The main guy is about the meanest old cuss since Ebenezer Scrooge. Some of the underlings are decent and they do carry a lot of things.
Don’t bother with this place. I tried to give it a few chances but it’s not worth it. The selection is average at best and the man behind the counter, who acts like the owner, is both lazy and extremely rude. He clearly has no idea how to run a business. Other staff were nice and helpful.
The owner is aggressively unpleasant and the store is old and tired.
Really attentive and helpful staff made my errand totally lovely.
Extremely rude and unhelpful. If you have a question.. better ask Google rather than the rude guy behind the counter.Dont bother going there..
Such a great store. No pretensions. Cheerful staff. Huge selection. Love it.
This place is much better than OK. Owner and staff very helpful even if you don’t know what you need and vaguely describe a problem in your apt.
OK Hardware is NOT OK at all. The guy behind the counter was rude, obnoxious and disrespectful, especially to the woman that worked with him behind the counter. Taking my business elsewhere!
I have been going to OK for decades. I always check with them first, because, almost always, they have what I am looking for, often things I cant find elsewhere on short notice. They have always been kind and helpful with me. This is not only my favorite Hardware store, but my favorite store in the neighborhood. It is an invaluable part of the Soho/Chinatown area (and one of the few old stores left) and I hope it stays open many decades to come.
Owner is a miserable human being. His service and demeanor are comically bad. If you’re in the neighborhood and bored go into his store and ask him any question and enjoy the dumbfounded look on his face in reaction to a customer having the audacity to ask for assistance.
The white guy that looks like Chinese is a rude person if you ask him for something and he don’t have it he gets mad and not happy to answer you or help you miserable place to go to buy
The owner acts like he doesnt want customers there. Was aggressive and hostile as soon as I walked in, asking What do you want?? When I told him, he said I dont like your tone!! Youre nasty! for literally no reason and I was ejected from the store within about 90 seconds. Not surprised to see similar reviews on here. I feel bad for him and his employees. Do everyone a favor and yourselves by going somewhere else! Hoo boy lol
The owner was extremely rude, it was almost funny. He answered questions by cutting me off or in a sarcastic manor. I was speechless. I feel sorry for his worker - he was very helpful.
Unfortunately even though they were ‘conveniently ‘ located, it was worth a cab ride to Home Depot on 23rd street to save SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS!Best to avoid the high prices AND attitude.
NO VISA - Does not accept Visa cards - instead of sorry for the inconvenience prepare for a lecture about credit card policies. Clearly holding a grudge against Visa is more important than customers. Will never be back.
Name of store should be called NOT OK HARDWARE . Nasty person behind register. He hates the world and his life
The cashier couldn’t care less about customer service or his guests. He’s actually pretty nasty. Won’t waste my time here again.
Very convenient hardware store with a fairly large selection and a helpful staff.
Guy behind the counter oblivious to customers. Phone call seemed more important
This place is exactly how everyone describes it. They have a lot but youre on your own.
The guy working the floor was nice however whoever the guy behind the counter was couldnt have been much less pleasent
Theyve got everything you need. They are super helpful 😊
They have everything
This place refused me service because my boss was not available to sign for $18 worth of supplies on our Business AMEX. When I explained that we were in the middle of moving offices and he was very busy, he told me to take my business elsewhere because I kept complaining. He somehow tried to argue he was losing money if I signed for the card. Its worth noting I found the same stuff at Centre Hardware around the corner for 5 bucks cheaper and they didnt give me any grief at all.
I have relied more and more on OK as our local hardware stores seem to be vanishing being replaced by show stores primarily it seems. Cant be easy. Always found them helpful with what I have needed.
The owner is the rudest person who has absolutely no sense of customer service (he almost insulted me) and is despicable to his employees in the way he addresses them. I live right above the store and lust say that I’d rather walk a few blocs to avoid bringing business to such a business.
This place Is horrible. The owner is Rude and disrespectful. I called ahead looking for a specific screw which they told me they had and when I got there they did not have it and when I politely ask the owner how come they Told me they had them he told me to stop lecturing him. Would not recommend this place to anybody
These guys are bad. Like soup-nazi bad. Grouchy, cynical and impatient. Cash only under $20. No returns. I think they dont accept Visa (who does that) because of one bad experience they had with Visa... Absolute minimal customer service. That being said, they have the basics you would need from a hw store, and they duplicate keys. And theyre so bad its actually kind of fun to go there and see how theyre doing and try to cheer them up a bit.
Horrible customer service. Asked if the owner had a product and they said I dont know why dont you call the sales rep?!. Also the owner was very disrespectful to one of the staff members. Treated him like he wasnt even there.
A REAL hardware store. And in soho.
The man who owns hardware store is a racist. He reminds me of Asian man in menace to society.dnt bring them business he talks down to all minorities
Abismal. Dont waste your time.
Terrible service, nobody cared on what I was looking for and the employees themselves mock customers. Never coming back ever again.
The store never open at 9:30 am!Im here at 9:50am store still closed!
I have been living in the neighborhood for 6 years nowfrankly they will talk to you and get you what you needi understand where the other comments come from but still, the place works somehowhardware stores downtown dont have the best of customer service, but they try
They dont accept visa. who doesnt accept visa? thats exactly what i told the cashier and he had some pretty messed up things to say back close to verbal abuse... wish i could give this place negative stars. PLEASE save yourself and dont go to this hardware store
Don’t use these guys to copy keys. The duplicates don’t work.
Similar customer service and knowledge as a rural Burger King. Also no Visa cards? Why?
I dont know how they are still in business ...
Went for work, wouldn’t take company card
Rude service. Doesnt take company cards.
Great for all the basics.
If I could rate this miserable place negative stars, I would.
When your contractor and you need something in a pinch this is the place!
When to look for flat washes,,,the guy told look some places else, with an attitude.
THEY DON’T TAKE VISA CARDS
Great service
Does not accept visa
Who doesnt accept Visa?
Overpriced but convenient
Worst of the worst
Good customer service
