This was my first time coming into Ultra Beauty. I’ve always passed by the store however my daughter was looking for a specific product so we decided to go into the store. Upon entry we were not greeted by any staff. While walking around the store to locate the item were looking for not one sales representative asked if we needed help but they just stared at us. We were only able to get assistance because there was a sales representative in the area where the item, we were searching for was located. She was very helpful and warm as compared to the other representatives that passed us by. The item we wanted was not in stock but the representative did inform us of Store to Door. Store to door is looking on the Ultra website to see if the item is in stock and if it is you can order to your home with free shipping. The checkout was rather quickly we didn’t have to wait in line long. The representative at the register assisted us in placing the sore to door order and we were done. I immediately received an email confirmation of the item and expected delivery date. Overall, I’m not certain if I will shop again at Ultra, they aren’t welcoming in warm as compared to entering other stores such as Sephora. I doubt I will be returning to the store since there is poor customer service. Shipping was really fast which is why I added a star. The package arrived rather quickly we ordered it on a Saturday and it arrived Monday.
Isabel helped me find the right things for my skin care and my color match for my foundation and concealer. She was so sweet and dedicated with her service and even volunteered to check me out. She thoroughly explained to me about the credit card and how you can combine the discount with another one. So polite and so sweet. I cant wait to come back to this same service.
Believe me! You wont ever be baffled without a doubt! Attempt to visit this spot and you will love it without a doubt. Extraordinary assistance and valuing! I got all that I need from the shoes to the dresses I needed to have.
Laurel at the Lancome counter was amazing! I am a super newbie, terrible with makeup application and never wore foundation in my life, until now -- Laurel spent over an hour teaching me how to use 3 different brushes and even let me practice to get her feedback on where I was going wrong. She helped me find and understand how to apply and blend concealer and foundation. She even wrote out a card with instructions for me that explains how to apply (and even how to properly use the brushes for each) concealer, foundation/powder, how to blend, Ive never had better customer service. The most refreshing part? She never tried to push product or sell me anything, instead she just catered to my needs. This woman deserves a raise. Excellent, hands down.

Quick and easy to get my products. I managed to get everything I needed and leave within 25 minutes despite having a line. And they have a fairly large selection of curly/coily hair products including many minority owned brands.Lovely staff. They are extremely helpful and attentive.Also while there were a number of shoppers this location has plenty of space so you dont have to worry about crowding. There are sanitizing stations at the entrance as well so its quite a bit safer than some beauty supply stores.
Salon reviewI went to the Ulta salon on East 86th (between Lexington and 3rd) to get a relaxer October 15th. The stylist was running late so my appointment time was severely delayed. There were moments where I was left at the shampoo bowl with a wet head because the stylist was still finishing up her client that was scheduled before me. The stylist didn’t flatiron my hair, she lightly used the blow dryer and sent me on my way. I thought my hair would be ok since I just got a relaxer. About 3 days later, I noticed that my hair was not properly relaxed in several sections. My hair has always responded well to a relaxer, so I was concerned about the results. I called and texted the stylist to discuss the issue and was told to come to the salon the following Saturday. The stylist made excuses for why my hair wasn’t straight and told me that if I wanted her to flatiron my hair to correct the issue I would have to pay $35! I reported this incident and the issue has NOT been resolved.
I came here to get a gloss and a silk press and omg, Nora did such a great job on my 4c hair! I’ve been trying to look for a salon that ACTUALLY cares about the health of my curls, and I’m so glad that I came here. I also wanted to make my hair a little darker and Nora did such a great job at getting the color that I wanted with the gloss. Five days after getting the silk press, my hair was still looking like the first day which really surprised me because usually by the third day it’s too oily to even style. Today I washed it and my hair didn’t smell like burnt and my curls were impeccable! 10/10, definitely recommend 👏🏽
Security guard does not do their job. I was harassed and violently pushed against the shelf full of products by another customer with security guard right the same aisle. This was an unprovoked attack. The security guard and another staff member looked and walked away. As my friend and I were exiting the store, my friend sees a guy stuff a bunch of products off the shelf and into his backpack. My friend told the security guard and he again just walks away not saying a word. What is the point of wasting money to hire him if he cannot perform his job? I do not recommend this location. If you need help, they will turn a blind eye.

