The food was absolutely fantastic (you can tell it from the photos) and the service was good as well - everyone was so friendly. I wanted to try a gluten-free bread plus a poached egg and salmon on it. I was immediately amazed by the portion and the beauty of the food when it came out, and it was one of the best avocado toasts I ever had and it certainly made my day! I was expecting a rather average toast which I had from other Bluestone Lane locations previously, but this one was completely imcomparable. Just check out the attached photos. Thanks❤️👏👏
Very close to the Guggenheim if you want a delicious bite to eat after the museum! I had a chicken wrap, it was delicious. The roasted carrots were good too! The hibiscus tea and iced cold brew were great to drink on a warm August day. Seating/availability was limited, so with zero wait time we got a very sunny spot outside, that was a bit uncomfortable. Also, I asked for no avocado (allergic) and there was avocado, but it was quickly replaced with a kind apology. The wait staff was great!
Cons: Very wobbly outdoor table.Pros: fresh food, delicious coffee. The staff are attentive and helpful. I had an issue with their ordering system (to order, you scan a QR code, select menu items, and pay through your phone) and my order wouldn’t go through. Before I even had the chance to ask someone for help, the person I can only assume was the manager was out on the floor checking on tables. Even though we didn’t have food or drinks on our table, he asked us how we were doing and if we had any questions. I informed him of my problem and he immediately sent someone over to take my order manually. I was checked on several more times throughout my breakfast. The staff is amazing, the food is amazing, it’s a great breakfast spot!
Some of the best espresso Ive had in the whole 5 boroughs! Absolutely delicious and well portioned, cappuccinos are small and foamy and lattes arent overpowered by the milk, rather the amazing espresso flavor. There is a little bit if a wait, but worth it, and plenty of open air space for waiting. Cute paper straws and branded cups! Friendly staff, and I liked the concept of placing your order at the front booth and having it come from the back in a tray!
I’m not a huge fan of ordering everything on your phone, but I appreciated the generally friendly staff, despite a sort of chaotic atmosphere that doesn’t quite match the church-vestibule setting. Ordered a breakfast bowl with farro, sautéed kale, an egg, etc. What I got was a spinach salad. I told one of the staff and he immediately apologized and said the bill would be on him, which I appreciated. I will update this when the refund appears. It was, nonetheless a healthy and nourishing breakfast which is what I was ultimately looking for Other than that the bacon was thin and mediocre, but the can of beer was cold and I was offered a (warm) glass for it—so I have to say in most of what I experienced I say good effort with inconsistent execution. I could see myself having a better experience maybe at a different time, so, we’ll see!
Waited for 25 min for table. All ordering is online through their app they ask you to download, ordered avocado toast with no feta and added dairy allergy note. When I received the toast there was remnants of feta. I understand the risk of cross contamination but the bread was obviously placed on a surface that was not at minimum wiped down and still had CHUNKS of feta on it. My friend ordered at the same time as me and he received his food 10 minutes after me. Also our outdoor table was dramatically uneven and we had to keep our glasses from spilling when it moved. This place is very busy and the staff are really nice.
Not sure what I’m tipping for? And surprised by the incredibly inflated food prices. The whole experience is disjointed. I need to download an app in order to order food, while sitting down. It’s the app the serves us, not a server. Part of the hospitality industry is providing service, and while the staff is friendly, I’m not quite sure what kind of hospitality I’m receiving from this company. The atmosphere is chaotic and even if you ask if you can order with a server, they absolutely can’t take your food order, they point you to the app. As if we don’t already spend enough time on our screens, this chain wants you to spend even more time on your phone and also make you tip for hospitality you don’t receive. It’s a shame because 3 years ago, this was one of the better places in the neighborhood to receive good food and food service. Disappointing to see the owners sell out for an app.
Amazing food! Fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. Staff were attentive and friendly. Servers were cheerful and smiling. I will go again and have already recommended it to friends and family.
