It used to be better when it was still called 10below. I dont really understand why they changed names. Theyve also increased the prices for a single cup AND limit you to 2 free toppings now which is a huge bummer (there was no limit previously). Also, every time I visit this location I always request the taco first but its NEVER available... I hope they will improve soon
Though hard to find, and truly the only real negative, 10Below Ice Cream can be found almost hidden among the other restaurants and stores of the China Town area. Mostly due to its location, a sublevel beneath a building which takes a staircase to climb down; if you are in a wheelchair you cant get it.Besides that, the actual creamery is a pleasing experience, especially on a hot summer day. The place is beautifully cool not just by AC but by the tools that is used to make the Ice cream. The services are also wonderful. The first thing you get with your greeting is a consideration for your health. All customers are asked if they have any allergies. Then you order, your name is called moments after you order and you get to be entertained as you watch as your ice cream is created. It is fun to watch but the ice cream is more fun to eat.Their ice cream is really good. The ingredients are top notch and fresh and you can really taste each flavor. It is a fantastic way to deal with the heat during a hot summers day.
Loved the rolled ice cream here! They only offer a small variety but the two flavours were got were on point! The ice cream was smooth and creamy. When we ordered the strawberry, rolled ice cream, we expected it to but a simple strawberry flavour but this one had some graham crackers added to it which enhanced the flavour of the ice cream. It was absolutely delicious. We also tried the fruity pebble one, this one was alway very tasty. Different from the strawberry one but also has a nice flavour. It has honey in the centre of the rolls too! Another thing we liked about this store is how the ask if you want your marshmallow topping torched. It makes finishes off the desserts even better! As for service, the rollers were awesome! They were really trying to perfect each roll of ice cream and master the presentation overall! Definitely recommended in dropping by and trying they out!
Wonderful ice cream! Its really fun to watch them make it in front of you. The place is very clean and the environment is nice. They have interesting art on the walls. They are also very sensitive to allergies! They cleaned the ice cream base for me after asking if I had a food allergy. This is one of my favorite ice cream stores in NYC.
Delicious!! The line was out the door and up the stairs, but it was totally worth the wait! We waited about 30 minutes or so. It was fun to see the workers roll your ice cream and then you get as many toppings as you want as long as it fits in the cup! Ice cream stayed together and frozen as we walked around the steps of city hall enjoying our treat. Fun place. Great ice cream.
Long, but fun wait. Ice cream was great and fresh to eat. Its worth going through all the waiting once. Its good ice cream and you could taste the fresh ingredients. The service is superb and efficient. Price is also very fair.Overall: Would recommend as a one-time thing. If the lines die down then its worth to go more frequently.
I used to go to the spot on St. Marks but it sadly disappeared. Monkey business is my favorite flavor by far; it blends banana and nutella with a vanilla base. Even though the price is around 7 dollars, the ice cream is totally worth it. The performance of rolling it is fascinating and the texture is amazing. You also get to put unlimited toppings.
This is definitely worth a visit. Each cup of ice cream is $7 so it isnt exactly cheap but watching the staff create a masterpiece is worth it! Flavors are blended into the cream, which is then rolled and places into your cup. Theyll add whatever toppings you want and the finished product is AMAZING!
Its exactly what you get in those ice cream videos you see going around social media. Its a Thai ice cream style where they pour a sweet liquid onto this extremely cold plate and then blend the flavors in as it cools into the normal ice cream forms. The attached image is of the Smores Galore, which is the sweet liquid with chocolate and graham crackers blended together. You get to top it off as youd like and I went with the Teddy Graham cookies, Vanilla wafers, scorched marshmallows, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Its not overly sweet, which I liked. Unlimited toppings is also a nice touch.
Somewhat disappointing. The service there was nice, friendly and caring about your allergies etc. But I’m just not a big fan of their ice cream. The texture was not creamy and smooth but flaky, and their “matcha from heaven” flavor was definitely not the best matcha ice cream around (Taiyaki a few blocks away does it much better). They also didn’t clean their “cooking board” between different orders so I got bits of ice cream the previous customer ordered, which messed the flavor up a little bit.
