Had wood custom cut to order, took no time, bought a drill, bits, screws. Was outta there in 5 minutes. Dave was quick and friendly and super helpful, way better than any help you’ll get at Home Depot! This place is awesome!

This place is amazing! Great location, service, and high quality lumber. After searching for 3 lumber pieces for my bookshelves for a long time, finally ended up going here. Dave was very nice and professional, answered all my questions. I ordered in the store and left info for my contractor to pick up. Midtown lumber saves the day, with same-day plywood cut+delivery. I own two tables but one was much wider, so I had midtown send over 3/4 plywood, which I used to create one giant table. Sit down Chinese hotpot for 18 !Midtown lumber delivery is one of those great NYC resources.

I went to there to cut my wood board. It was very quick and affordable price($5)..also they provide excellent customer service. The guy was nice and friendly.I will definitely come back there.

One doesnt expect to find a lumber store on a residential block in Chelsea but it exists. The selection of material is fantastic and the help is exceptional. (Thumbs up to Dave). They also deliver.

I am about the start my first DIY project, and needed some custom cut wood. I was intimidated, since this is something new and unfamiliar. I’ve used them twice so far for small home projects: first time, had 1x4’s cut to size. Second time, had melamine sheets cut into odd shapes. Both times, they got them done quickly and well!

On the day that I called, they were able to answer my questions about wood, then directed me to make an order. I dont know much about wood, but they directed me. Communication was seeamless, and payment was contactless as well as pick-up. Once confirmed it was ready within a few days and they put it in my car. Great Communication, great feedback. I would definitely be recommending then and using them again. Thx my desk looks great.

Excellent customer service, helped me out while in a last minute jam. A go-to place if you need wood cut to specific measurements without having to go over a bridge into another borough. Helpful staff, in and our quick, cant beat it.

I got a basic 6 ft piece of wood from here and the measurements ended up being a little off. The Worker was extremely condescending but said he would cut the wood (never mentioned anything about charging me extra) and then charged me $7 extra to cut a small portion off of wood. I could’ve went to Home Depot for the basic piece of wood for $4 but I try to support small businesses during this time so I went here. Overall would not come here again.

Midtown Lumber is probably one of my favorite stores in all of NYC! They are the first guys I call whenever I need last minute bulk material for production gigs and its always a pleasure working with them. This is my new favorite place to do business in all of NYC! It was incredibly easy to order online - fast, efficient and the order was perfect AND I picked it up the same day! When I needed a few more pieces of wood I just walked in off the street and was treated like a valued customer, even though my order was really small. I am an artist and a woman, 2 things that can really prevent you from wanting to visit a lumberyard anywhere, much less in NYC, and my experience could not have been friendlier, helpful and more professional! I will be back many times and will tell all my friends!!

I go to school 2 blocks away from here and I just learned of this stores existence! The guys working there were so cool, friendly, and helpful. They were able to help me with exactly what I needed in no time and I was out of there in minutes. Really great place for custom sizing (and the only one in this area). So glad I found them.

Needed some custom cut wood, seems easy enough but most places in the city won’t even cut a pencil. These guys were great, cut the pieces I needed on the spot in a couple minutes and had me on my way.

Great shop! Super helpful staff with great recommendations on wood types to use for the project that I designed. I sent them a photo with measurements, and they made the awesome precision cuts, with quality wood. I completed by Coffee Tale/TV Credenza easily, and due to the great cuts, its all held together with just glue and wood dowel pins.

Were another local Manhattan company, and have worked with Midtown for two or three years-- hands down the best place in Manhattan for building material and cutting. Home Depot is cheap for a reason. Ive waited weeks for orders from Home Depot that Ive had delivered same day from these guys. Ive never had quality issues here-- cant say the same for Home Depot. Do yourself a favor--

One of the absolute most helpful and well mannered Lumber yards I’ve come across in construction. Always handy in a pinch at relatively affordable manhattan prices. They are professional and well spoken and I highly recommend them to anyone in passing. Used to come to midtown lumber every time I needed a board for paintings (about 4 times a year)Prices were great and staff was friendly.Was told owner is no longer there and noticed a change immediately.Board was %53 higher price than what I used to pay for at SAME location.Employee was rude on the phone and in person.He had no knowledge on sand paper available and didnt seem like he wanted to answer any of my questions.Absolutely unacceptable.

Fast and Friendly! Called ahead to make sure they could cut a large sample of hardwood flooring to a smaller size, Armando answered the phone and was extremely friendly. When I arrived at their location, Armando was just as friendly in person and quickly completed what I needed. I was in and out in 5 minutes tops!

Called placed an order for lumber was told that it would be ready first thing in the morning and I would be able to walk it out on an a frame but when I got there lumber was not cut and was told to come back in in 30 mins. Came back and then was told there was no a frame to walk it out on and had to come back in an indeterminate amount of time. Was not given a solution by the staff. Now have to come back later on a third trip to grab the wood. Perhaps the worst customer service in Manhattan.

I stopped in with a list of exactly what I needed. I handed it to the guy behind the counter was he rung it up. Prices were a bit high, around double what I would have paid at Home Depot. The reason I choose Midtown Lumber was because of the great reviews and I had heard Home Depot does a terrible job of cutting wood. Anyway I paid for my wood and came back in around half an hour to collect it. I specifically put Qty2 on the sheet I gave him but I was only given 1, the receipt only showed 1 as well and as it wasnt a huge deal to me I settled with have just 1. The cuts looked good but when I got home I notice they had made some of my pieces too large. I asked for 2 pieces cut to 20 7/8 and 2 cut to 21 1/8 which the receipt reflect. When I got home and was doing the preassembly I noticed they cut the wood to 21 7/8 instead of 21 1/8. I ended up having to go grab a miter box and cut the wood myself anyway, exactly what I was trying to avoid. Now that I have the miter box Ill just stick to Home Depot for wood in the future.