Wonderful experience. Neat location (inside a church!). Staff were so nice and wonderful. We ordered online to dine in, but they still were attentive, kind, and friendly. The food was yummy! Had the bowl and a cake pastry. They were both great! Delicious.Bathroom was really gross though.
I have been here most of time and allStaff is usually super nice. But today Christian, young individual with beautiful tattoos was unbelievable hospitable and helping. He was extremely accommodating, nice and efficient. And it is very hot and busy day. Not easy to keep up being nice in such days. Pleased with his customer service highly.
The experience of using the app was unpleasant, even to just look at the menu you must download it. It is also unintuitive as we were easily able to accidentally order take out instead of dine in. My food also came about 10 minutes after my friends with the egg missing. Additionally I ordered the breakfast bowl and my kale did not come sautéed like the menu said it would and the whole thing was cold with an overcooked poached egg (egg came later than the meal). However the staff was very nice and patience and obviously super busy with rush orders.
The coffee was delicious. BUT it took a long time to come. I asked for no cocoa on my cappuccino and it came with but I had no time to wait for a replacement so I drank it. The server was in compassionate when I asked mid wait what was up. I waitresses 30 years ago when you had to work for your tip. Perhaps it was just Covid where you tip in advance I hope. Also the music inside was blaring. Disco level. So if it’s winter, give it a miss. I sat outside.
Avocado Toast was a bit bland. It needed a bit of salt, pepper and a pinch of cayenne. The cows yogurt granola was good but definitely needed the honey which the waitress was more than happy to provide. The waitress was nice and the restaurant atmosphere was good. They do have a nice patio as well and very close to central park. The only thing that I did not like about this restaurant was that when my party and I paid the bill they added the gratuity without letting us know. Everything was paperless and wasnt clear. We had a party of four and I personally dont feel that gratuity should have been added beforehand. As it wasnt brought to our attention that it was added, we paid over 28% gratuity. I think that was pretty ridiculous. I would suggest just double checking before paying.
This beautiful outpost of Bluestone lane is actually located in a church and is called the heavenly rest stop! They dont take reservations so on days when its nice, be prepared to wait at least half an hour. The coffee is definitely worth the wait, to go along with a well made avocado toast. My wife had the hot chocolate and found it fantastic. Id also recommend the rainbow bowl. Expect to pay around $20-25 a head.
Be careful, they add gratuity to takeout orders without even asking or telling you about this new covid policy that apparently their management has enforced. And the server was rude to us when we were just waiting at one of their outdoor tables for our takeout order for like 2 minutes when it was 94 degrees outside at 4 pm. Overall just a super weird experience.
Nice place. I have a lunch here - so tasty. Really good food and coffee: cold brew my favorite taste new!
I loved this spot. Its across the road from Central Park and has a lovely, healthy breakfast menu at surprisingly decent prices. I had a turmeric latte and a warm breakfast bowl with quinoa and oats, topped with fresh blueberries, banana and granola which was quite good and filling. Service was quick. Pretty impressive.
Service: Come to pick my order up. I’m looked at like a stick up kid. What happened to hello how may I help you?Food: I don’t know if it was laziness or pure neglect. I get shells in my eggs at times I either pluck them out or use new eggs. Brought the best mates bowl it was so good. One of my most tastiest meals I’ve had. Until I choked on a shell. Almost threw up still having PTSD because of it. EGGS ARE NOT THE SAME NO MORE
Been here twice now. I came today to meet up with a friend. Truly enjoy the space and the architecture. The service was friendly and quick. A bit crowded given it is the weekend. The location couldn’t be beat - right next to Guggenheim museum and Central Park. I got the beetroot latte and avocado toast. True to Bluestone, presentations were superb. ✨
It’s a nice little cafe with good ambiance and friendly staff. The food we ordered was good too. Recommended.
Good, large coffee options. Yogurt was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. Location is best seller
Great staff, fresh food, and Great ManagementAnd so nice to our pooch lolNice way to start the day!