10Below was a a place I would love to experience everyday if it were not for the overcrowded, claustrophobic inside. But I personally really liked the ice cream! The texture isnt your conventional desert, while also having the liberty of choosing whatever toppings your heart desires. I thankfully only waited less than 30 min. but as soon as I entered, a long line down to the block had already formed! My suggestion, come here for the experience if youre ever nearby the area in Chinatown :)
Really delicious rolled ice cream in an authentic lower level spot! Ice cream flavors and toppings are highly customizable and unique, and baseline price comes with 2-3 toppings! I had Thai tea flavored ice cream mixed with condensed milk and topped with a toasted marshmallow and chocolate chips! Also as rolled ice cream experiences usually are, its interactive and fun to watch your personalized ice cream confection come to be!
Went here with my girlfriend over the weekend, lucky for us the line was short. Ive never had rolled ice cream and I did not know about this place my girlfriend is the one who told me about it so I had no expectations. The process is basically you choose your flavor of ice-cream off the menu, I choose cookies and cream (I think thats what its called) they take an oreo cookie and smash it on the cold plate with the cream and roll it into ice cream. The best part is the free toppings that you get to add. Theres a good selection of add-ons, I choose Graham crackers, whip cream, condensed milk and an extra Oreo cookie. Bottom line is I dont think youll be disappointed if you gave this place a try. As far as I know they have two locations
My first time trying rolled ice cream and I totally ate into the hype! I dont know if it was because it was rainy and cold, but there wasnt a line when we went. I ended up getting the thai tea flavor, paid, and stared through the window as I watched them roll my ice cream. As I stared, I kept thinking that the staff there just rolls ice creams for hours a day. Props. When it was done, I topped it off with strawberries and whipped cream. I took a bite and actually really liked the texture of the rolled ice cream. Its a lot firmer than regular ice cream and didnt melt as fast. The thai tea flavor was really good as well and I tried some others like green tea and that was really good as well.Overall, I know its just a novelty, but Im definitely a fan.
Amazing fried Ice cream with lots of different variations and flavors, do consider visiting if youre not in the city for long or if youre there in the summer. It is surrounded by lots of great follow ups as well. Great minimalist aesthetic as well.

Rolled ice cream? What the heck is that? Its not just yummy flat ice cream topped with yummy things...its heaven! I loved trying all the different flavors but honestly I went with the bourbon vanilla. I know, I know, but honestly vanilla ice cream is the simplest purest most original ice cream treat! The Burnt sage was surprisingly good too....probably because of the vanilla ice cream base!
Nice little spot for some Thai ice cream. Prices are reasonable and the service was quick for a Friday night. We would definitely come back again.
I enjoyed watching the guy make the ice cream. It was fun and it tasted so good as well. Was actually not expecting it to be good, but yeah it was perfect
This place was fun and vibrant years ago. It is not worth to visit now. The tables were dirty, the floors were sticky and had pieces of tissue. The employees are young college students that stand around and don’t assist. They don’t have most of the toppings listed on their menu! Horrible experience. GO ELSEWHERE!
Delicious Thai rolled ice cream! I love coming here for a quick ice cream bite and walk around the city late at night. I just wish they had more seating! But hey this place is so popular, therefore it’s always going to be busy and have long lines sometimes even out the door!
There was a small line when I came in but definitely worth the wait. The rolled ice cream is made in front of you and you can watch the whole process of making your treat! Its beautiful and, frankly, very tasty. One of my favorite places to go. It also is very reasonable with pricing.
So good. They make your treat personalized and right in front of you. That makes it healthy in my eyes. LOL
My gf loves this ice cream parlor. Their rolled ice creams are great and they offer with unlimited toppings which is unbelievable.I personally love their banana and mango rolled ice cream but thats available only during the summer season I guess. The staff is super polite and always bear a smile.
