I asked a guy at store to cut the fabric for 1 yard. There were 2 yards left and he told me he can’t cut it because it’d be one yard left so I either have to buy 2 yards on my cost or change my mind to different color.I was so puzzled and told him that it was sold by yard and why he can’t cut it.He started yelling at me, “My boss needs to make money, I can’t leave one yard left on roll! My boss needs to make money!! Go choose the different color!! That’s not my policy but my boss needs make money!”Man, your boss making away too much money than you expecting.Horrible service.
Love it, especially if you sew, or do art and crafts they also last minute gift for house warming .
The people that works there are very efficient I always find good stuff for decoration and hand crafts
The staff was very helpful and friendly! The prices here are the best! Youll get the best deals coming here!
Back in the day we all love to go to the fabric store now for 1 pack of yarn is $6 to much
Plenty of items not just fabric and at a reasonable price. The staff is helpful and professional.
I LOVE THIS STORE!! The staff are super helpful and kind. Good vibes always. They have everything you need for your craft/sewing projects and I love supporting a local store. Highly recommend!
Lots of different fabrics, great reasonable prices and the staff is helpful and friendly
Has becoming more of a crafting store, limited fabric select for the season, nice sale prices.Staff was slow to respond nut attentive and helpful.
I gave 5 stars because they had a lot of great yarn selection. But there was a guy who kept looking at me like I was up to no good. I didnt like that at all. If it wasnt for the yarn selection this store would have gotten a 3.
Got everything I needed to decorate for 25th Anniversary Vow Renewal
Over priced synthetic fabrics. No natural fibers, just poly, poly, poly.Sewing machines over priced- cheaper online. Ok for zippers, buttons, upholstery and foam.
I love the store and go here before I go to Michaels. I just started a small business of making beanies, flower crowns and the like. I try and go to this store before checking any other store for products. This is the only location that I found large pom poms that are actually cute and stay in place. The staff is quite friendly and the store is relatively empty so Im not too worried about bumping into people are checking out items for way too long and having to move out of peoples way. Ive gone on different days and in different times in the week and I could say that the staff is normally friendly no matter the day or time.
Big,nice and clean place, you can found Art products,I buy a yarn 100% cotton
Its a good place for every thing that you may need when it comes to sewing. Anna is super friendly and helpful. She is an efficient employee.
This store always have everything I need
Great prices, needed fabric for a photo shoot. They got it all!!!
Im not a person who sews, but the store is packed with stuff one would need to put together something special. Unfortunately they didnt have what I needed. A great local place for people with a sewing machine.
Quite few things have discounted prices, so you could save some $$. I wish they had bigger selection 🤞
Very nice and almost have everything,
Its a great place for every thing that you may need when it comes to sewing. They have some home decor stuff.
Great selection of thread, notions, dressmaking & upholstery fabrics all with fair pricesMachine repair and parts offeredAnd than some
Awesome store! Awesome staff! Yes some of the prices are a little higher in comparison to Michaels or such. But youre in Manhattan. Thee most expensive burough to live in. What do you expect? Overall, I love this Save-A-Thon even if Im cheating on the Brooklyn & Queens one with them 😂.
Not one staff member welcome me in the store or asked if I need help and the fabrics were average
I frequently shop here for all my Crafting supplies. The prices are far better than Michaels.Diya LISTEN UP ! I found the perfect fabric to make a reversable Duvet cover AND a great coordinating fabric to customize the lampshades to match. All the supplies are here for prices that cant be believed. Great big Leather pelts for less than half of what it costs in the fabric district. Upholstery and Dressmaking fabrics too! Cushion fillers, Buttons for childrens garments, everything without being overwhelmed. The staff is always friendly, the music is always upbeat and unlike other stores, they actually WANT to hear about what youre creating and love photos.A great place to shop!
Great prices great service. Have used them for years
For fabric and yarn, this place is amazing! As far as other selection, it is much better than I expected but definately a bit limited towards artist selection. Staff has always been wonderful. In additin to Michaels, I still come here on the regular.