Proportions are quite small for the price.I got the ice magic drink, its not that great .I had to order and pay online and the food was brought to me, I chose a chocolate croissant but when they brought the food they said they are out of croissant and I had to choose again, ended up with banana bread.A bit dense but nice taste .
Had a quick latte before meeting friends at the park and was not disappointed.
Rough start given the hour wait and some list issues (be prepared to be patient on the weekends!). That aside, no doubt one of the best avocado toasts I’ve ever had. Great portions, heaping amount of avocado and going the extra mile with all the fixins (heirloom tomatoes, feta, sprouts...). The black bean soup is fantastic too. Lots of coffee and super latte options. Beautiful but small location in a vaulted nook adjacent to a church. Perfect after a stroll, run or outing in Central Park.
You must order through an app on your phone with a QR code posted on the table. The app automatically put in a tip for 100% of my bill. This took over two days to be straightened out.
Perfect place for brunch after a long run in CP. Can be crowded on certain times during weekends.
The food was ok but we had to wait over 30 minutes for a sandwich. Also, it seems like the place has become completely unaccustomed to international tourists over the course of the pandemic. They did not take cash and their system to order when seated at a table took only credit cards from the US or Canada, they had to call in a manager just to let us pay in one of the more touristic locations in the city.
A review of the initial experience rather than the food or coffee as we never made it inside. Generally our view of Bluestone Lane has been great, but this location is very popular and on the Sunday we visited it was poorly staffed. The queue outside seemed to be organized in a whoever forces their way to the front first gets seated. We queued but others just walked passed and were happily but randomly served by waiters in an ad hoc manner. There was no eye contact or well get to you soon from any staff and after the third time people were seated out-of-turn we gave up. They need a dedicated person to arrange the queue on popular days.
Not a great experience. They didnt include utensils, napkins or straws for our tea in our pickup order so instead of eating in the park like we planned, we had to go home with our now cold food. The Big Brekkie was seriously bland. The breakfast burrito was ok but wrapped in a way that each ingredient was a bite of its own. All the egg on one side, all the bacon on the other side. One bite was entirely just cheese. It was kind of gross. The banana bread was good.
The customer service at this location was very disappointing. One employee was barking customers away near closing time. Barista was crazy rude when we inquired whether our drinks were made properly (didn’t taste so). Coffee is good, but there are more enjoyable experiences for coffee in the neighborhood.
Very good coffee, and its proximity to the Guggenheim and the park makes it very convenient. Its a coffeeshop! You pay for the neighborhood and the convenience, staff has been very friendly in my experience.
It was first time when we were here. Good coffee, especially when you are from Europe. Recommended
Such friendly service, really good food and coffee. Will definitely be back!
This coffee place is quite tiny, knowing it’s in a church we thought there would plenty of tables and space. However the crowded room makes it cozy and the ambiance is great. I had a Bellini drink for breakfast with délicieux avocado toast with poached egg. Very yummy and fresh. The staff is great, friendly and smiling. I wish there would be an option to pay cash!! You can only use plastic to pay.
Good food and ambiance! Attentive staff and the Manager Alex made us feel right at home!
The kiosk outside is slow and staffed by people who don’t know what they’re doing. Had one order take forever and ultimately decided not to place another because they couldn’t figure out how to accept their own rewards app!
Almost impossible to grab a table when it’s beautiful outside. = beautiful.
Love bluestone lane..great coffee and food but worst waitstaff. They just completely ignore you when you get to the counter. Ordered a few times at the UES location and literally get ignored at the cart and my order usually takes about 15-20 mins for a cup of coffee that I order on the app....
Always a little too pricey for what you get, but the coffee is quality and the brunch foods are great (especially the avocado toast, though at $14 without even an egg on it it’s a bit steep). Still a perfect outdoor / sidewalk set up for takeaway /to-go coffee or a quick breakfast bite during this Covid 2020 outdoor dining season. Tons of outdoor seating spaced out along the sidewalk with some umbrellas. You order everything digitally on your phone whether taking out or sitting down. No bathroom access. Super nice staff, and amazing location connected to the beautiful church building.