The East 86 street store was rather slow for its great location.The staff rather cool to certain clientele-- myself included.Once helped I was directed towards lower price less expensive items and one agent mention that an items price was high... That was until a former patient said hello Dr.G...Then warm, energy and enthusiasm clicked on....Oops- have a patient now I have to go. Classism, and snobby agents - guessing a customers pocket is wrong+ not good for a business.Customers could be wealthy or shopping for/with a wealthy friend....IJS 😚
I always go to this Ulta but I needed to write a review this time They have this new employee she told me she was fairly New named Thai or Thais And she has big curly hair She is amazing!! I immediately walked into the store and she came up to me to help and got me exactly what i wanted and What i was looking for Was even able to perfectly shade match me for the Nars Foundation and concealer I wanted just by looking at the shades !! Also gave me amazing confidence to explore more eyeshadow palettes and I love them so much and my new makeup so Much ! Will definitely be returning again and Hope I see Thai/Thais There!!
If I could give this place no star I would. I never leave reviews and Im not a complainer or a problematic costumer but this place has Very poor customer service. I was there today and when I got to the register and was waiting on line and only one cashier was open when the second cashier opened she took the person standing behind as I was standing past the “line” and when I complained and said that I was here first she’s supposed to take me first, they gave me an attitude and said well the line starts behind but I was only standing past the line bc no registers behind me were open!! They didn’t even bother to apologize but instead gave me an attitude? I ended up not buying the products. I left to Sephora and was welcomed and had a great costumer service experience as expected. Never going back
This is not Sephora. As soon as you accept this you your Ulta experience will improve. The store is huge and can be overwhelming with the many products, so tske your time but dont count on anyone helping you. This is the kind of place you go to pick up something you already know you want. Some counters have personnel that are excited to help, and thats great, but dont come to expect it. Given the choice would I go somewhere else, absolutely, but if you know what you want, or even prefer shopping by yourself without help from staff, then I would recommend Ulta.
I’m really not a complainer but today’s experience in this store was the worse I’ve had in my life lol (gotta laugh it off) The manager who was supposed to be greeting people as we walk in was lost looking at her phone and leaning on the wall when I got there to the point where another customer had to go and touch her to get her attention. So the people walking in didn’t get the usual welcoming and warming greetings we get from other members at this location when we open the door, Then when I got to the perfume section the lady working there looked soooo miserable, didn’t ask me a single question while I was browsing looking for the perfumes I wanted, she was more concerned about me stealing anything from the NEARLY EMPTY AND DUSTY SHELVES than helping me. I work customer service and you can always tell when someone is in to steal and let me tell you, That was not my intention ma’am lol. These ladies need some rest I guess, because wow what a trashy experience I had there, nearly ruined the rest of my day.
Went yesterday to the Ulta beauty salon for the first time to cut my hair. Decided to go since it is 2 blocks away from work. The hairdresser was very nice, which is why I would not mention her name in this review. Unfortunately, she does not know how to cut hair nor does she know how to blow dry. It was horrible. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. Seems like a hit or miss, which is not a good thing for the price you are paying. Stay away!!!!!
Terrible customer service. i’ve been to a few locations but these store associates look and sound miserable. I asked the cashier if I could run to get an item I forgot and he said “nah that line is too long”. then i asked if he could order an item that was out of stock, he couldn’t do that either. then I asked if I had points to use and he ignored me completely. won’t be returning

I love Ulta but this location is probably the most incompetent and unprofessional location I’ve been to. I was in the store looking for a specific product and not one employee was available to help. It came to the point where I just bought the product in question off of Amazon for next day shipping while standing in the aisle the product was meant to be in.
One of the retail ladies on the floor didnt want to assist us when we asked for her assistance and was very dismissive. Until another Caucasian rep. came to help us and gave us a lot of info which was helpful...I told her what the experience was with someone else and somehow we ended up going up to her section and she had no other choice but to assist her own colleague with us in tow. 😉 Then we checked out and out of nowhere we won a complimentary bag... 😜

This is a busy location, but good set up and plenty of items in stock. They also accepted my return (for store credit) without question, despite not having original packaging and having made the purchase 4 months ago! Awesome.

