August 27th sale. Made a four hour round trip for a furniture set in the pictures. Got to the auction, no furniture set. Was told by multiple people that it was pulled so it could be sold at a future sale.If you pull an item, I think removing the pictures would be a good idea. Saying something in the listing may also be a good idea.Why do they care...I only drove four hours for it. Had to make other plans and arrangements that resulted in others having to make changes. I am just another person that does not matter.It’s okay. I posted on social media, left reviews, will tell every possible person I can at the other auctions I go to. Will tell customers, the BBB (what’s the difference between this and bait and switch?). Ohio Department of Agriculture will receive a complaint.Wonder why I got upset when asking about this.Have a wonderful day!

I have not tried the food. This review is not about that. I picked up an order for a customer, and what I saw was disturbing. It was a Saturday morning, and the VERY small space was packed like a can of sardines. No masks, no social distancing, the cooks were not wearing masks, the servers were, but at that point what does it matter. Obviously, the owner has zero respect for their staff & customers, and does not take this pandemic seriously. I will not return, ever, not even to pick up for customers. I do not like putting my customers, or myself in such danger. Stay away, on principle alone.

Received notification of auction through Invaluable. Spent a lot of time going over the items and decided to place some bids. The bids said pending, so I applied for approval to bid. About a week goes by and I get a reminder that the auction is today. So I log in and my bids are still showing pending, and the items are selling for less than what I bid! Ive dealt with this company before so WTH?Turns out that they are not accepting International bidders for this auction. Funny, didnt say that in the Terms & Conditions and its small stuff, not hard to ship. So the consignors just got jipped out of higher prices because this company cant be bothered to ship to Canada or elsewhere. Pretty micky mouse if you ask me. Why go on international sites like Invaluable or Live Auctioneers if you dont ship internationally? Shows their lack of concern for people when they cant be bothered to notify potential bidders, until they are contacted by those bidders on the day of the auction. Glad it wasnt my goods that got sold for next to nothing.

Completely lied about an all-terrain vehicle I purchased over the internet. The picture was edited to make the machine look decent. When it was delivered to me, it was a complete piece of junk. 100% misleading and scammed for over $1k for purchase and shipping. Will never purchase from these shysters ever again.

Apple tree provides their customers with a well lit, clean environment with comfortable seating during regular auctions in the gallery. Buyers need to consider what all the auction business of buying and selling entails.

Nice auction house but prices are high and buyers premium is really high. Also had a 9am start time and they took a lunch break just before 11:30. This was after driving almost 2hrs to attend this. Ive never been to an auction that took a lunch break. Waited over 4 1/2 hrs for items I came for and couldnt wait any longer. Went away empty handed. Total wast of time. Probably will not be go there again.

My own fault but while bidding on line Purchased a vintage horse statuette ( with enamel and 3 cabachons) I knew size was small 5x4 but... when i picked it up, it was nothing more than what a tourist shop would sell in India. I paid $120.I also purchased 4 items that were sold as ivory (old). Turns out it is NOT Ivory. The bracelet is plastic and the grains on the ivory necklace go in two different directions.Buyer Beware

I have been very pleased overall with all my purchases from Appletree .. I have been going there for 3 years, and have found it to be a positive buying experience .. my problem is that I am an elderly single person, and when it comes to purchasing large items, there seems never to be anyone around to help me load them into my truck .. I would think Appletree would be able to have some employees to assist customers with large item loading .. only on auction days ..

I recently discovered Apple Tree Auction Center and the experience was very good. I bought a number of items in the September auction and they all were described accurately. The shipping was well handled; quickly packed and shipped by the recommended UPS Pack & ship store. All good for me.

Looking at the pictures you can not tell hardly anything about the condition of the train its, Reading the description of the train item you cannot tell anything about the condition. As we all kno today condition is everything. But this auction house falls far short in a description that will help you want to bid on an item. Then the buyer has to make his own arrangements for packing and shipping so you are again in a quandary. The 20 percent commission is high especially since the auction house does not supply an adequate description or packing or shipping. I would not bid in this auction with these poor conditions and advise all buyers to be cautious when dealing with this auction house.

BUYER’S PREMIUMThis auction house charges you a “Buyer’s Premium”, as if it is somehow a great privilege that you are allowed to buy from them. Just think about it. Would you go into any other business and pay this. Go into any major or minor retailer. Pick say $1000.00 in merchandise. You get your sales slip and they want $1250.00 plus any applicable taxes. You show them the mistake and they tell you it is a “Buyer’s Premium”. Would you pay it? Why pay it here? The hammer price is the same as the price in a retail shop. Why are you paying more?The bidder has $1,000.00 to spend on an item you have consigned and must take into consideration the buyers premium. Say that premium is 20% that means on the $1,000.00 dollar item there is only $834.00 to spend before the rest is eaten away by the premium. The higher the premium the less the bidder has before the rest is eaten away by the premium.Just something to think about.

Rude and i pay for 14k gold when i received them was 10k gold (all 10k gold)..they just send me email and they say i cant bid any more???? of course they remove my name,, poor conditions and advise all buyers to be careful when dealing with this auction house ( if you buying gold)if you buying gold???

Very disappointed. Showcase was done at end of auction after everyone left. No highlighting of autographed items or publicity of the large lot of collectable . Even during actual auction, no identifying of desireable items, just rushing through to next lot. I would recommend not taking able special items there. They are okay for everyday items but not valuable or collectable otems.