40 mins for an iced mocha. Selective service based on race and appearance.
This place has really fallen from grace. Used to be such a great spot for brunch by the park, but service standards have really fallen. When we showed up there was one server chatting away with his friend, and one poor server seemingly working all the tables herself. We were asked if we needed salt, pepper or hot sauce, but no one ever came back with any. Overpriced for what it is. Hopefully standards will go back to normal after the pandemic.
Made reservations via Resy. We were seated in a wind tunnel without a heat lamp. The man who sat us down didnt give us a menu (or return) and when we flagged him down to ask for another table his response was that he does not make the weather. This impressive, professional answer encouraged us to go to Bocado nearby, where we had a great brunch that even came with mimosas! Although we were looking forward to this unique coffee shop, the service prevented us from staying. I cant even tell you about the menu because we never got it! Such a shame.
Great iced latte: 3 shots + oat. :) Friendly staff!
Surrounded by arches of a Church, right across Central Park, this is an ideal place for breakfast all day long, and a light lunch. It’s a cozy place, where the staff is so polite and wonderful. Love coming here most especially after a race in Central Park, where I train for my Marathons. Love Bluestone Lane East Side! Dejando huellas...Montserrat
Every time I order the order comes in wrong different bread missing items they havent gotten a single. best of all they dont pick up the phone and you have to contact them through seamless. Dont waste your time or money.
Oh my goodness! I love the Lamington. Its my absolute favorite. This was the first thing i ate after coming out of hospital from surgery. This is heaven, guys. Coconut on the outside is amazing. Best of all, it melts in your mouth. And i come to know that its Australian! Wow i did not know that but for sure it tastes so good!!!! The flavor combinations take you to a different world.
Right near the park, and great outdoor seating.
Delicious ice lattePleasant service
It is lucky for me that this place is in my neighborhood so that my family could become their customer for many years; the cafe is so beautiful to hang out with friends and family. Actually, I hadn’t felt that good before because of their poor service. However, the first visit after reopening changed it, totally. I had a brunch after my son’s soccer game at Central Park, and it just became a routine to go there; my 7 year old boy loves it since we had Alex’s hospitable service. I was simply amazed that Alex (probably he is a manager there) dedicated to ensuring his customers are happy with everything!! Alex Chan rememberers what I have gotten before. I am kind of particular on specific items on a plate. For last visit, I couldn’t mentioned them my preferences for my order because it was very busy, but he knows me and took care of everything. I guess Alex is focused and got enthusiasm. He may be perfectionist... I don’t know, but I love it!Their coffee makes me happy and I’ve never been disappointed with the foods, recently. Even side oder of salad is very fresh and yummy! (much better than Le Pain Quotidian🙄)I would give 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+🌟!!!
I waited 30 minutes for latte and a pastry at a non peak hour. Its crazy how slow the staff is at this location. The blonde chubby woman at the counter seemed upset when I asked her for an update on the order. Never again.
A chain coffee shop based in NYC, stylistically born out of the Melbourne coffee shop scene, Bluestone Lane offers a wide variety of expertly prepared coffee options. If you like a robust, no-nonsense cup of jo, Bluestone is hard to beat. The flat white is also a classic here, and the largely Australian staff will charm you with their friendly service and winsome accents. Further, the food selection here, while impressive, is generally overpriced and not worth the wait. However, this location is absolutely stunning! Built into a chapel style building, and conveniently located mere blocks from the MET, its hard to pass up Bluestone on a day in the park or at one of the surrounding museums.
Everything positive, including the app ordering, speed of service, a happy greeting, and best of all the flavor of my delicious order of Chai Latte!!!
Best location in NYC! 🤩
Good service! Good food. The rainbow salad is awesome!
