As a guide, prices are 25-100% higher than Wholefoods. Service is terrible - I’ve had a cashier tell me to “hold on” while he writes a text on his phone! Selection of groceries is average. The one upside, most things are in abundance because the prices are so high!

Well organized and clean. It has a lot of the typical items any supermarket would carry plus the added section of a deli counter.I just wish they had more cashiers and a better selection of meats.

An old time favorite. Coming back to NY I was delighted to find hard rolls. Something I couldnt get in Florida nor Suffolk County NY.The manager is a caring community leader. He runs a tight ship since the store is bright and super clean.

2021 Fall. Picked up some food for a picnic in central park. Fresh yummy sushi $6.95 Seaweed salad $4.95.

My review is solely on the store bought sushi. Its made fresh at around 10:30am. Their prices for sushi are very reasonable compared to most things in this store. If you dont have time to get sushi at some fancy location, swing by here and get some. It will taste better than most places, except Mitsuwa of course. The sushi pictured cost around 11.95.

We went to this store last Saturday to buy foods and other things in preparation for my daughters birthday. The workers at this location were so accommodating that we were able to shop there on a regular basis. All was in order!

There are sushi sellers now. I buy a box of sushi combo which is very fresh fish and delicious. The price is reasonable

All inside was clearly labelled and classified, so I had no trouble finding the ingredients. This is a spot I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. I went here to get some spaghetti sauce.

For such an expensive store the service here is terrible. We went from free bags and someone bagging the groceries, to paying for bags and the cashier sipping coffee while waiting for people to bag the groceries and everyone else standing theyre waiting as well. What is the purpose of the cashiers at all? You might as well put in self-checkout.

Best grocery store to shop! Their delivery is quick, the food is packed well in a minute or two. You will interact with the person putting together the grocery stores if there are substitutes needed for out-of-stock products, and their employees are courteous and supportive. Id like to suggest this store!

My two black friends were being followed around the store by security staff to see if they were stealing. They only let me know about it after I had already checked out because they didn’t want me to make a scene. Horrible prices, with horribly rude staff, will never set foot in this store ever again.

Coming from out of town (Maryland) and this was my 2nd time visiting this store in a week. The store was clean. Great customer service. I even saw the manager out on the floor working. Everyone including the manager was friendly. Crystal at the register was very helpful and polite. She remembered me from my first visit when I checked out at a different register. Josh from the deli counter, not only did he make good suggestions on what items to try, but he saw I needed help getting a Lyft. He was on a break and took the time to stay with me until my Lyft arrived and he put my groceries in the trunk of the Lyft. I will never forget such kind and friendly people.

Left NYC for 3 months because of the Corona Virus, came back to order supplies to restock my apartment, I found no prices on any of the items, and when you bring the items you think they are priced it doubles at the register. All of the prices doubled since I have left, staff was nasty. Thank god John Catsimatidis did not become the mayor of NYC. I am a republican and will never vote for a crook. I own a business in NYC and I dont gauge my customers. Unlike 9 out of 10 people who get mistreated and just dont come back, I will complain and NOT see if anything has changed, most complainers come back to see if improvements were applied. What I love best about Gristedes is that its never crowded. Its great to be able to go in, get what you need and leave within a decent time range.

The store was just remodeled in January of 2019, so everything is brand new. Aisles are organized well and the store is laid out logically. The range of food from cheap store brands to organic top shelf stuff is better than most NYC grocers. Say hi to my friend Patty the cashier!

The store was expensive but not bad co.pared to other store around midtown Manhattan. We went to about 3 different grocery stores and was 2 times more than the price at Griatede. I guess it was better and the staff were friendly.

Very low quality items at extremely high prices. I personally would say go to the Whole Foods two blocks from here, it’s miles ahead in terms of quality and generally the same prices as you’ll find here. If you work around here, shop at home. If you live here, shop somewhere else for produce and get your nonperishables online. If you’re a tourist, enjoy the incredible food options that midtown Manhattan has to offer and get your snacks/drinks at Duane Reade or CVS which both have better prices. There just aren’t a lot of good reasons to waste your money here, at a dirty and overpriced supermarket.

The workers are so ghetto. They look a mess while they can barely focus on working because they’re too busy chatting amongst each other. The fat, whale manager lady also just stands around distracting everyone talking to the cashiers while waving her tacky 3 inch long finger nails around with a sassy attitude. Aside from the employees it’s an ok grocery store with expensive prices.

I feel so so so sorry for anyone living in Midtown that has to shop at this place, outrageously high prices, limited selection, and a layout that feels like youre walking through a maze...youre actually better off buying groceries at Duane Reade or CVS, at least there you will not be gouged.

Overpriced and not very cleanly kept. Their produce is of questionable quality - a couple times I bought cartons of berries only to open them at home and find mold growing on them. Their saving grace is in their location and the fact that they are open 24/7.

Gristedes makes Whole Foods look like heaven. If I can help it - Id shop about anywhere else. The prices are high for mass goods. I mean - we paid $6 for Klassen pickles, almost $4 for an 8 pack of Pepperdine farm hamburger buns, $5 for shredded cabbage. All of these would actually be cheaper at Whole Foods by a lot and better quality. Its no reason this place is a ghost town almost all the time BUT... I give it 3 stars because sometimes they have stuff other grocery stores wouldnt have like toothpicks AND I appreciate that its open until 3AM. Last night my instacart girl messed up my grocery order and I had to prepare something for todays Super Bowl party but I wasnt getting back home until 11pm. Gristedes was there for me and I was able to make my overnight pulled pork.Thanks Gristedes!

This grocery market has doubled prices on each of their products. Not a good selection and it hurts to spend 80 to 100 dollars and have hardly any groceries. Emergency only market. If you need one thing and cant wait to get it at a real grocery store on market. Price actually doubled on grocerues.. ..extremely few if any sale items. Ice Cream selection was brewers for 1/2 gallons a only flavors were vanilla, chocolate, coffee with nothing amazing yet its almost 8 dollars for a container of brewers. 7 dollars for hagen Daz or Ben and Jerrys pints. Ridiculous.
