This past Friday I bought salmon here. I was awake all night with 4 bouts of diarrhea from eating it. Worse, the person with whom I shared the salmon dinner had to drive to Rhode Island the next morning and he had to stop twice beside the road on I-84 to soil the highway with this horrendous past its prime salmon. Not a pretty sight for motorists driving by who were busy screaming at him.Thank god he had the NY Post with him, about the only time that worthless rag was good for anything. So avoid their salmon unless having dysentery appeals to you.
Always great! I had the lentil soup and it was amazing.
This local grocery store has all the things I like. And they also give a fantastic price for each piece. Im only going to shop here for my personal and essential needs.
Nice Customer service
Gourmet Garage continues to deliver on fresh quality chef calibre ingredients for people who actually cook. Thanks goodness they are hanging in there. A neighborhood ESSENTIAL.
This place is awesome. Choices for everyone.I was just in NY for a business trip and I had just a few minutes most work week days to grab some lunch. This place was perfect for that.
Great soups, really good salad bar and the meal deal at the deli case is a great value for the area. Have a decent grocery section but the hot/prepared food is definitely what keeps me coming back.
Like whole foods but costs more
One of few only places around here for lunch. Food is really okay for the price-not bad but not great for SoHo price.
Great health store thats been there since 1993. Delicious, fresh, healthy prepared food and groceries, and free delivery! Just more expensive than a Whole Foods or Trader Joes so be prepared for that. The staff is friendly just wait for the green light before you insert your debit/credit/EBT card or youll break the machine. And avoid coming at lunch time because thats when most of the people come.
Great store with quality items from fruit to canned goods.Good hours and friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and ready to help make a decision.Health-Ade goes on sale often and is the best Kombucha out there.Tight store so dont come at lunch time.5pm or later is perfect timing to come shopNeed a snack, they got that too
Good source of specialty items. Still have limited butcher services. Closer to our loft than Whole Foods and a few luxury goods not available at Trader Joes.
Amazing hot bar, bagels, sushi, vegan grocery options!
Wide variety of choices
I am seriously addicted to this Tomato Cheddar soup that they make. Lately, they have not had it and I have been soooo disappointed each time. Thats how good I find this soup.Today, I asked one of the employees who was replenishing the soup bar if the Tomato Cheddar would be making an appearance any time soon. He said he thought he might have some downstairs. This kind man, who turned out to be Chef Andre, went out of his way to go and get the soup for me!!! That was definitely a random act of kindness and it absolutely made my day. Yes, its just soup and it made me happy but moreover its that this man would go out of his way to do that for a total stranger. That is what I call Customer Service!I will include Chef Andre in my prayers of gratitude. That being said, the other food stuffs that Gourmet Garage offers is good so I would recommend the store for that too.
Great soups, really good salad bar and the meal deal at the deli case is a great value for the area. Have a decent grocery section but the hot/prepared food is definitely what keeps me coming back.
18 different olive oil, 1 peanut oil. No vegetable oil. It’s clear the store only carries what it can overcharge. It’s the grocery store of last resort.
At one point when I lived in the village this was the place to go to to buy fresh and unique ingredients at reasonable prices. Now the landscape has changed and this place is no longer as unique as it used to be. Its also lacking a bit in the customer service area.
Great little market with high quality items. Good sandwiches and hot bar for lunch!
I love the selection and the quality, but its pretty expensive. Then again, its a grocery store on Broome street. Good variety of (presumably) fresh soups.
This is a great place to get a good meal to go. Their sushi bar is superb. They have a good selection of vegetarian and vegan meals as well.
Best place in SOHO to pick groceries, have coffee, and pick up delicious cold and warm sandwiches. Must try: Eggplant Mozzarella Sandwich
Very good food for a good price! It was a police man recommendation and I dont regret it.
This is a small upscale grocery that is very carefully curated. They might not have what you need, but theyll definitely have something that you want, from the fresh-made salads and sandwiches to the shelves of snacks and munchies to the unusual frozen and refrigerated items.
Very fresh mozzarella cheese! The tomato and mozarella cheese sandwich is a must try. This is also a grocery store with a wide variety of food.
This place is expensive AF!! Its almost as bad as Dean & DeLuca. HA! Just be warned. Get ready to spend an arm and a leg. However they have a bunch of organic and natural foods, if youre into it. You might find something you like. Its open kinda late.
Ive only been here a few times, but I love it here. They have a wide variety of quality goods, which is perfect for me when grabbing lunch during a busy work week. My coworkers and I go here often - check them out!
Awesome place to get something delicious for breakfast in NYC especially Soho
The chicken noodle soup w was great
Love this shop. The variety of food is wonderful. Can we get one in the UK?
Closed 20 minutes before closing. Id understand if it was a sit down restaurant, but it only takes 5 minutes to buy something. Waste of time and energy.
