Dr. Choi did a great job keeping me updated on the changes to my eye health since my last appointment, and provided a thorough consultation on my options for new contacts. She was patient and knowledgeable, I’ll make sure to return next year!

I have been going to ophthalmologists my whole life and today saw Dr. My-Hanh Vu for the first time. She is honestly the best ophthalmologist that I have ever been to. This year I saw Dr. Choi and she was great! Before coming to Herald Square Eyecare last year to see Dr. Vu I would dread my annual eye exam. This year I found myself looking forward to coming in knowing I’d be receiving top tier testing and care of my eyes.

I was told that I would get a rebate of $350 from Acuvue for purchasing a year of contact lenses. Of Course it never got approved and with nobody to speak to a loss. This is false advertising and I would not recommend them as a result or Acuvue contact lenses.

I had an appointment today with Dr. Vu because I wanted to try contacts for the first time. Everything moved fast in the office, and I was seen quickly. The technician was very helpful and personable. Dr. Vu is so sweet and thorough. She explained all the pros and cons to me, and she was very patient when I was practicing inserting and removing the contacts.

This location and office staff are so welcoming and showed genuine compassion towards me during my visit. I was having vision issues and they were able to accommodate me very quickly. The exam was thorough and I felt reassured after seeing Dr. Vu! She was so delicate with her hands and able to explain what I was experiencing. It made perfect sense! The employees and doctor here were great. I had to wait for a much longer time than was expected (I guess one of the doctors had to leave), but the assistant apologized multiple times, so I couldnt hold it against anyone, I just wasnt expecting to wait for over an hour. Overall, Dr. Choi was wonderful and the actual exam was great.

Lovely office conveniently located in the Manhattan Hall. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful - I highly recommend seeing Dr. Chultz and working with Angie at the front desk! I went for my very first contact exam and fitting which was surprisingly easier than some of my glasses visits! All of my questions were answered no matter how trivial, both honestly and graciously. I wish I had come here before for my glasses fittings and exams but now that I have, I doubt I will be going elsewhere again.

I had just started commuting and working in the city about 6 months ago and was in desperate need of an eye doctor close to work. I was able to quickly make an appointment online and was seen the next day. Dr. Vu was thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. She was beyond exceptional. The office staff was also very friendly, welcoming and helpful. My insurance wasnt so clear with what was and wasnt covered, but they took the time to call and confirm prior to billing. Overall great experience and would recommend for sure! I didnt have the time that day to look at new glasses, but I remember the quote for contacts sounded high, but again, Im not too sure. They say that they do price check everyday and will match the competition, so if this is true, it is definitely worth it!

I was visiting the city for a few days and managed to tear my contact lense. My provider from home sent me my prescription and Allysia went above and beyond to help me! She helped me right away and made sure that I got a pair of lenses to last me the rest of my trip. She was patient, kind and so helpful! Dr. Choi was very thorough and professional. She discovered I had a retinal tear and promptly referred me to and Ophthalmologist who preformed eye surgery. Had this not been spotted it could have had life altering consequences. I highly recommend Dr. Choi and will continue to see her at this location.

The exam was good but the staff was never clear about the price and procedure, just after the payment. When they told my insurance was not accepted. But then it was too late.

Ive been meaning to write a positive message for this doctors office. My wife and I visited New York last month and as luck would have it she gets an eye infection on our second day. We were happy to find this was across the street from our hotel and the staff courteously worked her in with very little waiting time. Fast forward the next morning and her infection was like nothing had happened! Really sweet doctor and pleasant staff. They saved my wife from being miserable the rest of the trip and we were able to enjoy New York like we wanted.

Very friendly staff and doctors. I went for an eye exam first and 2 days later for contacts fitting. Dr. Vu was very thorough with my eye exam and answering any questions I had. I never wore contacts before and Dr. Li and front desk staff, Nana were really patient with me while I was struggling to put the contacts in.

Awesome in a pinch! I managed to chemically burn my eye on my first day in the city, and they got me in within the hour. Everyone was very nice and the office is well located. Im from a college so far out of town that my insurance wasnt accepted, but what I paid was very fair for what I got out of the appointment!

I scheduled an appointment with herald Square eyecare on a day I had left my debit card at home, had a phone near dead, and didn’t pack an umbrella despite the thunderstorm predicted. Vanessa was incredibly kind and understanding, dealt with my nonsense about having someone else come pay my copay, checked to make sure I could come back a different day to get a contact prescription, and made me feel like I hadn’t just walked 20 minutes through a rainstorm to sit and get an eye exam. I came back a week later and she was equally as kind- accomplished this time by her colleague Damien who was an absolutely gem of a person. He was funny, generous with his time, and competent at explaining my benefits and eligibility. When I was done with the contact fitting, Soultana from LensCrafters helped me find a cheaper lens and was patient with my budget friendly self. I don’t tend to write reviews on google, or yelp, but I’m cross-posting this review because as weird as it in that in this society we have to shell out hundreds of dollars to be able to see, even with private insurance, and could hugely benefit from an update to our insurance and medical system- the individuals here really go above and beyond to help me set aside my frustrations with the general healthcare industry, and also are just some genuinely nice folks.

