We have followed Domi on their IG page for months and finally got a chance to try it. Domi is located in the Canal Street Market with a lovely and simple decor. We had their Hojicha and Milk & Honey profiteroles to share with a group of three. The profiteroles were placed carefully in the box and they look so beautiful & delicate. The taste was even more surprising to us.The profiteroles were amazingly delicious, the filling was creamy, rich and flavorful with crispy & thin layers. We were impressed with its crust since it wasn’t soaked to be too soft or wet at all.It is definitely a great place for dessert anytime when you need it and the size was perfect for individuals. There was 10% off promotion if you pay by Apply Pay.
Inside Canal Street Market lies a small stand for these delicious profiteroles called Dōmi. A friend recommended this place to me a few times and well of course I would check it out. I placed an order ahead of time for pickup: a slice of Thai tea basque cheesecake, and their box of 5 profiteroles (one of each flavor). Based on pictures I have seen, they looked really small so I never saw how it justified the price. However, when I picked these up today, they were actually pretty big and the cream filling completely filled the dough (ratio cream to dough 2:1). Taking a bite of the basque cheesecake, I personally did not find the Thai tea flavor strong, but it was good though.Trying each of the profiteroles, my favorite was definitely the Ferrero profiterole. Loved the hardened chocolate coating covering the chocolate dough and then filled with the cream. For all the profiteroles, I really loved the shell/dough, as it wasn’t completely hard like the huge cream puffs from Bibble and Sip, and not overly soft like Beard Papa’s. My second favorite was the milk and honey, as the cream had seeped in with the shell making it taste a bit silky.Though I do have to mention the Earl Grey Lavender flavor was not bad (as some places that make this combination of any dish tend to put too much lavender extract, making it taste like soap)Note: Sadly this place is closing by the end of this month. Until then, can still place an order for pickup (not same day pickup unfortunately) before they close.
The profiteroles are delicate and light. We loved all the flavors available. Its was a nice treat for our Sunday afternoon strolling Chinatown. I cant wait for everything to be fully opened again, because canal street market had great vendors!
The Cream Puffs tasted so good! The puffs we got were freshly made upon order with beautiful decorations. Didnt eat them until the next day but they were still vary tasty. Will visit Domi again when we visit the city next time! [Flavors: Coffee Hazelnut, Hojicha, Earl Grey Lavender, Milk+Honey, and Banana Milk]
Ive been ordering from Domi regularly since COVID and can say that the quality of their baked goods are superb. I think their specialty is cream puffs, but theyve expanded their menu and everything is so delicious. They marry different flavors really well and Im always excited to see what they come up with. I highly recommend checking them out!!
Best dessert I had in a long time. Will come back again!!! thank you for making me happy
What I like about the crème puffs here is the crunchy & fresh puffs that don’t suffer from soggy texture because the cream filling is piped on order. The hojicha tea & banana milk are nice, rich with very calibrated sugar level. The miso caramel apple is a miss in my opinion- it cries out for the presence of miso & sea salt and as a result it’s way too sweet for my likings. The other flavors and snack offerings on the menu look enticing. I might swing by again to treat my sweet tooth.
All your goods are amazing!!!
