This is one of goodwills curated stores, though Im not sure what they mean by that as at least for menswear there is very little, and the brands and styles are the same as almost every other location, thou the prices are higher for some if their name brand items then at others. They had a north face gore tex jacket for $79, yet I got a similar one for $30 at their e 86th location.

Really good Goodwill location, literally and figuratively. They were super friendly and answered all my questions. It is quite tiny but that is New York City for you. They have more than enough clothes and shoes for you to choose from and even a small section with the random bits and bobs. They also have books, DVDs and I believe some games as well. They have a fitting room and they also accept donations at this location.

Best Goodwill in NYC. Love the color coordination and arrangement by sizes. A joy for the eyes, and a truly terrific place to discover hidden gems (you can get designer apparels that look as good as new for less than 10% of retail price). Employees are friendly and patient. Just a great place to stop by whenever Im in the area.Only complaint is the dressing rooms location in the middle of the store. Its just one of my pet peeves, but I feel a little uncomfortable with the thought that people can watch my legs putting on pants from the outside. Oh well. :P

I had the most humiliating experience in the store on 25th Street today. I went in with my sister and son searching for dresses. I picked out 5 potential and ask the security guard to let me in the fitting room. He advised that I can only try 3 at a time. I agreed and went in with the first 3, tried two and returned on the rack in front of the room. I grabbed the other two, tried, returned and chose one. After selecting the dress my family and I were heading to the register when the guard came behind me and said where is the purple dress u tried? I responded calmly that its on the rack by the fitting room, or perhaps another person is trying it and he replied No obnoxiously and added could it be in your bag? I automatically felt offended, insulted, upset and honestly words cant explain my current pain. I told him excuse me why would it be in my bag? I open the bag and walked with him toward the fitting room. The dress was returned by the sales lady on another rack on the sales floor but still near the fitting room. After I pointed the dress, he neither apologized to me but decided to walk away, I then called the manager whos name is Sarah, not sure if that is even her real name since none of the store associates have name tags. She was there the whole time, witnessed the entire incident and again no apologies. I asked for her name and that of the guard and she refused to give the guards name. As if that was not enough as I was checking out, the customer in front of me who was also African American asked to see a bag behind the register, she looked at it and returned to the cashier who then asked her if her personal purse was actually hers or that of the store? This store lacks great training and obviously theres profiling going on. Ive donated to goodwill for many years and will never step foot here and I advised anyone reading to share this post. They need to train their employees as we are the one donating and shopping here to contribute to their greater good. Im emotionally distressed by this situation

Its smaller than some of the other Goodwills.... I prefer to shop at bigger stores...with more space and selections, it has a boutique vibe more so than a thrift store.... stuff was high and that was very surprising... this is Goodwill not a for profit store... so why? I found it odd that one worker was overly helpful... to the point I felt uncomfortable I like my space when I shop so I definitely left empty handed and will not be returning. I love good customer service but I did not need a personal shopper basically walking side by side me during the whole time I was shopping.

This Goodwill use to be one of my favorites until I had the misfortune of dealing with idiots. I purchased a top the night before and the store cashier Harrison marked it as a dress. I went today to do an exchange and the “manager” had me wait 15-20minutes while he checked in the back only to tell me he couldn’t return the item because of the mistake of their employee who conveniently was not in. The “manager” advised to me come in and speak with “The Manager” (I guess the GM) the next day (Saturday). Well I can’t I live in NJ and am not coming to the city over the weekend. Trust and believe I will call and give an earful to “The Manager.” It’s a shame I used to come there often, spending a good chuck of money most visits. Well I won’t be there anymore because I got the notion they thought I stoled a Goodwill item. I make a good living, really do not need to steal from Goodwill; not that serious buddy. In my opinion, the crook is really Goodwill.

This store was great until recently. The have posted $7.99 for shirts but the new manager now raises prices for donations with commun brands. I am worried that this is money that is being skimmed. Specially since the last manager was also let go for stealing. Even the employees agree when I point out the price hikes and say that Kim is the new “Boss” and she controls the pricing now. They are donations! Stop raising prices without justification. People come here for a bargain on used items that again were DONATED.

Goodwill is always great. This one on West 25th, btwn 5th & 6th, is one of my favorites. The Staff need to better enforce the three item limit in the dressing room: some people, with no courtesy or consideration, go in the two dressing rooms loaded up with 15-20 pieces of clothing, and everyone else is left waiting in line 30-35 minutes, and, frustrated, many leave without buying anything, like I did today. Really-you expect us to wait 30 minutes to pay $7.99 for an old pair of Levis? Not even in the rain, when Im stuck wearing a pair of shorts. Still, the employees are all great, security always respectful, and prices more than fair. So, even mad, Ill give em ****

Sticky ooze on items and a rude security guard.Today, I picked up an item that had some sort of orange gunk on it, and got it on my hand. I went up to the staff to ask about using a bathroom or a sink to wash my hands. The security guard kind of dragged his heels, but said hed see what he could do, so I followed him to the back. The public restroom was out of order, so he went into the employee restroom and got a dry towel. I told him Id feel more comfortable actually washing my hands off, since I have no idea what this stuff is, and a dry paper towel wont get it all off. He says See that sign? Employees only.At this point, Im getting seriously annoyed since:a) It was because they failed to inspect and clean something that I now have a mystery substance on my hands, so its up to them to make that right.b) The public restroom was out-of-order. Since you owe me a sink, where else is it gonna be?I was pissed at him blocking the bathroom, and it was starting to escalate, but luckily another employee showed up with some purell. Thats still not as effective as real soap when it comes to infections, but whatever, its close enough. In short, go here if you havent licked your daily subway pole and feel like being mistreated.

