Had my 32’ twin screw cruiser stored and winterized there. He went through foreclosure where it was stored and stole our boat. We went 2 1/2 years before finding where he put it. He told me to call him back and he would find where he put it? Then changed ph #s. Needless to say it is a total disaster. A true crook. Now the new owners of the property want storage. WOW! I’ll

I would not recommend this place for boat service. Took my Ranger with a 200hpdi in for diagnosis and storage. (Fall2015). Sheredan quoted me a cost of $279. She was nice. Never talked to her again. Pick up by May 1, 2016. Also $100.00 diag fee. ( never talked to Sheredan again) Dropped the boat off on the weekend with a list of everything I had done myself.(Im a 25yr ASE Master auto tech and now auto instructor)... yes not a boat, but I know the basics to check. Took almost 3 weeks to get back a hold of them to confirm my boat was taken into service and written up. I was then asked what do you want us to do? Ummm diagnose my problem. Took another 30 days to get back in touch with them. I was told the Yamaha diag cable was broken. So we are now into late Jan. 2016. I finally get back in touch with them after many, many calls. Service guy told me he thinks its fuel related? Poss injectors? I already checked and cleaned. He said he spent way more than the 1 hr ck out. I said ok I only approved 1 hr just stop there. He said when he gets the cable he will ck for codes. Another time period passes with no contact. (Guess they didnt ck codes, or tell me. I set a few codes while testing myself with connectors unplugged) Finally I write an email on the new boat purchase site of theirs. A different guy finally calls me. Im first asked what I wanted done in service? I said you couldnt figure it out. He then said uh, all yea, well we need to take it apart. I said no, just let me know my bill. He told me storage and diag $499.00 plus tax. I disputed and they adjusted my bill after a few more calls. When I picked my boat up, the only explanation on work order was poss vst problem? ( I noted on my list that I removed and cleaned out the vst) ( first thing YouTube video shows to do) Which guess is it? I checked marks on the inside cowl cover when I got home, I dont think they did anything? Cant prove it, but it was the worst experience Ive ever had with a service provider. Now off to the dealer for a real diagnosis. My Dealer dont store, so thats how it all started. Boat Boys were closer with storage and said they know how to work on Yamahas. Obviously they cant. If poor service doesnt sink their business, maybe the Dam work will crush their business. I paid cash and had to pay $2 extra dollars because they didnt have change. I was told people dont pay in cash? Todays date 3/28/16. All by the way, I myself replaced the plugs, filters, removed injectors, vst and compression ck in 2.0 hrs. Sooo really guys? I guess you should hire me with my summers off from teaching auto.

Dont take your boat to these people. My Four Winns Freedom 20 runabout was planing beautifully when I put it on Buckeye Lake, but the shift mechanism wasnt working well. So I asked Boat Boys to fix it. They floated my boat to/from their service dock, a distance of about 200 from my Yacht Club slip. In addition to shift mechanism repair, they said theyd checked my inboard engines water pump. When I tried to take the boat for a spin a 3 days later, the engine quickly raced to redline rpms, but was incredibly slow. I asked why, and was told that theyd taken it upon themselves to replace my prop. Why? The prop I had was working beautifully. I asked them to put my original prop back on. So they floated my boat to/from their service dock again.A week later I again tried to take my boat out for a spin, and it behaved like a lumber truck, wouldnt plane. I chugged along for a few minutes at mid-lake, until I smelled the engine overheating. But theyd claimed that theyd checked my engines water pump? I idled back to my slip and walked over to their office for an explanation. I was told that the boat was sluggish due to algae skuzz growth on its hull. After just 3 weeks in the water? They said theyd pull the boat out of the water to see what was going on. (At my expense naturally.)At the advice of a long-time Buckeye Lake boat dealer, I chugged my boat across the lake to Alexanders Landing. Chris Alexander pulled my boat out of the water and quickly noted that its prop was severely damaged. The damage was inconsistant with hitting an underwater object, only 2 of the 3 blades were damaged. It looked like a prop-eating piranha had taken a bite out of the sides of 2 prop blades. He also found that my water pump housing was partially melted, and that its rubber rotor was so worn that it had separated from the steel shaft. Chris rebuilt my water pump and installed a new prop. My skuzzed-up boat planed easily at 27mph at an easy engine speed of 3900 rpm, and 150 degrees temperature. My out-of-pocket cost for Chris repairs was $671. Boat Boys owner disclaimed any responsibility for the damaged prop, even though lumber truck performance began immediately after the boat had been floated to my slip from their service dock. He said hed be happy to refund $24 for water pump service that wasnt performed. I didnt accept that, so that the dispute would remain unresolved at Better Business Bureau.