For 5 days I had an online bid for and item posted with Appletree Auction. I was the winning bid. When the Appletree auction went live my bid was still the high bid. My item came up, # 2262 a cane, the auctioneer gave the item to a competing floor bidder that had bid the same price because he shouted $ 70 from the floor. Long story short Appletree ignored my winning bid. I will not use this disorganized auction house again.

Extremely poor customer service. Rude & Arrogant is giving them more credit than they deserve. 2 1/2 weeks after the auction no email, call, nothing, and when I called them Lilly was absolutely Arrogant and told me I have 2 million in merchandise from several auctions and your $190 item is in a pile to the side. Then they have the audacity to charge me $20 to ship my 1 inch/1 gram item. I would absolutely NOT use this auction house again, nor would I recommend it.

VERY bad experience with this auction! I am a Internet bidder and i rely on HONEST descriptions which i did NOT get. Bid and won lot of dollhouse dolls described as EXCELLENT when i received them they were broken and bad repairs! I tried SEVERAL times to contact this Co. and they Totally ignore me!!! NO response from this Co. BAD customer service!!! NOT happy!!!

Extremely disorganized and poor customer service. Spent months researching items we put up for auction. We provided Appletree with photos of items printed with descriptions and drive. Obviously never looked at photos and ignored the info we provided. Many items were mislabeled and sold for far under their value. Also several items that they took were lost, even though we provided photos of these items. Sold plastic containers that we had used to pack items in AFTER we told them several times not to do so. Several of these were $40 rolling bins. When we addressed these issues they said we hadnt said anything and that the bins didnt exist. After we pulled up video from auction, they admitted they were there and offered me $20 for $200 worth of heavy duty bins.When asked about the missing items, they said they never received them. One set of antique Fornasetti Coasters and two antique figurines were in the same box as the less expensive figurines that they did sell. When explained this and their value, the auctioneer actually sniggered at me. The exact same set of coasters on 1st Bids go for anywhere from $700-$1000.Also sold stuff at household auction without even having signed contract. Also told me wrong date of auction so I missed attending.Overall VERY unprofessional and disorganized. Concerns were addressed with arguing, and total lack of accountability for any wrongdoing.If you have items to sell I would advise you to go elsewhere.

They offer multiple ways to see and bid on items from box lots to the most unique and valuable treasures. In addition, Ive used Appletree to sell items for me. ** BUYER BEWARE **- SELLERS - Take your item to GARTHs Auction 8 miles west. Do yourself a favor.SUMMARY: Worst office staff and horrible owners Ive encountered in the business. FACT !This is by far the worst auction house I have dealt with. I normally deal with the 3 top VERY HIGH END auction houses. I have started to use some local auction houses now. They limited me to an absurd insulting $1,000 limit (2 bets at the blackjack table for me lol). Considering I personally own the most expensive 2015 Denali truck in the COUNTRY (that is whole US folks)! I spent more on taxes on my last purchase 2 days earlier from another auction house 10 miles away west - ( FAR BETTER AUCTION HOUSE, than Apple Tree). One would think I would get the highest service possible for being a small local auction house. Clearly NOT!****DO NOT**** I REPEAT...........DO NOT, use them. If you do you are doing at your own risk! Dont say I didnt warn you. You get all the heartache you deserve !!FYI to the owner: Did you pull the call where your office lady for 20+ yrs (you state) say that I had swore to her so she wanted to hang the phone up? So tell me who lied, you pull that call? Her or me, who lied? What I thought....but noooo you wanted to tell me youd rather believe her than me. Also you can BLACKLIST anyone...youre doing yourself a favor and me a favor! I hope this auction house goes out of business and you can take your attitudes with you.I personally spend about $3-4K+ every 2 weeks at ANY GIVEN auction house for my personal collection. I sold roughly 5K worth of antique heirlooms from my fathers estate (I know they were mostly antique and their value as my family is in the business and I regularly sell to the much more honest reseller Grandview Mercantile Revu in Columbus--I understand this is an auction house but then be more HONEST about the PENNIES ON A DOLLAR I WILL GET SO I COULD HAVE GONE ANOTHER ROUTE and even made a profit since I regularly sell to GRANDVIEW) to Appleby. I asked if I should sell to a local antique store instead to get a better value. The owners (a couple) said that it was up to me, granted, but every time I asked if I would get the value, they indicated it was an auction but when I pressed they said I would get fair market value. I pressed and pressed to try and understand. For instance, a farmhouse table worth over 1000, they said You might not get near that. For an antique clock estimated at $600K, they said You wont get quite that. For an antique scale I asked if I should sell it to a a local home salvage yard that offered me $200, they stated that they were one of the most famous auction houses around. The woman seemed so impressed with my antique dolls and paintings. Bottom line: they were purposefully vague. What did I get for over $5000? ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY ONE DOLLARS (that included hauling). AT NO TIME DID THEY INDICATE THAT I MIGHT RECEIVE PENNIES (A PENNY MORE LIKE IT) ON MY DOLLAR. I PRESSED AND PRESSED, KNOWING I HAD TWO OTHER VIABLE OPTIONS OF WHERE TO TAKE IT. I was glad they would move it and suckered into the nice older couple, dressed in classic preppy clothes. WHAT A CROCK. I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED FIVE TIMES AS MUCH FOR A WRITE-OFF, DELIVERY INCLUDED.

When on the phone talking about shipping the doll I won in a live auction, the auctioneer Mark Harris asked me If I take the dolls head off, can you put it back on? When I asked him if he was kidding me, he hung up the phone.Collectors BEWAREThey do not give condition reports in the auction listings either.