The place is filthy - look up at the ceiling - the pipes, pictures, light fittings are CAKED in filth... revolting in a food store. I hate their addiction to plastic containers, and waste in general. The prices are ridiculous, and quality just isnt there to justify it. Shop like a chef. I dont think so. Look at the miserly salmon thats hideously presented in more wasteful packaging. The fresh section is really disappointing and poorly maintained. Full of tired produce that should no longer be on sale.
I seen Jake Gyllenhaal here looking like a scrub. So it made me feel pretty good about myself knowing that I too shop at a place he does.
Good lunch spot in Soho with sushi, sandwiches, a salad bar and hot food options as well. It is also a full grocery store with basic needs and a quality looking butcher. Sadly like everything else in this neighborhood it is a bit expensive.
Selling a good variety of products in a somewhat cramped sure. A useful place to pick up dinner ingredients. They also have prepared foods.
Love it!! Great selections. AMAZING customer service. My go-to neighborhood grocer!!
A good supermarket in the heart of Soho. Wide choice but a little pricy.
Great rotating variety of quality hot soups for a quick, filling, affordable lunch (try the chili!) and lots of unique never-seen-elsewhere snacks & bottled drinks
Compact deli, fine foods store that will please you.
Great selection and quality but everything is way overpriced/oddly priced. A 4 oz chicken Cesar bites cost 4.99 but the full 12 oz wrap bites cost 6.49?? Does that make any sense?
I work around the area and stop by here sometimes to grab food. I came here to buy a taco and had to return it because the paper was stuck to the taco, I switched it out for another one and it was the same issue. The cashier who was a male seemed irritated when I complained about it!! Why would I pay almost 4$ for a taco and want to eat it with paper superglued to it!! Because of him I will never return and spend a dollar of my money here.
The shelves are a bit bare but if youre in the neighborhood and needy you can do worse. I think primarily this place is geared for gourmets who live in the neighborhood, or people wandering by who want to piece together a healthy picnic. Quality is great, and prices are New York average.
Good quality products. Unique and novel at a somewhat premium price but not as bad as other gourmet specialty food stores.
The best soups, ranging from hearty ones to vegan options! Also decent sushi bar and hot foods to go. My favorite item they sell is a twizzler-looking fruit twist, no other store besides GG sells them in the city. Cherry is addictive!
I went to get Japanese eggplant they looked great and very organized shelves.
Definitely over priced food but very on brand for SOHO. Love all the various food options!
This store is really clean and upscale. Plus, if you are in the $5-10 Million tax bracket you will find the prices very affordable!
Great food selection. Love grabbing quick lunches to go here
Prices only a sheikh would love. Pro tip: head to Trader Joe’s a few blocks away for better savings and selection.
Great neighborhood market!
Not great overall. Poor quality, but a very lovely staff.
Lovely selection of fresh cheeses and meats along with the usual suspects you would want from a grocery store.
Dont you waste your time or money here.
I always liked the variety of products at gourmet garage and in general like this store- but two days ago had some TERRIBLE food poisoning from a chicken salad wrap sandwich ( it was the only thing i ate and i ate it the day of purchase).. could have been the mayo.. be careful. it took me two days to recover.
Love this lil grocer; great selections and everything is fresh and delicious
The food there is never good allways something wrong all you can really get is a salad.
A great selection of fresh vegetables, fish, sushu and organic options.
Fancy and pricey, a little cramped and always packed during lunch time but a nice selection of fine produce and cheeses.
+++- I really wanted to eat everything here- Bacon brussels sprouts are awesome++- Baked goods and cookies are delicious+- Colloquial staff is nice- I cant wait to go back for the hot station-- Kind of expensive. $23 for two lunches two lemonades and a cookie- No place to sit :(
Great selection and service. Good cold brew coffee too!
Delicious and wide range of soups
Its a good place to get a wide variety of food.. but pretty expensive by the pound
Delish! Such a great healthy lunch option
Grabbed a quick bite to take on ferry.
The soups and the hot food are both, really good.
Good shop; been here for a while.
Decent food. Pricey but cheap compared .ost SoHo lunch spots.
Awesome staff. V helpful!!
If you like overpaying for rotten fruits and vegetables this is the place to go.
Probably best for packaged groceries, some prepared foods and celeb-spotting. Produce and cheese are unfortunate.
Well stocked selection of fresh food
Rip off with prices, went over 6 minutes, charged us for another hour!
Awesome employees and good selection!
So much vegan food. Quite expensive but so great when you need a quick lunch.
Great lunch grabbing spot.
Clean store, good selection.
Discusting food, no AC, wont even let me use the bathroom and give me a cup of water. Horrible service!
Large selection deli but i went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no one available to make a sandwich
OK sandwiches, not the best-quality ingredients
Rude cashiers, overpriced and bad vegetables. Don’t go.
Good sushi. Overpriced
Expensive. Packed. Food bland.
Good food, good prices for the area
Can be expensive, but good salad bar.
An impressive selection
Great soup
Expensive grocery store in Soho. Its Soho!
Low quality. High prices.
Awesome coffee
Loved it
Wont do without it
Cashier attitude rude and inattentive
