficient. Its a well operated spot that makes good food, you cannot go wrong with this place

The old lady cashier with blond fuzzy hair was so rude . Just yelling at everyone and being disrespectful. Then was rude when I was trying to pay . And they got my order wrong. Don’t have a bad attitude if you’re going to work with the public all day

Its a nice place for either for breakfast and or lunch. They have a large section to choice from, along with a nice and hard-working staff. Sitting in is available and or takeout.

Being from New Jersey, Taylor ham is very hard to come by up here. Downtown Bagels has great Taylor ham sandwiches, as well as chicken noodle soup when they make it! Ive wanted to try other things from their menu as well, but the few things I order are so good I cant stop myself.Bagels are incredible as well, but they go quick!

Aaaaaaaaaand... I’m out. I frequent this spot because it is oh so close to my house. After today, I am putting a life time BAN on it. I was in yesterday before the morning rush and went in today during the morning rush. Both days I was in shock and awe, the amount of time it takes them to complete an order makes me believe the cook top is only able to handle one item at a time... they must have to cook one egg, then one piece of bacon, then the home fries. That is the only way it would make sense that I had to sit in the shop for 30 minutes this morning and 20 minutes yesterday after placing my order. I know what youre thinking as youre reading this, and I agree, I dont mind waiting for quality food. Both yesterday and today I was served cold sandwiches leading me to believe my sandwich sits after being ready. This is not the first time this has happened to me by any means. You dont have to take my word for it, I attached a picture clearly showing the cheese wasnt melted on today’s sandwich.Any-well. I would feel bad about this, but this seems to be the norm. If you dont believe me, go in and sit by the door for a bit. 15 people walked in and turned right around to walk out while I was waiting today. A group of young men asked 3 times where their food was, and a couple that walked in 10 minutes after I ordered asked where their food was shortly before my order was called... If we dont post honest reviews they will never change, and they will continue to lose business. If my half an hour experience today was an accurate cross section they lose a potential customer once every 2 minutes.Allow me to give you some quick math on that;Let’s assume the breakfast rush is between 8-12 (I have been in their many times between those hours and they are always busy).Let’s assume an average ticket price per customer is $5 (My ticket today was $8 but I got extra egg and extra bacon).1 lost customer every 2 minutes.120 lost customers per morning.6,240 lost customers per weekend (Saturday and Sunday Mornings)$31,200 in lost revenue each year without factoring in weekdays.The really sad part about this is when the sandwich is good it is one of the better spots in Newburgh. Sadly, that is probably 1 out of every 4 times I go, and I simply don’t want to continue to pay (or wait) for something that is only good 25% of the time.In closing, if you’re the type of person who likes to wait 30 minutes to eat cold food and listen to other customers complain about how long they have been waiting... Down Town Bagels is the spot for you! If you, like me, don’t like that… I would keep driving and try to find what seems to be the Holy Grail for Newburgh (a great spot for breakfast).

Just dont go. Its conveniently located and the bagel are pretty good, but its SO UNSANITARY and TRASHY. The service is terrible, and today there were THREE EMPLOYEES NOT WEARING MASKS. I saw a woman come onto work with no mask and start work without washing her hands. Im very disappointed.

I went for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Kind of a good easy breakfast. They take food orders quickly but the wait after was kind of long. The same people taking orders also prepare food so, thats why the wait was long. The bagel tasted good and fresh. Although they toasted the bagel it was only warm when I received it. That happened because they were taking orders instead of preparing food so mine cooled off after toasting.

Was just in here for the first time with my youngest son and placed an order for breakfast sandwiches. Mistakenly, a customer walked out with my order, things happen. They started to prepare me a new order. Five minutes later this individual comes back in, obviously after rummaging through the breakfast sandwiches, and realizing he had the wrong order. Im watching this bag very closely because there is no way theyre going to try to give me these sandwiches after a stranger left the building for 5 minutes doing who knows what to this food. And that is exactly what happened. After I called them out for it, they proceeded to lie to me. I watched the whole thing thats absolutely disgusting, and violates health codes.

I said let me go check this place out since Im in the area. Ordered a simple breakfast sandwich and they forgot to put tomato on it as I requested. Plus the same exact sandwich I ordered from them is cheaper at a Deli near by. Like most places today, they make the sandwich they want to make, not the way you want it made. Sorry to say I wont be back.

They did it again! Same thing happened to me a few months ago but I let it go...not this time. Ordered 4 sandwiches got 3 (clearly 4 sandwiches on the order sheet). I was ok with three and said never mind but the employee insisted that it would only take a few minutes. 10 minutes later I ask if they forgot me and was told that my order was called long ago. I actually had to explain that I was still waiting for a missed sandwich then they ‘found’ it.I get that mistakes happen and while I was irritated (again) I intended to let it go (again). The employee knew they messed up but gave no acknowledgement let alone an apology. As I’m leaving I got a very sarcastic ‘have a nice day’. That was it for me.Food here is good but I can get the same or better food at their competitors. Slow service and sarcastic attitude won’t be rewarded with my hard earned money.

