This is a terribly, run store. I dont understand the objective of this store. Do they exist to sale items or just to hoard them. For example, I ask for a draw string bag, which was of cheap quality, which they wanted $13 dollars for a $6 dollar item, which they could sale for $5 dollars. I asked the manager to lower the price, he refused and I found a superior draw string bag, from Adidas, mind you, from Target for $5 dollars. The rule of sales, is dont overestimate the worth of your merchandise. Noodles, packages, are like close too a dollar per package and the same package can be purchased at Morton Williams, for .29 cents. Morton Williams, mind you, has a lot of items which are less expensive and far superior than items at this store.

This is one of the best discount stores Ive had the pleasure of encountering. There have items on stock that one would have a difficult time finding at other discount stores. Its also conveniently located near the 47-50th St Rockefeller Center station as well as several MTA bus lines.

They dont sell much compared to the likes of Dollar Tree, even though they might be the only other dollar store that sells ear plugs.Its like most dollar stores in NYC: small, cramped, dirty looking and messy. Its in Midtown Manhattan, where they are very few dollar stores (Jacks being the only other one I can think of), so it might be worth going just for that.

The experience was terrible. When I asked them where the headphones were they acted so rude. They said Use maners in a very rude and condesending tone. The prices are also very expensive. A simple pair of headphones is $4. Do not shop here. The prices are very expensive and the people there are so rude.

Terrible place, rude employees, and this one rude employee with long curly hair.i walked in to get a calculator, headphones and a Arizona iced tea. and i know not to buy headphones from the dollar store ive learned that lesson a million times.but i didnt have my headphones and so i got them. the calculator was small and will break in 2 weeks causing me to go to staples and getting a Casio calculator for $10 and will last me 5 years. the headphones are too overpriced. the dollar tree by my house that has headphones for way cheaper.and this rude woman who i mentioned before asks if i need help.i say yea can i get headphones? she proceeds to say polite 100 times before i say it and another gentleman helps me out instead then she says politeness 100 other times and then i ignored her as i had to still get headphones and a arizona.she was an employee and the other employees were rude as well.i only come here because i have no other choice.id rather overpay at Walgreens. never coming here again, dont recommend it at all.

One of the largest follow store in Manhattan. Many inexpensive household items in two levels. Friendly service staff. The basement is the diacount section while the ground floor is the traditional follow store. However, many dollar store items are sold at more than one dollar there, probably due to the high rent.

I havent explored this entire store as of yet. But I will! I love this place and I love that its located in a place that is so expensive. I end up paying about half or less than half of what I would pay for products at Duane Read, here. Its like love in a hopeless place lol. Seriously though! My fave store around here!

Beware. Do not buy any unpackaged liquid or spray items from this store because you will not be able to return it, get a refund or credit. Customers have been returning these types of items, using the items, filling them up with water and then trying to get a refund. This makes it bad for loyal customers to get a credit. I was a victim of this. I had to call corporate and get approval to return and get a credit for some bug spray I didnt need. Lesson learn and thank you to corporate making this one in a life time exception!

Good place to find sought after items

Good place to buy all your party materials. Love to shop the collections they got. They have seasonal decorative items too. But thats not it. They have few groceries items and household supplies. Most of the items are cheap and good quality. I have not bought any perishable items here so cannot comment on that.

They had almost everything a person needs or have forgotten. I bought myself this nice long, thin scarf to tie my head up. The clerk informed me that NY has banned all styrofoam (kudos) so, I bought a bucket with handles to put ice in for our drinks (the hotel doesnt have refrigerators in the room. But, the have small safes; although we didnt try to use them), to later discover that it had a leak. But for $1.79 it worked good enough from the hotels bathroom sink (We trashed it on departure). I loved that they carried a small bottle of apple cider vinegar (as well as large bottles)

Shocked to have found this little gem. Its actually huge inside. They have everything you might need from a Target (smaller items) at reasonable prices. There are two floors here and you can get items for your home from the bedroom, bath, to the kitchen. This is more like a regular convenience store. Dont go in expecting to get trinkets and curios in the $1-$5 range... You will find some, but it is not the same as a typical dollar store.For basic supplies, this is a good store in the neighborhood with reasonable prices, especially for Central Manhattan

Affordable. A relief from regular Manhattan prices. Its worth checking here for whatever you need. Everything youd expect to find in a dollar store, including daily necessities, plus lots of unique gift items and New York City souvenirs to take back home.

This is a large store for what used to be a 99¢ store. Large selections, good prices for NYC, and fairly quick checkout. A bit confusing is the overlapping selection in the basement level where you find more substantial merchandise.

Nice shop to get cheap stuff. They have a lot of variety. I would recommend getting things on the go from here.

Sales persons always helping OUT

The African man at the door is extremely rude and disrespectful to Black/African customers. I was jogging up the stairs and as soon as he saw me, he mimicked my movements with a condescending smirk on his face. He would never do this to a white person. If management cares about its black customers, they should show him the door and find a better replacement before someone files a complaint against the store for harassment.

I just purchased $50 worth of goods and paid with 100. There was a line so i pocketed my change and got out of the way. I counted my change to find out that the cashier scammed me out of $20. The store is now closed and they have no message system set up so this is unfortunately my only recourse. Either the cashier doesnt know how to count or she short changed me $20 on purpose as she looked me in the eye. Either way, there are PLENTY stores like this one in this city. I would recommend spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

Not only is this place filthy, everything in there is ratchet and cheap. And dont even think about returning something you bought if you opened the package, even if it could easily be reclosed - they do not take returns. Stay away.

The prices are a bit higher than I thought, but they have a good selection and variety of inventory and things. This is probably the closest one dollar store from Grand Central.

Gift bags wrapping paper bows party favors. I got 27 items for 36 bucks that would have easily gone over 100 elsewhere.

Very cheap, there is a variety of cute boxes for presents or as souvenirs, toys for kids, food, bath stuff, kitchen utensils, etc. A bunch of things, even luggage. Note: you have to pay in cash if you buy for less than $10!