I went there for a haircut for the first time, Jackie was my hairstylist and she was phenomenal. She made me feel comfortable and cut my hair the exact way that I showed her to. Would recommend!

First of all the employees are Super Nice. They greet you when you enter the store ask if you need assistance and the customer sercive is great. However, I dont trust them. They dont seem polished or knowledgeable about makeup. Especially complexion products. Not one dark skin employee, and I mean no offense, but Im not trusting recommendations from high pitch cringy voiced men. They are consistently out of stock of any product and the lighting is horrendous. I wish it was better.
The location of this store you’ll get to see a diversity of people, but not only that we’re in 2021 where EVERYBODY should be treated equally regardless of whether you think the costumer has money or no. This is coming from a person that work with costumers everyday and it’s such a bad taste when you can feel the energy throughout the whole store of nobody wanting to help you. I asked an associate about a moisturizer for my face and her response was “that’s very expensive” that’s just rude and unnecessary.

This review is looong overdue. I was getting a bit concerned about my grey developing. I didn’t want to color it myself and look crazy. I also didn’t want to goto a Salon because I was uncomfortable with the idea. Well I decided to go anyway.The experience was AMAZING! First of all, I met a master stylist named Staceyann. The way she carried herself gave me all the assurance needed to know I was in very good hands.She hooked me up! I left with the smoothest black hair and beard and got a compliment from a complete stranger the moment I walked out the door!The look boosted my confidence and my sales performance because I felt so good. I am actually arranging to see her right after I post this review. Ulta does a great job having masters like Staceyann.Bravo Ulta!Double Bravo Master Stylist Staceyann!

First time EVER at ULTA. In the past I just received their catalog. OMG! Walking in I instantly felt as if I died and went to cosmetic heaven! So many brands to choose and test even drugstore brands. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful without bring overbearing. Three days later I had to return an item for which I had the receipt and the refund was quick and smooth. I cannot wait to return. In fact I may apply for a job there. In 3 words...I LOVE ULTA!u
I am always thinking about how I look. When you are extremely busy, you are not always looking your best. This place is a must!!!

I placed an order for pick. Made the trip into the city in the snow to pick it up, finally get there and pick it up, waited for someone, despite several people being in the salon, and finally am given my order and leave. I get on the train and discover they gave me my order, but one of the products is incorrect. I tried to call the store (which was still open at the time for 8 mins no one picks up the phone, despite it having been completely dead inside when I was there not even 20 mins earlier. I finally hung up, annoyed, and called their customer service, who managed to help me. I would have given the experience zero stars if I could have.
There’s horrible attitude from the employees at this store. From the manager Jen to the employees she’s training. I would not go back!
Winter Bear and I came here for a quick shopping trip. The store was well organized and clean. They had two employees on the floor and they were willing to help. I was able to find some good stocking stuffers for a decent price. They didnt have hand sanitizer readily available for consumers. The line was very short and went quickly.

I walk around the store and theres 3 white girls inside with there Starbucks cups.. why did that happen. Was it discrimination or was the greeter not paying attention as the rest of the staff in this place... / reply to store: maybe you should try NOT using a cookie cutter replys. And understand that just because im not buying doesnt mean Im not paying and have your staff back off when you see a man in your store drinking a cup of coffee as men dont shop in this store for themselves. Your sale numbers speaks that for you. And not a good was to attract other men to your sales... however I dont think I could ever support this behavior.

I had the best time - less customers, attentive staff, great sales that are even more reduced, who wouldnt love it?The line outside moves fast & youre inside in no time and because there is only a few customers allowed in at a time you really get the benefits of exploring the store and not feeling overwhelmed by alot if customers or overworked staff. Hence, a relaxed comfortable atmosphere that inspires you to want to stay longer. I walked out feeling alot more relaxed stoked over the discount finds I made!

