Went there on a Saturday night after one of our friends started raving about this place during dinner. There was a small queue as they only allow limited number of people inside. Their birthday cake is actually really good, but it was too hard, almost frozen. It was a struggle to eat it with the plastic fork. Their popular ice cream which is the one with cereal is interesting. I don’t think I am going to get it again but will return for the cake for sure
Ordered a birthday cake to be delivered to Missouri. Cake came on time and was good. No complaints about the cake itself. But cake is nothing special. I get better cake at Costco. Im glad I tried milk bar, but wouldnt buy from them again. The only high quality cake Im willing to spend money on is from Lady M.
I came here for the Ice Cream only. It was bad Im sorry. I tried both Cereal Milk and Funnel Cake flavor. I don’t know how they made an ice cream feel warm but they achieved it with the Cereal Ice Cream. The flavors just don’t feel real or fresh. I feel like this is something you’ll only enjoy if you grew up in USA. Save your money
Maybe I should have picked the pie? My husband and I were passing by and he seemed really intrigued by this place so we decided to stop in. We asked the lady at the counter what she recommended and she wasn’t helpful at all, it seemed like she just wanted us to pick something and leave even though the place was empty. We decided to opt for the blueberry and cream cookie and the birthday truffles. The birthday truffles tasted like balls of sugar so I would definitely pass on that. The cookie was just OK, if you’re looking for a delicious cookie I would stop by Levain Bakery. The blueberry taste was so artificial and it was super crumbly. The cake stand was really cute!
Milk bar is a dessert place place which is owned by MasterChef judge Christina Tosi. Always wanted to visit this place once and bumped into this place unexpectedly. This place smells cake. The lady taking orders was kind enough to ask if it was out first time and recommended a few items which are the house favorites. We had the Milky Bar pei which is is one of the better pie I have had. Its very difficult for me to like a dessert as I am not a fan of dessert, but this left me wanting more. The place has a huge tower o. Birthday cakes on display. Definitely must visit for the dessert lovers.
Listen. Cake is complicated. Up to now, you thought you loved cake. But you were wrong. That wasnt love. Until Milk Bar came into your life youd only been justifying toxic cake relationships. Cake co-dependency. Unfulfilling cake mediocrity. You see it so clearly now that youre with Milk Bar. Im so sorry there is a tremendous amount of sugar coursing through my veins right now and I blacked out for most of this review. Suffice to say these cakes are extraordinarily good.
I wasnt impressed. Never heard of this place before, but when I drove by it caught my attention and I love trying new places out. Parking was easy in the area at 8pm. There was a small line to get in. I started by ordering a latte, I was informed there are NO flavor shots, wth... ok then ordered some strawberry birthday cake, a cookie chocolate pie with marshmallows and some cookies. After I paid they didnt have any coffee, getting my money back took way too long. The sliver of cookie pie cost $8 and it was 2 bites, not worth it because it wasnt even that good. Ok at best. The cake was also mediocre, not worth the prices. Only thing kinda worth all of this was the cookies, they were freshly made.
Wanted to see the hype myself after seeing this store on every social media and chefs table. We got the signature cereal soft serve $6.5 and their milk bar pie $6. Really disappeared by how small the soft serve and the pie were compared to the pictures. Taste wise both desserts were very average and definite not worth the price.
I was very disappointed with the customer service of this location. I ordered a soft serve and after paying for it, waited a little to get it. They gave me my soft serve and I was just about to turn and go away when I saw the person after me order a soft serve too. The amount of soft serve they had received was literally two times of what I had gotten.I don’t like to be petty and honestly a couple of bucks for a soft serve isn’t worth much fighting for (at least to me), but I thought I should let them know that it wasn’t fair. I let the cashier know and he said, “Yes, I can see that.” I waited for him to say something like, “I’m sorry” or “Let me put some more for you”, but all I got was silence. So I started getting a little upset, but politely asked, “Can you give me some more in order to get the same amount as everyone else?” And then he finally did.No sorry. No explanations. He seemed annoyed and just handed my soft serve to me.At this point it doesn’t matter what the soft serve tastes like. His customer service ruined my appetite. All I was asking for was fair service to all customers. How are you going to charge me the same, when you give me half the amount of everyone else? And then go on to act in a way that says, “It is what it is.” Super disappointed and will not be going back.
