I don’t usually leave reviews especially BAD reviews, however, my visit on Friday April 30th left a bad taste in my mouth. A friend and I walked in with the intention of making a fairly large purchase for an upcoming event. That was until we realized that an employee was literally following us around the store. Not one time did she ask us if we needed assistance or if she could help us find anything. INSTEAD she was literally watching us through the shelves and racks. No matter which way we walked in the store whenever we looked up there she was staring at us. She wasn’t even being discreet about the fact that she was following us as if we were going to steal something. We 100% felt singled out as we were NOT the only customers in the store but we WERE the ONLY customers being followed around like we were criminals. It was most definitely an act of profiling whether it be racially motivated or age motivated I can’t say because we ended up leaving after being made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We most definitely will not be returning. That kind of behavior is unacceptable and for a small business during a pandemic you would think they would want all the business they could get. Apparently that isn’t the case. It’s sad that things like this still happen in 2021. * Edit 2 months later and not only have I not received an apology or even a response for what happened but my original review was deleted from the review page. People need to know about what they think is acceptable behavior here. Ridiculous.*

Great selection for whatever you decide to drink.

Nice little store with a great selection of Scotches, Wines and other spirits. Prices are about the same as PA.

I was in town for business for a few days. I stopped here to buy a few things. The selection is pretty good. The prices are competitive. The staff is helpful.

This is a nice little store with friendly, helpful staff. They had a good selection of beers and what looked to be a wide variety of spirits, although we went specifically for the beer. Will definitely shop again!

I stopped here to buy scotch for a party last weekend..the tall guy at the register was so polite & helpful...great selection of whiskey & scotch...this is gonna be my go to store from now...

They have a nice wine selection. I bought 7 different kinds of wine. 3 of them I had never seen. I will definitely be going back.

I was visiting Newark on business and came across the Newark Bottle Shop when looking for a local liquor store to pickup a bottle of wine to give to a prospective client. The staff at the Newark Bottle Shop introduced themselves when I came in the door and proceeded to help me pick out the perfect bottle of wine.Besides the great staff, the Newark Bottle Shop has a very good selection of wine and beer, including some hard to find brands/styles. And if they dont have it, the staff assured me they can order it.

This store has a no returns policy. I should have gone to Total Wine, which has a no questions return policy on their website. I bought a bottle of specialty beer for $16 and change for a Christmas gift at the Bottle Shop. Later I found a gift package of three bottles of the same brand plus a beer glass for $28 and change at State Line Liquors. I decided to buy that and take the single bottle back to the Bottle Shop for a refund. There, I handed the clerk the bottle and my receipt. Another clerk remembered me and said I bought it yesterday. The clerk with my receipt said flatly, no returns. I wont return either.

Very nice people, but they dont know much of anything about wine or liquors. Im not a beer drinker, so I cant speak to that. They have a good selection, though, and their prices are reasonable.