Victoria (in the cash) was extremely disrespectful. She even didn’t say « hello ». She was glad my 3.5 dollars discount wasn’t working for the products I bought. I bought more than 27 dollars product in Living Proof brand, so she was suposed to give me a sample. Again, she was super happy about not having the sample and she changed it for face cream, which is not the same.When I asked her to be more polite she was even more rude if possible.Purchasing things here isnt worth it. Has the same price than Sephora and they are truly gentle.
Very clean and quiet for Saturday shopping. Occupancy is pretty low, so its nice to have the run of most of the store. Check out the new Beekman 1802 products!

Ulta Beauty is very clean and the atmosphere is very calming. Stacy-Ann is very knowledgeable about Natural Hair. This is the place to go to when you need assistance with transition. Stacy Ann knows what she is doing. She is also honest with you about your hair. The prices at Ulta is a little steep however it is worth it. I am glad that the recommendation I received was all worth it. Book an appt to see Stacy-Ann on 86th street......

Love this place. The store clerks are so helpful. Ryan was amazing he helped me find the products I needed and took his time explaining everything. He answered all my questions and did my makeup. Hes definitely an asset to Ulta and is so knowledgeable about not only the products but what would best suit your coloring, bone structure, and the occasion.

I went to the salon for color and cut. My hair stylist Tina did an amazing job. Her patient and warm happy personality Also made it a great experience.... for the first time I left the salon smiling. I must say I was a bit taken back by the cost but it was worth it to me. $300 was a lot of money. Glad I had $100 gift card my friend gave me for my birthday. Thank you Tina for doing a great job and building my confidence in your salon. I finally found a stylist that I can go to.

Wow! There is so much much much here. All kinds of products from all kinds of companies. It is jam packed. Although there is a ton of merchandise - and quality level - it feels a little like a discount store. The checkout was a bit tricky to get to because the aisles were narrow and packed with people.BUT - I bet that whatever you need you can find there!
I went in during rush hour on a weekday. The store wasnt packed, but it was fully staffed! Clerks were easy to find and ready to assist me with my questions. I wasnt quite sure what I wanted to pick up and needed their input. I felt it was very fair, not at all pushy and not at all pushing me toward the most expensive brand or item. All of the clerks were so helpful, April spent the most time with me and was informative, patient and help to create just a peaceful, lovely experience.
Ulta @UES rocks. Today was the first time I had a hair service there. I am so happy with my coloring - it was a much-needed treat after this dreaded lockdown. Carmen is worth it. She knows what she’s doing. Looking forward to my next visit.

My sister and I came here for her prom and honestly we were struggling and no one asked to help us or was nowhere near us so we couldnt ask for help. The best workers were in the cashier. They were sweet and quick. Asked if we needed any help. At that point it was too late.The store has a great amount of skincare and hair products that you cant find anywhere else which I love and will be coming back for.

Back to back.2 Thusly, curbside pickup is completely inefficient and redundant as I have to enter the store.3 Making the trip to the store a possibly useless endeavor to begin with because... (1) They dont answer the phone, I can not even find out if the product Im looking to purchase is available.4 Their website states store inventory could be wrong, tells you to call local store to confirm inventory.(Back at 1 like Brian Mcknight) How can I double check a product availability when; you dont answer the phone?Edit: I did make it to the store but unfortunately while they had the items I asked for; only 1 was available in-stock. Theyd just gotten a shipment and were understaffed so they couldnt unload the boxes yet and suggested I come back tomorrow to buy another bottle. I get it. I still think a phone call wouldve settled this without the trip leading to an extra trip. But, for the sake of fixing my review once you get to an actual store rep, (theres a wait for that too as they have like 1 person on the floor servicing 20ppl) theyre super nice and helpful. Lines will be long to enter and to buy, but the entry line goes a lot faster. Until they get more staff I suggest going with a friend and 1 of you immediately enter the buy line and let ppl skip if you reach checkout before, while the other gathers ur products. Youll still wait for check-out, substantially less though. Its not their fault, patience is key. Adding 2 stars for their effort to find my products and their politeness.