I have to say, although the concept is pretty cool, at the end of the day, its just ice cream in a different shape. I did feel like the flavors they offered were unique, but there wasnt really anything a picky ice-cream seeker could eat here. However, the uniqueness of SOME of the flavors paired with the shape I guess is what makes this place so popular! The space itself is pretty cold (no pun intended...there is little decor and a lot of wasted space), but it is nice that there is room to watch them roll the ice cream
I loved this rolled icecream they make up for you like a show.
Hands down the best ice cream place in the city. So many creative flavors like green tea pistachio, bourbon vanilla, burnt sage, banana curry. The shop is small and there’s usually a line in the summer but it is worth the wait. They recently opened another larger, flagship store in west village with even more flavors!!
Very cute ice cream place! The line was pretty long but its worth the wait! The one of a kind ice cream rolls are so cool and fascinating to watch being made. Theres only one size thats a pretty fulfilling size which is $7 including tax AND unlimited toppings! I highly recommend the marshmallow topping as the guy actually torches it to be toasted. The staff are super friendly too!
Place disappointed me... it used to be really nice but now the place smells like it hasnt been cleaned properly and I cannot stay in there after waiting for someone to help me out even though it was just 1 person in there with someone sitting in the corner who seems to not be working in the store. I waited 5 minutes for someone to help me and nobody did. I know it is late at night but employee seemed agitated and I am not getting my ice cream here.
The ambiance is cozy and modern, lots of tables and chairs to occupy for their customers. The flavors of the ice creams are refreshing and perfectly balanced.
Really cool ice cream experience. We ordered the key lime and graham cracker flavor and it was delicious. The ice cream was creamy and light and the flavor was perfect. Not overly tart or sweet. Plan on coming back next time we visit to try other flavors!
This place was overall a great experience. My friends and I were being tourists around New York and our guide told us about this cool roll up ice cream place in the heart of Chinatown. They make it right before your eyes, its so satisfying to watch. There is also delicious toppings to choose from included with the price. The price is also reasonable. My only complaint would be that it is just slightly underground and it took us quite a while to find. It was an overall great experience and would recommend it for anyone.
The experience is unique and watching what they do is really cool but, the ice cream is bland and you cannot really taste the ingredients. You need all the toppings to make the ice cream taste like something. I think they can do a little better on taste for the price.
10Below Ice Cream store is very popular that I had to line up for atleast 30 minutes just to have a bite of their Rolled Ice Cream! Its worth waiting because the the ice cream was smooth and creamy. I can say it is perfect!
I just had the most amazing ice cream experience. I watch my ice cream molded and form right in front of my eyes. It was quick and by far one of the tastiest. I ordered #7, which is peanut butter and pretzel. The staff poured liquid, pretzel and peanut butter together and mixed it unto a flat surface. Afterwards, it was rolled and placed in a cup. I added bananas, strawberry, vanilla wafers, whip cream and chocolate fudge to top in all off. The best part was the price. Its one size but you can get unlimited toppings for those like me who like to over indulge. All for $7. You can beat that price, I will be back. My goal is to try all the flavors, mix and match combinations or toppings. If you are ever in NYC, Chinatown and you have a sweet tooth craving...I recommend you stop by 10below. The line is very long and its a bit crowded but they work quickly, organized and its worth the wait.
Delicious, I recommend this place, the staff is really friendly and attentive + the price is reasonable. You also get to experience as they prepare the Ice cream. must go here.
I love this place! Every time I visit, there are no lines like the ones my friends have encountered and the ice cream is delicious. The best part is that the extra toppings are free, unlike other locations and the whole process is pretty cool. Anything with the marshmallow and graham crackers are recommended.
Love their ice cream! Take my girlfriend here every other week she’s obsessed with the fruity bam bam
Didnt want to buy into the hype, but its incredible. Absolutely no line around 1 pm on a Monday. Great ice cream, good toppings, incredible. Nothing else like it that Ive been to. Big enough to split with someone. One downside: price. $7 a cup, nuff said.
