Nice to walk and meet new folks.
The Dairy Visitor Center and Gift shop is nice, BUT the reason this is a 5 is because if you have made it here, and you are interested in finding the remaining hidden survey bolt in Central Park, you are warm, so close. The bolt was put in the ground by John Randel Jr. in the early 1800s, as he planned the Manhattan grid we know today (google it). Its much smaller than you think, and its exact location is kept a secret by those that know where it is... its a bit of a treasure hunt.
Ok
Highly recommend the Central Park walking tours!! Went with my coworkers as a team event and it was so interesting and fun.
Quaint and quiet little visitors center. Very cute souvenirs available. Also, great historic building.
The carousel itself is pleasant and this makes a nice 10 minute family activity when visiting Central Park. However, the immediate surrounding area is very run-down and not really picturesque. The brick-built carousel enclosure really needs some attention, weeds were everywhere and a heavily damaged public payphone hangs off the wall, with graffiti daubed across it. Also, some of the benches here were damaged, this made for an uncomfortable place to stop for any length of time.
Such a beautiful place!!! The workers were so nice and explained on a map where things were. And the prices for goods wasnt crazy expensive but around $8 for a really nice gift
Nice place to visit and you can buy gift your friends or family. Oldest building in Central Park. Nice!
Wonderful place, great gifts good prices. Good history available by staff
Nice selection of nature, NYC and park themed gifts. Purchasing helps support the park. Nice childrens section. I bought a cut bat puppet and some jewelry made from real leaves coated in gild to give as gifts. Cute shirts, scarves, puzzles, mugs and such.
A wonderful, small visitors center and gift shop in the southern half of Central Park. There are free maps and plenty of items (shirts, books, gifts, posters) associated with Central Park for purchase. The staff are friendly, and Id recommend stopping by to figure out where to go in Central Park or to pick up a gift and help support Central Park.
A picturesque building in a beautiful park. Good view of park from this location. Friendly staff with freely offered tourist information. I like this location in the park because it is away from the buzz of traffic.
Great place to get a gift, and they have an online store if you dont want to lug purchases around.
Helpful maps, friendly people and a cute gift shop with things you dont see anywhere else.
I was very disappointed in their customer service yesterday. I asked if there was any place I could possibly charge my cell phone as I needed to stay in touch with my husband who has Alzheimers. I am always in fear that we would be separated and Central Park is huge!! I was abruptly told no and no recommendation or assistance was offered.Shortly thereafter I came upon the Gift Shop near the Zoo and the lovely, lovely girl did not hesitate. She pushed some clothing aside and allowed me to use an outlet on the wall. There were even stools nearby. Thank you Kimesha. Thumbs down to the older woman at the Dairy Visitor Center.
On July 20, 2016, was going to take a last walk thru the Park when we came upon The Dairy Visitor Center. In that center, we spoke to Hansel H who provided us with a road map of the park and sites not to miss before we leave. He was very knowledgeable and Helpful.Would like to Thank him very much for being so kind and guiding us in the right direction. It means a lot to folks unfamiliar with the park.Thank you; Hansel
I had a lovely conversation today here with the lady who works the desk on Friday. The little store has maps, books on the park, t-shirts, sweatshirts, memoralabilia, etc. It is a pleasant atmosphere and helpful resource.
Beautiful historic building, nice place to rest or take shelter from the elements. Gift shop is what youd expect. Also a great place to birdwatch.

Lots of history
Friendly staff!!
As we collected magnets, we bought. In addition, there are many Imagine products and you will want to buy them in commemoration. Automatic folding umbrella was heavy, but was pretty and bought. It is fun just looking at photo books, picture books, postcards, T-shirts, scarves and toys. A cashier will ask you to donate to preserve the parks nature.
I really like this little shop in Central Park ... (with stuff stamped Central Park ... like the hoodie I bought myself .....)
So cute!! You can not lose this!!!
Cute gifts to give
Its small, but they have nice things. They did not have everything on the page. There are volunteers who help answer questions and give a free map of the park and nearby streets.
Ok shop!
I just passed there. Do not know
Lots of cute gifts about Central Park
Uptown is the northern part of Manhattan and as always happens with the North, by far, the wealthiest neighborhood in New York. Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum and Withney Museum are three of the largest museums in the city in this part of Manhattan. To the west we find the American Museum of Natural History, Lincoln Center and St. Johns Cathedral The Divine. Along the north edge of Uptown is Harlem occupied mostly by citizens of African American origin. In the east end of Harlem is the so-called Spanish Harlem, mostly occupied by Puerto Rican citizens.
It is very well located and has very complete maps
Small nice shop in central paru, a bit expensive ...
