I went there to ask a few questions about my sigma lens and while they couldnt take a look at it due to Sigmas unfriendly repair shop policy, they were very helpful and kind. The guy there spent a good 5-10 minutes speaking with me and giving giving advice on how to go about resolving my problem.Really decent, lovely people. I definitely will go back for all my future camera problems.

Dropped off 2 older cameras for repairs and a CLA. They said not a problem, and that they could fix them. This was supposed to take 1 month, ended up taking 2 months and change. Both cameras were CLAd but neither of the issues I flagged were solved. The meter still doesnt work on one of them and the advancing leaver is still hit or miss on the other. Raised this issue with them to which they said, these things happen with cameras that old and parts are hard to find. Ya, duh, thats why I brought it do you in the first place, and specifically asked if you could fix these problems. Even after they took 2 weeks to inspect and give their assessment they said they could fix the issues. Essentially paid for a CLA on 2 cameras that still have issues beyond just needing a tune-up. Its like getting an oil change on a car that doesnt have a transmission. You knew you didnt fix the cameras, but still charged me for the pointless task of doing the CLA without consulting me. Dont bother with these guys.

I had an unpleasant experience here with a Canon AE-1. There was a lot of surly back-and-forthing, which would be kind of boring to describe. The upshot was that they were ultimately unable to fix something that they said they would be able to fix (a light meter) and they later informed me that it would be impossible for me to get my camera fixed anywhere. I found this hard to believe, and after some internet sleuthing, I sent my camera off to Camera Clinic in Mandan, North Dakota. The light meter is working fine now. In future, Ill be avoiding this place and sending my camera off to North Dakota. Even if it winds up taking longer, the professionalism and customer service is worth waiting for.

Before making the appointment explained that the battery pack in the camera got stuck in the Hasselblad X1D. I had to travel far to get to the place and once I got there I was told that they have another camera with the same problem which they have to service BUT can not take my camera for some reason. Clearly if they took someone elses camera with the same problem then why cant they take mine to service? Just shows lack of consideration and professionalism. It would have save me time and money if they told me they couldnt do it before making the appointment. And they directed me to go to B&H. FYI B&H is a retail store not a repair shop. Really dont understand how they got such a good rating.

They are good people, but lack of professionalism. I went there to clean the sensor of my camera. Once I got the camera back, I immediately realize the camera was not clean. After my photoshoot, I saw that the sensor was even dirtier than before. I emailed them, and they never answered until I called them five days later. He said that he forwarded the email to the technician. The store is 35 square feet. He told me to go back and bring my lens, maybe the lens was dirty. Sure! ( I clean my lenses every week). I went back, with the camera and lens. Two of them were trying to clean the sensor, looking inside the camera and wearing no gloves. All good now! - He said. I went to my photoshoot the next day, came back to edit, still dirty and stain all over the sensor. I emailed them with photos, never heard back. Its been more than a month. Probably the technician lost his way from his desk to the computer.

I use my camera for my job as an actor, but not an expert or photographer by any means. Was really concerned when it stopped working and COVID struck on the same day, and nervous about being over charged, swindled, having it stolen, not fixed well, etc.I took a swing with Camera Doctor, and I am so pleased that it did;Excellent customer service, friendly, knowledgeable, and on top of their game – even when restarting their business during the pandemic.Would highly recommend.

Had a Cannon DSLR where SD card not working. They diagnosed that pin in reader bent. Discussed replacing but cost of parts vs value of camera not worth it. No fee for checking, completely honest appraisal without trying to make money. Even had a go at bending pins. Would absolutely go back if ever need repairs in future. Great guys.

Their technicians are extremely knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. The prices they charge are very, VERY reasonable considering the quality of their work. These guys know how to fix things few places are brave enough to even touch. They did a rangefinder adjustment on my GF670 that is now, thanks to them, finally bang on. Very worth the visit!

I’m noticing that the vast majority of these comments are positive, and I really wish I had something good to say, but I was very disappointed with the service I received here. My camera (a Nikon 7200 - nothing obscure or outdated) was dropped off in the middle of December, and we were told that it would take two weeks to look it over. Three weeks later, with no word at all from the technicians, I followed up and learned that they hadn’t gotten to it yet, and they would call me the next day. Well, they didn’t, and at that point I didn’t have time to follow up again and again as I was leaving the country. My boyfriend was finally able to get in touch with them over the phone and was told that they couldn’t replicate the problem, it seemed fine to them, but they would do a bit more testing. It was then another several weeks of trying to get in touch with them to figure out how we could have the camera picked up - as there didn’t seem to be a problem (I was out of the country and my boyfriend doesn’t live in NYC). We got the camera back eventually with a bill for $50. My boyfriend brought it was him when he went to meet me overseas and after less than three minutes of trying to use the camera again, the problem re-appeared. Yikes.

I had a Hasselblad 503 that I had fixed at another shop. I had to bring it back 3 times before I eventually gave up and brought it to Camera Doctor. They were able to repair the camera for less cost and the great part was that it actually was FIXED. I have but through about 50 rolls of film and it still works. Thank you.Update*I have been coming to the shop for over 2 years now. Nothing but exceptional service, transparency and care.

Would recommend.Dropped my camera and took it here to get it fixed. They have a $36 fee for telling you what the problem is and to give you a quote on parts & labor which I felt was affordable. Gives you the option to go elsewhere if you choose to do so. These guys aren’t that cheap, so don’t go into it expecting they’re going to undersell what they do. They know their worth. My camera now takes clearer and nicer photos than it did before I broke it. That’s what you’re paying for.

This is the place to go to when you got a problem with your cam. May it be the newest mirrorless system or an ancient large format analog camera from 1900 or so, these guys will most likely be able to help you.👍Also a super cool place to stop by if youre interested in all kinds of different camers. Quiet a lot to see in these cellars.😎I had some (more!^^) grease on the sensor of my Alpha 6000 (dont ask!😆) and the guys got it cleaned for me on the same day. In less than four hours I got a phone call and could get my cam back. Since than Ive taken many houndred pictures without any evidence of residues on the sensor. Vacation pictures safed thanks to Camera Doctor!👌Some really cool and very friendly dudes! Thank you again and cheers from the german grease thumb!🤘😂👋