Love. Has everything.
Found everything I need.
The staff was busy but they stopped and made sure everything was taken care of. From the young man that cuts the fabric to the Latino Lady. They have great energy, friendly and affordable. My new fabric store.
Its a decent little place in East Harlem they try to have everything in stock
Love the fabric selections and that I always find what I need. THE BEST AND SO CLOSE BY‼️☺️
Super friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful selection and prices. So happy to find this store open during the pandemic. Will be back :)
My go to neighborhood store. I was so happy when they cautiously reopened. I was able to get my fabric and crafts just a few blocks from home.
All the employees here were really friendly and helpful! Store looks pretty dated but thats whatever. They also had much more than I expected 👍
Love it for yrs
Everything is nice the selection just isnt as huge but its more than enough you can find miscellaneous things which I love
Its an okay fabric store very fast in all of their items being that this is the flagship store I expected more customer service and that the front desk girl would know that there is pattern paper for sale but the manager informed me that there was and it was Kraft paper? I would think a Fabrics of the stature should at least carry actual professional pattern paper? Maybe Im Wrong. But I was impressed with the fact that they have classes in the back and I actually might be interested in taking part in one.
I came from Philadelphia to visit this Fabric store in NY. It Was NOT Worthwhile. Display of fabrics was awful. Fabric was So cheap looking u may as well have shopped in a dollar store in Philly
They have great variety of fabrics and knowledgeable staff to help with ideas for sewing and equipment needs.
They carry all the things I need for sewing, crocheting & for my jewelery making. The staff is courteous & helpful.
Its ok
Nice craft and fabric store that has withstood the test of time. Its nice to see in Spanish Harlem. The products are a little cheap and the store is a little dirty. Would rather make the trek to Michaels Arts & Crafts on the west side or the garment district for fabric. If youre local here, its nice for emergency craft supplies.
The staff here first of all is very friendly and helpful...they are eager to make sure your happy.... The prices are very reasonable for the location and its close to the buses and the #6 train
Great prices and a variety of fabric to wrap my head. Very helpful, patient and knowledgeable employees. 😊
Best Store for sewing need !
I absolutely love this fabric store. I decided to make a lot of things myself with my friends for my babyshower and I was able to find everything i needed. I wasnt knowledgeable on getting fabric by the yard so I probably spent more than necessary. Make sure you go in with a clear idea of how much fabric you need cause then youll be over or under guessing. The second floor is dedicated to yarn, wedding decor, party decor and baking.
I dont like Save A Thon mainly the one at 3rd Avenue between 104th and 105th Street. Their fabric is super mega ugly and there is this rude old lady who works there and had a problem with me buying elastic since Ive been buying elastic from there and had the nerve to almost deny me service until I told her I wasnt there just for elastic. Dont bother going to the Save A Thon at 3rd Avenue between 104th and 105th Street. They stink!!!!!!!!
Very friendly service and the prices are great
Save a Thon is a great store to shop for materials for sewing. Ive been a dedicated customer for yrs. Lots of sales/bargins. I always leave satisfied Every time I go. 🤗
The foid is very tasty and their service is great
Great place have lotsa of variety for making projects, yarn, fabric..you name it they will probably have it
This is a hidden gem in east Harlem. You could easily get lost in this place. The prices are great. They even have groupons from time to time.
The staff there doesnt know what they are doing
Prices are good and you may notions which may be hard to find, its school.
If you want anything for sewing this is your place, affordable and great variety of fabric
Its a fabric store!! They have good deals.
Friendly staff. Everything you need to be creative.
A good find! In a city as busy as NYC, it is difficult to look for that proverbial ‘needle in the haystack’! But, in this shop you will find all kinds of needles, wool, cloth, buttons, threads, embroidery threads, et al! What an Aladdin’s cave, full of treasures. It is one of the few such stores left. Great for all those who love knitting, crocheting, embroidery and other crafts. Oh! In case you need stitching classes, this is the right place.