The point of this review: To express my feelings of disappointment and to show their incompetence. The way they handled the situation was incomprehensible because they had to put back all the clothes anyway. It would have been easier to wait 10 seconds so I can walk up to the register to pay. They wouldnt let me pay for any items even though the store was not closed yet. It made no sense. The story of what happened (TL;DR included after this review):I went in about an hour before closing with my sister. We tried on clothes that we gathered throughout the store. We were willing to spend $200 since we needed clothes. While we were trying clothes on the staff was rushing us because they were closing the register soon (even though the store wasnt closing oficially for another 10 mins). I thought this was ok because stores do that sometimes. At this point we had already tried on most of the clothes and were getting dressed. The cashier and the lady on the floor were communicating with eachother; the lady on the floor let the cashier know we were getting dressed which I thought was great. Even though she rudely kept counting down in a condescending tone: Closing the register in 5 seconds and then again while we were putting on our shoes: 2 seconds (I dont think the condescending tone was necessary to convey this, but maybe she was tired and looking forward to leaving her workplace). So at this point I grabbed a bunch of items and rushed to go pay (my jeans were still open because I couldnt properly put them on while rushing). The lady who was rushing us told us shes already counting the register...so I asked the cashier directly if its any trouble to pay with credit or debit and she said register is closed. Which I found rude (because why rush me to just close the register anyway?). I asked if she can hold the clothes, but she informed me the stores policy forbids it (understandable). Then, someone else casually said we can just come back early the next day and everything will be in the same place (but how? They were reorganizing everything). When they can just reopen the register to make everything easier. They act like a paying customer is such an inconvenience to them. Also, Im not from around there. We ended up leaving everything behind. It was very disappointing because one of the things I found was a pair of comfortable flats for an upcoming interview. I could almost never find nice shoes that fit my calloused feet (with a bunion).TL;DRWhy rudely rush us about the register specifically if you werent going to wait for us to pay? The store wasnt closing for another 10 mins. Why close the register KNOWING that we are going to pay for stuff?Pros: spacious, 2 fitting roomsCons: Disorganized (womens clothes in the mens section), staff are spiteful, overpriced items (example: a thin polyester h&m shirt with a missing button was $8 plus tax), It was blue tagged items on sale day, but hardly any items with blue tags.

So many designer brand items itll make your brain spin (Ive also never seen a Goodwill with a guard at the door... that tells you something!) After visiting (despite bad reviews), its clear whats happening here. Although small in size, this thrift shop (in prime location) is obviously everyones favorite. They must think that giving it less-than-flattering reviews will deter the rest of us. Theyd be terribly wrong! BA HA HA This is the nicest Goodwill Ive ever seen: a good mix of classic and trendy styles (Banana, jcrew, Zara, uniqlo, etc.) with high-end stuff from the east coast and Europe (!). Though highr in price than other locations, my entire purchase was 1/2 off! WINNING My only regret is not being able to spend more time here with the awesome staff, surrounded by beautiful things. ♡

This is an official complaint.I came in to your store with my two children at 103 W 25st, New York,10001, at around 3pm, Saturday December 23, 2017. My children entered the store greeted the security guard and started looking at merchandise. My son came to me very upset stated that an African American worker (female) with braids in her hair came up to him and stated he must check his backpack. My son stated that it was numerous people with back packs on and didnt have to check theirs in especially numerous whites. I was very annoyed and left because everyone should be treated equally doesnt matter the color of your skin. All African Americans arent dishonest and steal. My family were targeted and treated very unfairly. I will file a notice of claim against Goodwill because my family were discriminated against and I will never go to this store again. I went to your other store on 23 st and purchased iteams and had a great experience one hour before. This location on 25th St should be shut down for unfair treatment of blacks. Im going to contact Ali Sharptons office because this is very heartbreaking to see my family trying to come to buy things but being targeted because were African American. Im hurt and appalled that no human being should be treated this way. Please rectify or you will face numerous lawsuits.Shame on your store for treated my family this Way during the holiday season. Im a single mother just trying to save a dollar buy buying used iteams. Im speechless and will advocate for my family.😢😢😢😭👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼🤞🏼

Set of four drinking glasses in a box was marked $3.99. The cashier called the manager over and they accused customers (implying it was me) of switching price tags. There were two stickers on the cardboard box that were stuck on and clearly not peeled off. There were three other boxes priced similarly and the security guard came over and accused slick customers of price switching. They refused to sell them to me and insisted the cost was $9.99 per box for 4 glasses. No thanks.I saw a news article in the past where a customer was complaining about the same at this location. I dont know what it is about goodwill stores in NY( Ive only been to 2 here lol), but i feel like theres judgement when you walk through the door. Its getting old and just plain disgusting how people are being belittled (not just I).I saw this store on the way and thought Id stop in; i rarely, if ever come to the city unless for work related things. Im from long Island. Which pisses me off even more with how i was treated. Was only in there for literally 1 min and one of the security guards came up to me and asked me to leave my backpack up front next to the cashiers.Ok i get it.. there are dishonest people in the world but that seemed whats the word.. singling me out for not using a purse or something else. What if i had really expensive things in my backpack that day?? You think i would just trust a random person to watch over my stuff lol? What if they rummaged through it? Anyway Ive decided it wasnt worth it, defending myself etc, and i didnt want to leave my backpack with strangers so i left. Such scrutiny (thats the word). I didnt check but im almost certain that there were ladies in the store with purses that werent asked to leave it up front. Hell, everyone has to leave their personal belongings up front, be scrutinized and feel like a criminal. Lol can you imagine? Really disappointed that i couldnt even browse without feeling like Ive done something wrong.Word of advice.. dont wear a backpack.. or anything for that matter.
