We worked with Emanuel on creating the perfect custom engagement ring. I liked the setting on one ring with its vintage look, but the larger halo on another. He assured us they could make a custom ring and even tweaked the vintage band to make it look even better. It was our first stop, so we tried to shop around, but after six more places had nothing even close, we had to go back. The custom ring turned out better than we could have ever imagined! We had to go back to get our wedding bands and again had a great experience. Beautiful work and the best value.

After looking at nearly 70 different stones at multiple family “hook ups” and just simply not being blown away I was ready to settle on a particular diamond. Some late night Chrono24 sleuthing made me stumble onto Sea Wave Diamonds. During a trip to look at some diamonds at another retailer on 47th, I decided to stop in and look at the watch I was eyeing online.Over the 3 or so months of searching, I was used to the feeling of walking into a jeweler and being treated as though my non-six-figure purchase is not worth the jewelers time, or, even worse, that the jeweler is trying to take advantage of a customer’s lack of knowledge or experience. Constantly being told, “that imperfection won’t be visible,” “this is a great stone” and “it may be gone tomorrow.” Only for the retailer to countlessly try to upsell stones that were bigger, clearer, or brighter obviously at higher prices.Greeted by Emanuel (one of the owners) I instantly had the polar opposite experience. Walking into SeaWave, I mentioned that I may be looking for a diamond while admiring the watches I was looking at online. Instead of jumping down my throat with every sales tactic, I was treated like an educated consumer, whom SeaWave wanted to earn as a customer, and not just sell them some jewelry. After several text messages, being very particular on what I was looking for, and what I would be willing to sacrifice, Emanuel was able to bring out several stones that were dead on to my specs, just substantially more brilliant than the others I have looked at.If this was basketball those were the three pointers. Good product, terrible service.My fiance went to Sea Wave and had a great experience purchasing my engagement ring. He provided both our address and his sisters address so it can be shipped to her house to not ruin the surprise. He received an email stating the ring was on its way to our house after he confirmed with Emmanuel it was going to his sisters twice. Luckily, he was able to convince me to leave for work early and get home in time to sign for the Fedex package. The ring was beautiful and the surprise did not get ruined so my fiance was a happy guy.I returned to Sea Wave to have my ring sized. Emmanuel took my measurements which were about half a size away from where they should of been (so now after sizing my ring is still too large). I also asked him to make sure the ring is delivered on a Monday so I am home to sign for it. Sure enough we received the notification that it will be delivered on a Tuesday so I had to change around my schedule to sign for the ring.We called to schedule a time to come in for our wedding bands with Emmanuel and he said any Sunday and my fiance said we will be in 2/23. We arrive at Sea Wave and the doors are locked. Assuming something happen and they would open soon we came back at 12:30pm to find them still not open.To our disappointment we had to go to a different jeweler to find out in order to have a band next to my engagement ring we will need a spacer because the prongs who butt up against the ring destroying both the band and engagement ring prongs. My fiance specifically asked that the height of the diamond was placed in order for a wedding band to sit next to it. Emmanuel advised a medium setting which did not work and now I had to purchase a spacer.The new jeweler noticed my engagement ring was slightly misshaped (which is normal wear and tear). He went to fix it and the white gold completely cracked. During the resizing it must of not been heated to temperature which caused it to break.Emmanuel and his team create beautiful pieces of jewelry which we are very happy with my engagement ring. However, they are severely lacking attention to detail and customer service.

Used Rolex Explorer was advertised as 2018 year, Mint condition....so i bought it. When i received it the warranty card was blank and i was very concerned about my 5 year transferable factory warranty. Alex was very hard to deal with and finally i decided to returned the watch at my expense. When Alex received it he said i had scratched and put dents in the watch...totally not true. I only wanted a legitimate 2018 Rolex Explorer, Mint condition, with box and correct papers, as Advertised. Now i am in a big dispute with SWD, had a horrible buying experience, and was misled and then when i returned the watch was lied to that i damaged it...dont know how Alex could determine that a watch several years old was damaged by me, when his own employee, Emanuel saw some scratches in the watch before i ever bought it.....