Honestly it just wasn’t for me.My husband liked the milk cream but I hated it.I thought I would be safe with the blueberry cookie but it was verrrry undercooked. I love gooey cookies but this wasnt gooey, it just wasn’t cooked throughly .The atmosphere is awesome though and ppl watching at the window was nice.I basically loved everything except the food.
We’ve been looking forward to try the world-famous Milk Bar Pie. Been saving up on calories to ‘afford’ a few bites. What a disappointment. The pie looked like it just came out of a washing machine and the flavor was galaxies away from the hype. The place was horribly maintained. Maybe other branches are better, but we’re sure not eager to give them a try. This is how a place that lost its soul to commercialism looks like. Sorry guys, but if you care and respect your own creation, not to mention your customers, you need to do much better than this.
Nice variety of unique cakes, cookies, ice cream and other desserts. With some non-dessert choices too.Perfect for anyone with a craving for something sweet and tasty.
Darnell made our night!!! We were craving the classic birthday cake all day and got to the store with 10 mins to close, but alas, they had run out of vanilla cake! We were so sad to have missed our chance, but Darnell asked if we had a few minutes to spare and cut us a fresh, GIANT piece of cake from the back. Seriously made our night and was the cherry on top of my cousin’s visit to NY! THANK YOU DARNELL, you’re a gem!!! 💎💕
Milk, milk, milk. Milk. Stumbled by the flagship location, fortuitously last week and vowed to swing in this week. So I did. The location is spacious and despite the look from the the outside the line rolls through quickly. I’ve had the cake balls and ice-cream from their other location and I must say for the NYC price, I was expecting a little more. However, the experience is pretty outstanding and the place is almost the Disneyland of sweets. They have a custom cookie and cake stand where they will make both in front of your very own eyes. Back to the beginning, it is my wife’s bday, so I bought her a cake during my visit. It will be good but not sure it will be $50 good.
One of my favorite treats to have while in NYC! Love this new location! Love that this location offers make your own cakes or ship to a friend options! They have both sweet and savory treats, and a great retail space! Friendly staff makes the visit even sweeter! Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike!
Was on vacation in NYC and decided to visit the store. The fact that the indoor seating was closed was disappointing. It totally killed the vibe inside. I would expect the flagship milk bar store to be lively and vibrant. It wasn’t.The first time we went, the store was out of cake slices, which is the whole reason that I went. The second time I went, the soft serve machine was broken. Nothing should be out of stock at the flagship store. If something is broken there should be a backup. If these things do happen at the flagship store, I can’t imagine what the non flagship stores are like.
If you can only have one more dessert for the rest of your life, I recommend it be something from Milk Bar. The Milk Bar Pie is to die for, and the Crunchy Cereal Milkshake is the best milkshake Ive had in years. If only theyd open a location in Kansas City!
I dont understand the hype about this place. The portions are small and expensive and everything is super sweet. The flavors are pretty basic. A friend and I split the milk bar pie and I liked the butter + brown sugar taste but the sweetness level was just excessive.
Some menu items are better than others
Maybe the best soft serve I’ve ever had?! Get the cereal milk soft serve with the crunchy crisps! Taste like you’re eating the bottom of a cold bowl of Captain Crunch! 🥰 Excellent confetti cookie too!
This place was awesome.. the Cereal Milk ice cream.is amazing.. the staff are friendly and go out of the way to make customers happy.. Thanks to Juels for making our experience at Milk Bar a great one...
Not many gluten free options and NO gluten free ice cream options. I got the gluten free cake for my birthday. It was pretty good! A hefty slice for the price so thats was good. I was a little underwhelmed but maybe thats just because I have celiac.
Was very excited to try the goodies at the flag ship store in NYC what a let down. Cookies were average and cereal milk ice cream tasted very odd. Almost spoiled. Ate 3 bites then tossed it. Store didnt have that yummy smell of fresh baked sweets and tduffles were a sugar overload. 😭
The security guy asked me and my friend out because she used the bathroom. the cashier refused the service. we are both fully vaccinated and yet we get this attitude. hello, nobody does this to the customers who bring them business. we realize it’s a covid and all but they might as well just close the place down if the staff is so rude. never again will we go the place and we are huge ice cream lovers. neither will our friends, believe me. the staff should learn their lesson
So good. Super kind people working there.
