Wonderful local family business with many Harlem centered gifts, books, posters, and overall details. Lovely shop owner and great environment. Came for gift cards and left with cooking books, small prints, magnets, and a new favorite place to buy gifts in the neighborhood.

Effective 12/10/20 my overall review has changed. The owner of Nilu was nice enough to diligently rectify this mistake that was made on the part of the Post Office and not the boutique which I am truly grateful for. There personal touch in trying to rectify an issue stands out for me. I totally recommend all to visit and purchase from this unique boutique.

Someone on Facebook asked for places to shop in the home area. I read the reviews of this little shop and when I saw the name I recognised it because I have passed it many times driving a walking down Lenox Avenue. I decided to go into this little shop and my, OH my, I was taken aback by the beautiful things I saw the pleasant smells I smell and prices that was so reasonable it was my 1st time in this beautiful shop the owner was absolutely an amazing and wonderful woman And I ended up spending a $119. It was such a wonderful experience I brought my dear dear friend the next day to the shop and she spent almost a $100. I suggest anyone in the Harlem area or if you are just visiting, Please seek out this wonderful store and trust me, You will not be disappointed.Thank you Katrina for all of your hard work and wonderful buy it will truly pay off for you in the end. Im a big fan of NiLu. I do most of my gift shopping here because everything in the store appears to be handcrafted and unique. They have an extremely welcoming environment with impeccable sales associates. Also, its really awesome to have a place to go to support several local vendors/artisans in one place.

The NiLu Gift Shop was a breathe of fresh air in a gift shop industry that all look the same.I received a postcard in the mail about their store and their offerings and was instantly drawn to a few pieces.The next day I went into the store and purchased the cards. The help I received was great and even got to talk to one of the artist. I will be going back to NiLu soon. As they continue to get more independent items in.

Just left this shop...will Never return...as an artist and native Harlemite I try to support the community. The sister was Rude! My sister asked her a question about a vintage style phone (on if it were a wireless type or a traditional jack phone....its just a regular phone, she then turned up the music and proceeded to have an extremely Loud phone conversation....all while never leaving her seat behind the counter.....when this storefront is replaced by another business I will Not shed a tear

After living in Harlem over 10 years I was excited to have a new gift shop in the area but after my experience here I will never go back. From the time I entered the store to the time I left, the sales associate never got off the phone. She never greeted me or asked me if I needed help and I purchased something. Whats more off putting is that the conversation she was having was nothing I, as the customer, should have been overhearing. It made me really uncomfortable. If I wasnt in need of a gift, I would have left.

I highly recommend this place, it is very quaint and the lady is super nice and very knowledgeable.