What a great place for a breakfast. Service was fast and friendly and the prices are hard to beat. The menu prices in Newburgh are slightly more than the website shows and the place appears to be cash only with an ATM in the back. I got the Western omelet platyer with a plain bagel and I enjoyed it. I would recommend coming here.

Good Food, but got my order wrong twice. Hubby wanted to go...this is 6 months later, they forgot the ranch on my chicken ranch wrap. I suggest you try to watch the sandwich makers, if you can. Too bad -- food is good....bathroom not so good...

This place is hit or miss when its busy. On days where it isnt busy and the staff isnt rushed they are very accommodating but when its busy you might end up with the wrong order or an aggravated employee. When its good its good and when its not its not.Came here again on Nov 18, 2017 and I am changing my rating to 1 star. Placed a large order to pick up and 1/3 was missing. When I called to complain, instead of being apologetic I got blamed for not checking. Then the owner said Well the bag did feel a little light. No one seems to communicate here. The food is underwhelming. Im done with this place.

Terrible service. The workers are slow. They are too social with each other when they are making food which slows down the process. If you’re in a rush don’t go here because a bacon egg and cheese takes 40 minutes, if they even remember to make it for you. The food isn’t all it’s made out to be, a hot sandwich comes out cold. If you try and call it in don’t waste your time again because they spend ten minutes on one order so the landline is always busy. 1/5

Soooo....I have seriously been going here since they opened. I have continued to order my favorite sandwich, BLT. I can be a bit picky with the order but it goes as follows. Bacon, well done and extra of it, lettuce, tomato, light mayonnaise on a hard roll. Easy right?? No apparently not. I NEVER get my extra bacon, that I ALWAYS pay for. Bacon is rubbery. Not well done. Well I finally just about had it since my last two visits. There is this Spanish girl who has absolutely no people skills, rude, doesnt smile and always takes the order....maybe its her fault they dont see it says extra bacon since she writes it this way :XBLTWellNow I dont really know....but enough is enough I wont be returning and in hopes that this Spanish girl gets the boot. The female owner is nice but even the last time I went in with a friend, ordered two bagels she said LIGHT cream cheese, I guess that meant she would get none while I had mounds of it, had a little of an attitude. IDK what happened in the past two years but service and food is completely mediocre and I wont give my business anymore!

Got an avocado egg & cheddar breakfast sandwich here before so I assumed this mornings order wouldnt be an issue. We called to order & they took the order with no issues. Upon picking up the order I noticed not a single piece of avocado, just egg & cheese. When asking about it we were informed that they dont have avocado.Wouldnt it make more sense to say that when the order is placed?And rather than offer assistance in correcting the mistake, she simply threw her hands up as if it wasnt her problem. Not to mention this chick did not once smile & I had to greet her first.Most bland breakfast sandwich Ive ever had, Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

The bagels are delicious. The owner is awesome. You can NOT find bagels like this outside if the city...well rarely.Sadly, they get the orders wrong about 20% of the time- but I usually order by phone when theyre busy. In person, they almost always get it right. So order carefully.

Coming from Long Island, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an “Upstate” bagel shop. Well, they nailed it. Good bagels and quick service.

Place seemed nice, i heard great things about it, but my experience was quite horrible. My order was cold and wrong. Then the cashier practically threw my change at me, she didnt even greet me or make any eye contact. It was not a welcoming environment. The chances that i recommend this place or even come here again are very low.

Usually go to the Middletown Downtown Bagels but was in the area and figured we’d give Newburgh a try. Took so long for two bagels and employees were kind of rude. Found a hair and a piece of plastic in one of our sandwiches. Sorry to say we won’t be back.

Yummy bagels and great prices, but hit or miss service. The younger women who work at the counter are cool and laid back, but the shorter older woman is grouchy, rude, and ignores customers.

Use to love this place. Then they stoppedd caring in general. They have a phone number but never answer calls. I once called for 20 mins straight, got to the place and its empty yet no one is answrring phones. Food is mediorce and you cant even place a order ahead of time because theu never answer the phone. #NeedNewEmployeesOrSomething

Slow, rude service, and I asked for salt and pepper on my sandwich and it was too salty for me to finish. The prices are decent but when the food and service are awful that is moot. Btw thanks for the free meal the first time I went in, waited on line to pay for 10 min after finishing our meal but not a single customer in front of me in line was helped, so we walked out, I shouldnt have to wait to pay you, cutting into my own time. Aside from that both times Ive been in there Ive been ignored for 5 or so minutes before one of the very rude staff members takes my order. The owner is also a creep with very poor people skills, maybe thats why all the employees here are so terible at what is one of the simplest jobs in the world. Its almost sad how bad these people are at making sandwiches.

Wide variety of choices, but this place isnt that great. They all move like molasses and the becs are the worst Ive ever had - barely any egg or cheese and loaded with way too much bacon that tastes old.

Great everything bagels. With vegetables cream cheese. Go at least 2 a week.

I Ordered an omelette to go but they forgot to give me my home fries and toast that come with it terrible service will never go back.

Over priced. Still best bagel place locally. Stick to the basics bagel with regular cream cheese or butter.