I recently purchased an engagement ring at Sea Wave Diamonds, and couldnt be happier. I worked mostly with Alex, but all of the other employees were extremely helpful. I needed the ring relatively quickly, since my (now) fiancee and I were leaving NYC. They turned the ring around extremely fast, and even helped with a minor resizing. I took the ring to an independent, outside gemologist for insurance purposes, and he even commented on what a good deal I got, and the quality of the diamond for the price. Most importantly, my fiancee loves the ring! Given the difficulty and hassle that can be engagement ring shopping, I would highly recommend that anyone go to Sea Wave Diamonds. They are the best!

Being from Minnesota, I had looked around a few jewelers there and had found their prices to be roughly comparable. But since my fiancee was from the North-east, we decided to go to the Diamond District in NYC to look for better options and prices. What I found was a lot of good deals, some too good to be true, and a lot of aggressive selling. But a friend of my fiance went with Sea Wave, so towards the end of the day we checked it out. I found the salespeople there to be better to deal with (I worked with Emanuel), and although the prices werent the cheapest, I liked the quality and they seemed good to work with.So they reproduced a ring design my fiance loved, and the ring turned out beautiful! Plus, a few months after we got engaged she knocked the ring hard and the center stone came slightly loose. I took it by and Sea Wave fixed it within a day, and the rings been rock solid ever since.I would encourage anyone to look around, but if you decide to go with Sea Wave Im sure you will be satisfied.

Not only was shopping at Sea Wave the best jewelry shopping experience of my life, but it was one of the best shopping experiences of my life, period. I brought an heirloom ring, which had been designed by my grandfather, to the diamond district looking for a jeweler to upgrade the diamond and refurbish the piece to create a modern engagement ring. Sea Wave was the third store I entered. Mike was amazing. He immediately respected the design and sentimental value of the ring. I watched as he carefully examined the piece, then told me exactly what he would do and how beautiful he was going to make it.I spent the rest of the day in and out of every jeweler on 47th St. None instilled me with as much confidence as Mike at Sea Wave. I returned a few months later to drop the ring off for the work to begin. And he remembered me and the ring from my twenty minute visit five months earlier!It was ready the day and time he said it would be ready. And when he showed it to me, it was beyond my expectations. I went to Sea Wave Diamonds to purchase an engagement ring setting for a loose stone I had purchased elsewhere. I worked specifically with Alex but all of the staff on-site were very accommodating throughout the process.Customer Service: I could tell they knew what they were talking about. They were very up front about all the options and were willing to set a loose stone which not all in the area are willing to do. They were also willing to create the setting without us leaving the stone but were very upfront that this would result in a less than perfect fit. They said they would do their best based on measurements. We elected to leave the stone with them.Quality: We are absolutely floored by how well the ring turned out (not that we were expecting anything less). We had looked at Tiffanys just for comparison sake and I can honestly say the workmanship here really makes it tough to buy a Tiffanys ring for anything but the name.As the stone was a cushion cut, we went with a halo setting and the fit is perfect (or as perfect as I can tell with the naked eye). The prongs are in the corners and are barely visible.Price: Right in line with what I was expecting based on visiting other area stores and looking online.Fit: The only negative I have is that while she was sized beforehand, the ring is definitely at least a half size too big. We will going back to have it sized but it would have been nice if it fit perfectly from Day 1 as the ring was custom made.This would not keep me from giving my full recommendation in any way but it does keep me from giving a full five stars.EDIT - Went back and Sea Wave resized the ring that afternoon and polished it for no charge. No complaints!

My girlfriend and I worked with Alex and could not be happier with our engagement rings. As we are both women, we needed two engagement rings. This was both of our first times shopping for an expensive piece of jewelry and it had become an overwhelming experience.