The dessert was yummy the service was awful. The security guy was a drill sergeant. I totally understand needing to keep order if it’s busy but the store had less than 10 customers. He was so rude to us and reprimanded my friend for stepping over a barrier by accident. So disappointing.
Deliciously funny. And excellent crew members.
Always great experience for flavor, quality and cleanliness. The staff is friendly and work very hard and fast. My go to is always the cereal milk with crunch which never disappoint. I also get cake slices to go as it’s generally buys with lots of seating but since I live 2 blocks away I’ll just enjoy from the comfort of my home
I was very surprised to see all the preservatives and artificial ingredients listed on the bottom of the cake. I thought I was buying something more homemade delivered. And $75 for a 6 inch cake full of artificial ingredients is too much. That might work if you live in Manhattan, but not Winchester, VA. Note: delivery was late for my daughters birthday, but I appreciate that customer service refunded our shipping charge even though it wasnt their fault. thank you for that good service.
DONT ORDER DELIVERY FROM MILK BAR!I ordered delivery and when I tried to cancel it (less than 30 minutes later) they refused, saying the delivery window was too short. Why was the delivery window too short? Because their website says to order well in advance of the actual date you want, due to continued carrier backlog.if you check their website it actually says, we are not responsible for delays caused by one of our shipping partners....or mistakes on the part of our shipping partners employees. And apparently, there are quite a few problems with their shipping partners! If you check the negative and hidden Yelp reviews for this company, youll see that other people have complained about negative delivery experiences.Milk Bar would not cancel my order, would not offer a refund, and appears to have fought my credit card dispute. They responded to my Yelp review asking me to get in touch with them. I did, and never received a response. I can only assume the responses are for PR purposes.Buyer beware if you order delivery!
Definitely not recommended. Much better places nearby with much better prices.
Their cakes were decent and the staff was average, but the reason this review is one star is that their cakes are extremely overpriced for what you are paying for. A cake with a 10in diameter is $120. THAT IS OBSURD!! CEO of Milkdud if you are reading this review, your prices are way too high and they need to change. Thank you for your time
Good cookies, and corn flakes make a great topping for the delectable ice cream
The cake slice was ok. But got something a little unexpected in my smore. Looks like a pice of the oven they warmed it in?Dont believe the hype.
They don’t let you go to the toilet, even vaccinated. Very unfriendly staff. Asked kindly to go to the toilet and have been kicked out (!) because I am “arguing”. This is not how customers should being treated. Never again. I understand COVID needs special precautions. But customers needs to wash their hands and sometimes follow mother nature’s call. If you put everything on COVID, better close your store.Well, that’s the first time since 20 yrs I have been kicked out of a store and yes, I have to admit 20 yrs ago, I deserved it:)
All of the times I have come the employees have been very friendly and kind. Love coming in and the treats are always so good!
We got the small cereal milk ice cream with sprinkles. It was creamy and delicious. The backstory behind milk bar is super interesting so definitely read up while youre on line. The wooden spoon is a good sustainable and nostalgic touch.
Oh it was awful, they got me a peace of cake with hair inside. And when I asked to change it, they said “well, we think it’s you hair”. But I’m blond and shortcutted, and hair was dark and ling. I will never go to this place ever again!
I went to the cake decorating class for a company outing and it was a lot of fun. Its about 3 hours but we had food and drinks catered so we didnt start until an hour in. You dont actually bake the cakes, that would take far too long for a big group, so we were given sheet cakes to cut, assemble, and decorate. We all had a lot of fun with it and the instructors, Yasmin and Lauren I believe, were very helpful and welcoming. Definitely a great idea for a large group for a party or company outing. AND you get to take your cake home along with little cake truffles that youll make as well.
I was a little disappointed. I had been wanted to visit a Milk Bad store since I saw it on a food documentary. I don’t know if it was because of COVID but there were limited options, the desserts were overpriced and the overall feel inside was kind of sad. The pie was good though
The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. It had a cozy feel to it, which made me think it would be perfect for catching up with my friends.
Milk bar is great if you want pre-diabetes or diabetes. The amount of sugar that is added is unreal... you’re better off spooning a tablespoon of sugar into your mouth if you’re looking for a sugar high
I needed two small cakes for an intimate wedding ceremony and Shannon was a great help in suggesting what to order and getting them delivered on time to Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge NY. The cakes arrived in perfect condition and were delicious. I can’t wait to enjoy more Milk Bar treats in the future. Thanks again
It was fine. I hoped it would be better
Came in for some pumpkin cake and a coffee the second day it opened. The staff was definitely still trying to get their system down, but were friendly. I didnt try one of the build-your-own activities, but they looked fun! Wasnt a huge fan of the atmosphere, at least not for grabbing a slice and a coffee to enjoy in the morning. Maybe it gets more high energy later in the day.