Absolutely delicious ice cream. Definitely worth the price. The staff is really nice, and you theyll call your name so you can see your order being made on the spot. (Ive gone here in the fall only so far, but I can imagine the extremely long lines in the summer.)
Incredible! Dont listen to the haters! The price is reasonable and you get unlimited toppings! You can take pictures just like all of your other friends now and post them! The ice cream is beautifully made in front of you and it tastes amazing! Close to Columbus park, so you can just sit down on a summer day with your friends and eat icecream! Only $7 so its very cheap.!
When in Chinatown, this is a MUST! Come visit for a great treat, the ice cream experience here is amazing! 8 flavors, we got the smores flavor, and it did not let us down! Two of us shared an order, which they split into two cups. This was perfect, and gave us a chance to get the toppings on it that we each wanted. Great time, fun little shop to visit.
There was a very long line but it was well worth it. The ingredients they add are natural, and you see them make the ice cream right in front of you. Very nice guys and work fast. The only thing (personal view) was that it is a lot of ice cream.
Good range of flavors and toppings. Its fun watching them make the ice cream. The place was super crowded when I went (on a Friday around 4) and there wasnt room to sit. Also they only have one size for some reason for around 7$.
We saw the great reviews on line so me and a buddy took a walk here to try this rolled vanilla ice cream. We did not know what it was but it turned out to be ice cream like pancake that is rolled with cereal and other candy bits like gummy bears and Oreo cookies crunch. The problem was the vanilla ice cream was so boring and filled with ice chips it made the flavor very bland and boring.
One of the first Thai style rolled ice cream. The ice cream liquid base is pour on a big pan that has dry ice/coolant underneath. Toppings are mixed in and the mixture freezes and is rolled into little rolls. Theres always a long way here since the ice cream is made to order and theres three stations and each order takes a few minutes, definitely a laborious process. I dont particularly prefer this type of ice cream over normal ice cream, but they do have some interesting favors so its definitely worth a try.
Cool concept. Fun place to go to a handful of times. They give you unlimited toppings too. With a line, it can take a little bit of time. But definitely worth the wait the first 1 or 2 times you go.
Really fun to watch them make these ice cream rolls, but thats basically the best part. The ice cream itself is not bad but a bit too sweet. Nothing mind blowing and Id prefer to have better normal ice cream or gelato. However, the team that makes these ice cream here is super friendly and really makes it an enjoyable experience. If you want somewhere fun to bring your tourist friends, this would be interesting to go to.
Great ice cream joint in Chinatown! Its located in a small storefront so it can get crowded quickly but its worth the wait. The Strawberry Shawty is my favorite so far. They make the ice cream rolls fresh in front of you, which is a pretty cool process to see. The atmosphere feels like an extension of the Baruch College atmosphere. Congrats fellow Baruch grads!
9.8.17 - Came here after dinner at Shanghai Asian Manor, also an okay experience. The ice cream is a little on the sweet side, but its made well and the ingredients seem relatively fresh. We ordered the avocado ice cream and a few others I cant remember. All in all, its not a bad spot, but definitely over hyped.
A friend and local told me about this place and so happy he did. The lines are always long just to get in the door and for a very good reason. Its the best ice cream you will ever taste! They make it right in front of you. Toppings are all included and as many as you want for just $7
I had a Key Lime Pie. Its really cool to see them make it. Theres also a great list of menu. Its relatively a tiny place and is too crowded. So make sure you have a good 45 minutes in hand.
Whats NOT to love about FRESH, CREAMY, GENEROUS serving of ICE CREAM? Its simply Ice Cream made in front of you. Find a Good Time & Avoid the Line!
This place has a pretty unique concept! We came on a Saturday night, and waited a long time. However, the wait was worth the experience. There were 8 flavor combinations to choose from, and we had a great time. Watching them make the ice cream in front of you was pretty cool! Split between two people, the $7 we paid was a good deal. (Toppings are free)
