Step back to the middle ages with a trip to the cloisters in uptown manhattan. Take the A train or the M4 bus, or you can drive your car. Surprisingly there is some parking in front of the Museum (most of the time). For now the Museum is close, but most of the time I visit for the amazing views.

I think this is the main museum in New York. here you can see the ancient history of Egypt, Rome, Greece, various sculptures, the classical art gallery. also very often hold various exhibitions