These places are the Pipe Pipers of the Millennials. Dont understand cake batter stuffed with some sprinkles can go for $50. Its insipid, dry & completely lacks character to say the least. A mousse cake from Financier patisserie doesnt cost this much & I believe its more time consuming to make. Little Pie Companys carrot cake is also much cheaper & tastes a lot better. As you see there are other alternatives. No need to go to this place.
Customer service is horrible. Over priced garbage. Not worth the money what so ever!
Almost everything is absurdly sweet, and its great
Milk bar pie (aka crack pie) tasted like pecan pie without the pecans. little pricey.
Seriously, fix the attitude. you don’t just kick customers out of the cafe for using the restroom. rudest staff ever
I think their oven is broken because both the cookie and the bagel bomb tasted like raw undercooked dough.
Highly overrated and overpriced. Birthday cake is too hard and we were left wondering if there was an error in delivery.
Foods pretty good but expensive for what you get.
Ive been to other Milk Bar locations before, but this was my first visit to the Flagship store! So many goodies to choose from, I had to buy a little of everything! The cereal milk soft serve was delicious! Looking forward to enjoying all of my other treats! Super bummed the claw machine wasnt operating, I was really looking forward to that :/ Also would love to try Cerealsies, I didnt see any available.
Picked up some valentines treats for my fiancé, as always cookies and truffles were delicious. Our favourite is the confetti cookie!
Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow!!!! Nothing but positive things to say about this company. Customer service was beyond wonderful and the cakes, cookies and truffles we ordered online were out of this world. If you’ve not seen it already check out their Chef’s Table episode on Netflix I highly recommend. Going to one of their physical locations is now on my bucket list! Will be ordering again in the future :)One tip though - do not order to be delivered on a Saturday. Fedex sucks and if they cannot deliver on time it gets delayed to Monday.
Milkshake heavy sweet 😱
The food and service is excellent. This particular Milkbar would be fun to go on a date or take kids to. You can buy their merchandise there as well.
Meh, cookies were ordinary. Confetti cake was dry and not worth $9. The other top known bakeries bakeries make bettet cakes for less money and a bigger slice ie. Marthas Country Bakery to name one of many.
I stopped in to pick up my wife’s bday cake. I realized I ordered wrong day but they went ahead and made it happen with very little wait. Friendly staff! Thank you!
I was just here on 4/2 at 3 PM and my husband bought $45 worth of treats and a couple of shakes. We were waiting for our shakes so I sat down in an open seat. Once the shakes were done my husband and I were waiting for a cab which was a few minutes away. As we were getting ready to leave The larger set woman behind the counter with the bandana literally yelled at us to leave. She said “you need to get out”. I went up to the counter and said “I’m sorry I didn’t hear you if you said anything earlier” and she continued to yell “bye. Leave. You need to get out” in a very rude, loud and obnoxious tone. After all of that, She then said there’s a 3 people limit. I apologized and said I didn’t know but she continued to be rude and loud and kept telling us to “get out”. Unacceptable customer service. This was a terrible first experience and I will not be returning here.

I LOVE the goodies that the place has to offer especially the red velvet truffles.
Omg I dont know how to spell her name correctly and I apologize in advance but Chadi Shadi is an amazing amazing customer service specialist her energy is contagious and if shes not already the manager she needs to be
Yuk. Sorry thats all I have to say.
Awsome concept! Great dessert.
Really fun place. Great unique desserts with a unique taste. Unlike make other milk bar stores you can get a slice of cake instead of having to buy a whole cake. The soft serve was yummy and the truffle cake bites were great. I recommend going with friends so you can share and try more then one thing.
Customer service is terrible . Not worth the price of you spend . Would rather prefer magnolia
Was excited to pop by. Only purchased a few items off the shelf but good service and delicious treats.
Unbelievably delicious!!
I love the pumpkin dulce de delche cake. We also tried their truffles and they’re really good. The birthday cake was good but super sweet. Was not a big fan of the milkshake.
