HZ Computer is EVERYTHING that supporting a small business should be, great service, fair and honest, really cares about the customer and is literally a one stop shop for almost anything you needChances are if you are reading this review, you are probably in a state of panic and have done something to disable your laptop or desktop. If you go to Beat Buy or Staples, they will charge you $50, just to sneeze on your computer, and then you need to buy overpriced parts and additional labor. The smallest fix for the simplest thing will cost you $150 there, and more likely, you will be better off just buying a new computerThis is where Bill (not Phil) really excels. I explained my issue over the phone, and he was able to immediately give me options on what might be wrong, and what solutions he would take (from fixing it to just telling me to buy a new computer)..Bill has all the diagnostic tools available to see what the issue is, and will tell you real time what the time and cost involved are (another reviewer even said he was kind of enough to give her a loaner computer - try that at Best Buy!!!)True to his word, Bill fixed my issue, charged me the actual price that he said he would charge me when we spoke on the phone, gave me a warranty for his service and even fixed a few little things that I wasnt aware of.I noticed that during my time there, several of the local people came in with various issues, seeing if Bill could fix it on the spot, and I never saw him charge any of them,In sum, if you need your computer fixed, and dont want to get ripped off, and want to support a great small business, THIS IS THE PLACE. Bill, the owner of the shop, is very knowledgable, polite, and super attentive. I had a really weird issue where my Lenovo Yoga 920 was not recognizing my hard-drive. Bill was very quick to diagnose the problem and fix it (turns out there is a hardward piece that connects the hard drive to the mother board that was broken). I am currently in Law School and had an important test to take this week (the NYLE), so Bill made sure to provide me with a back-up of the files on my hard drive and provide me a very good loaner laptop while my compute was being fixed. Cant thank him enough! I recommend calling before visiting his shop, since Bill sometimes might be out visiting other clients.

Phil from HZ Computer is amazing. I unfortunately lost all my data from my external hard-drive, and naturally I lost it. I then did the worst thing possible: I tried to save it myself and formatted it by following a bad blog. DO NOT EVER do this, just go to Phil and hell save your drive. Hes super helpful, understanding, patient, and kind. Anyone else will be annoyed by my worrying, but he took it so well. Thank you Phil, thank you!

Went to fix my computer after windows updated and crashed everything. Bill was patient, knowledgeable and overall was just a great experience. Its an old school store that reminds me of the good old days where everyone knows everyone. He even recommended a couple of cool spots to eat and I wasnt disappointed either!

Just wanted to write a review for HZ Computer. I spoke with the owner by phone a day just before the NY lockdown went into effect. My desktop tower system fan failed. The owner was very patient and even after several back-and-forth phone calls. He asked me for information of my computer which I did not have on hand.I canceled the appointment to bring him my desktop tower because the cops ordered his business to shut down and I wasnt sure when I would get it back.In the end, I used Youtube videos and figured out which part to order from Amazon. I was able to clean the system myself and uninstall and replace the system fan.The owner was very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping solve the issue than to make a sale. I highly recommend him.

The guy who runs the place is really good and knows his stuff. My Acer windows laptop got corrupted while updating from window 8 to 10, and he was able to check the data, verify most of my stuff was saved on D drive, and install windows 10 over C drive. Says it takes about 2 hours, so I dropped it off and picked it up next day which is just now. My laptop is finally up and running again!

Came to Jay with a very difficult job -- taking a super slim ultrabook that had a completely broken case, and essentially rebuilding it into a new case I had ordered online. He did it in one day and blew away the competition in terms of pricing and time. Really remarkable work. Will definitely be back.He also just seems like a nice, professional, and reasonable guy in general.