With patience you will find affordable luxury and unique treasures, and lets not forget the little impulsive buys...👌👍🤩
The service was pleasant. Thank you to the young lady upstairs for properly directing me to the IRON ON PATCHES.
It has a lot of good things to build, change and sew..This place teach sewing..
Great selection and the staff is always so helpful with finding fabrics for your needs.
Your ideal place to buy crafts and fabrics Very wide selection
Staff is very friendly and helpful. I only go if I need to in a hurry. Very limited selection. I revisit on occasion to see if there are any changes to inventory.
Is not the same 😔Missing the old days
I love this store... The staff are always a pleasure to see and very knowledgeable about the items they have, I can pop up to the store with a ideal on a project and leave with everything I needed and more.. Thank you.
Service was great. Wish they carried more higj quality fabrics however they do have a great swlecrion. Only place in UES where you can get fabrics. Affordable too. And they sell sewing almachimes. Yay!
This use to be the best store. Theres more yarn than anything else. The owner delivered old dusty baskets, and a dirty hamper type thing, to put products for customers to purchase. This store needs serious remodeling. Place back the products to give customers variety. Its unorganized, and the products that are there, they never keep up stock.Bring back the vases....wall decore....candle holders like before. PLEASE remove the yarn from the front and put in the back, organizing it better, keep up on inventory, dont drop off dirty products to sell and please fix the floor and clean it.
Good place but I give it 3 stars because we witness a discussion between a couple and a worker, he could be more friendly and more attentive.
Nice variety of products
The staff is always helpful, theyll dig through boxes if they have to, in order to help customers, everyone helps, and everyone is treated great! I always find what I need and prices are super low!! Thank you guys, for your excellent service
Its has essential arts and craft
I love to go to this store for craft supplies at a great price. The typical option is Michael’s, but if you want to take the trip to Harlem you should. They have fabric and sewing supplies too. All a discount prices.
I like to come and buy the beautiful laces that they have
This store has all sorts of decorr. I ordered a bernart wool in a cream color. This type of whool hands down is very soft. Go to this Store Now!!!!
Not accessible for the disabled. Im wheelchair bound and when I wasnt, all of the amazing things they have are upstairs and I always purchased something. Great place for cloth, yarn, sewing classes, interior design but... Damnit - I wish I could go upstairs again. Get an elevator or a chair lift, people!! 😕😟
Nisha R. Makes coming to Save a thon, pure joy.I am very impressed with her professionalism. Save a thon is the best place for crafts. The employees are very helpful and the sewing classes are top notch. The store maintains an easygoing attitude. No huge lines. Cheap items.
They have everything for such a good price and the are super nice.
I love this store the prices are amazing! The manager Abdul is very nice and knowledgeable.
As a Pre-K teacher who has many class projects to do this place is where I stop to get all my materials.
Wonderful neighborhood store for fabric and sewing materials reasonably priced. Love the variety of African fabrics too.
The workers on the store are very polite and prompt with the client. The only thing I see is that they should updrage the structure by all means the store.
Helpful and very knowledgeable staff! I was looking for materials to do my Halloween costume.
They have two floors and the second floor is only accessible via stairs so that if you have bad knees use a walker or wheelchair or have a baby stroller you are out of luck. The store is not very well organized some sewing trims are on the first floor while others are on the second floor. They have pattern catalogs but very few times have the actual pattern. A big number of their sewing machines are refurbished. As the only textile store around the neighborhood its okay. The associates are nice.
Many different selections for less
Love the customer service, friendly extremely helpful. With my many habits, they have everything I need.
Love this ❤️ store. And the sewing instructor Lilly is so professional.
Nice good quality fabrics.
Great stuff for seamstress and crafty people. Good selection, variety. Awesome staff
This store is well supplied for your sewing, knitting and fabric needs