Dr. Vu is lovely and she was very thorough. The office manager, Margaret, and her staff made me feel welcome and super comfortable. They all went above and beyond in my opinion. I will definitely be back!

My eye exam was fine, and took all of 10 minutes. The waiting for an hour was absurd - with no apology for any lateness was something that wasnt appreciated. In no world would i show up an hour late, and then not even think to excuse that behavior.

Dr. Christie Choi, Rachael, and staff were wonderful and provided excellent one on one care. Also, all of the tests are done by the newest and least invasive of machines, no puff of air in my eye or dilation.

I went here one day before I was going on vacation with the hope that I could get some contacts because the ones that I ordered from another store were never delivered to me. It was a long shot to think that they would have my contacts in stock, and I was seriously freaking out, but Shiya, Allysia and Nana were so amazing and patient with helping me. They were able to find my contacts and even gave me a better price on them then I paid in the other shop. I would absolutely recommend going here!

Today I went to LensCrafters in Manhattan Mall to fix my new frame just few weeks. They are the one near my office and I believe they are big brand in NY, will have a professional service. But totally bad service. They scratch my frame and the lens as soon as they do the fixing. Their frame w/lens is not cheap (frame+lens $750.00), most of the people thing they will have good hand on the product. Totally wrong! Dont thing about pay your money in this store.

This is a great optometrist facility, located inside a lenscrafters in the manhattan mall. everyone is very helpful and very friendly. make sure that everything youre getting is being covered by your insurance. they said i was going to get a eye health exam as if it was a part of the whole appointment only to find out that it was an extra service that they didnt really ask me if i wanted the option. they are a bit on the expensive side as they charge extra if you have astigmatism - my previous optometrists never added this charge. other than how they handle their charges and billing (overpriced and sneaky) the people are nice, respectful and know what they are doing.

My Eye Exam was great, however my overall experience was terrible.When I showed up to pick up my glasses (despite being paid in full) they demanded that I show them a copy of my credit card I used to purchase the glasses. They claimed it was to verify my identity. I offered to show my drivers license and my debit card, they refused. I asked to speak with a manager and was put in a chair and completely ignored for over 20 minutes. I finally called their 1800 number who resolved the problem within about 15 minutes.The store staff is horrible, rude, lazy and doesnt have the ability to think for themselves. Terrible experience, I will NEVER go back.

I do not do Google reviews, but for patient safety and experience, I decided to do one.My visit could be summarized as: Unclean. Rude. Dishonest. Overpriced. Unprofessional.This was the worse experience I’ve had. I feel ripped off and as if I dealt with dishonest people. The staff was very unprofessional. If they weren’t making fun of customers, they were joking and watching Youtube videos.Using the eye equipment and tests, I felt as if my health was not a priority. I never saw anyone clean or sterilize the equipment before or after.When I asked questions about my insurance coverage and what I had to pay, the frontdesk woman wasn’t able to answer them. She would get angry and say that’s what the computer says and if I had a problem, I can contact my insurance or use another provider. I feel as if I overpaid since what my insurance says I should pay and what I paid is hundreds of dollars more.It was a bad experience. I do not feel comfortable going back, and on Monday, I will call my insurance to see if the 2nd part of my eye exam can be done by another doctor. I do not trust Dr. Diana Li. I asked her for my pupillary distance which has been provided by almost every eye doctor I have seen. She told me to ask the front desk who didn’t provide it. They told me to talk to an untrained sales person. After I asked for a written policy, the manager gave me the pupillary distance. The machine he used was also not sterilized either.It’s very unfortunate because I at one time had good experiences at this location, but that was years ago. My fault from returning.My advice? If for whatever reason you have to use this facility, Ask upfront for the total cost of the visit. Ask for a justification for everything you’re being billed. And ask the staff to sterilize everything with you watching – even if they said they did. It’s your health and you are going for healthy eyes, not an eye infection.

Prescription seemed challenging. Different diopters for each eye, lenses would need to take care of multiple vision issues.After being informed that their lab in the premises would be able to manufacture my lenses on the same day according to the prescription they provided to me, I went ahead and purchased the above described glasses.Unfortunately, when I returned to the store later on to pickup the glasses the staff double checked the glasses and told me there was a defect in one of the lenses.I was surprised that defective lenses would be detected by the staff selling the glasses instead of the lab technicians. Would that mean the floor personnel has more technical knowledge than the technicians working at the lab? Or maybe the lab production is not reliable enough and the sales team has this mission of saving their customers from using bad glasses?Maybe someone would think they just told me they had the required lenses in stock to get my business. I prefer to think that this was just an unfortunate event. But, here is my story for help other prospective buyers of Lenscrafters and, why not, the store management to improve their service quality of their lab.Lets not forget glasses and lenses bought online would be much cheaper. When someone pays full price at a company such as Lenscrafters, quality should not depend on chance.
