I cannot express how happy I was with my dress. Angelo made my sisters wedding dress and I knew once I went to her first fitting with her, Angelo was going to make mine!When I got engaged, I went the next week to see Angelo. I never stepped foot or tried on any wedding dresses! Angelo was my first and last stop! We spent 2 hours talking about what kind of dress I wanted and Angelo gave me his input on what would look good on my body type and sketched my dress right then and there. I also wanted a dress with a hint of purple and Angelo made my dream dress come true! When I went to my first fitting, I was ecstatic !!!! The top was far from being done, it did not have the lace or beading or even the purple in it, but the way it fit was perfect! Angelo got it right from the start!If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind, unique, fits you like a glove dress, GO TO ANGELO! You wont regret it. He is wonderful to work with and he gives you his honest opinion. He can do absolutely everything and anything you want! He made my veil and also designed a hair piece that I wore after I took my veil off for the reception. The hair piece was last minute and he designed it within a day and had it all ready for me the next day. Amazing and such professional service that you will never get anywhere else.

Angelo Lambrou is a gem in the east village. What initially drew me to working with him was his magnificent store front displays. He truly takes a wedding dress to be the unique, graceful and stunning centerpiece of a brides big day. His dresses are all custom made and tailored, and the staff is magnificent at working with a wedding party to evoke the the aesthetic they are looking for. While the focus is on dresses, there are some nice wedding accessories as well. The staff is super friendly, and Angelo is creative and kind. I recommend Angelo to all my girlfriends looking to get married.

WOW is how I will begin this review ! This very talented artist., Angelo Lambrou, designed the most beautiful, flattering, airy, weightless gown for my mother of the groom gown. I looked stunning and received many, many compliments on this exquisite dress. His eye for detail, color, mixture of textures and colors, draped wrap details, intricate pleating and timeless elegance was like no other gown Ive ever owned or had made. The movement of this dress, the fluid and tailored lines of this gown when I walked was breathtaking. He is a perfectionist with every detail ! FIRST CLASS all the way !!He also made a beautiful cocktail/could wear everyday dressed up or down dress for the Rehearsal Dinner. Very flattering, great movement and the most wonderful feeling wool/silk from Italy I have ever owned.Again, stunning !All of my appointments with this gentle man were fun, exciting, and stress free. His staff were all delightful and his seamstress was a jewel with a needle and thread. He knows what works on every body type. He is honest and kind and his dresses are truly a WORK OF ART. Angelo Lambrou is New York City’s best-kept secret. When it came time for me to look for a wedding dress, I can honestly say I was terrified. I didn’t know what I wanted and I didn’t how or where to even start. After going to a few commercial bridal salons, and being pushed into dresses I made clear I wasn’t interested in, I was just about ready to give up. I was looking for a destination wedding dress, something light and flowy, and all the dresses I tried on were either too much or not enough. I was so overwhelmed with all the different options out there, I was starting to think I was crazy and was looking for something that didn’t exist. On top of my own fears, I felt the consultants at these salons weren’t even hearing what I was asking for and instead were trying to get me to spend as much money as possible – as quickly as possible. My dress search turned into everything I was afraid of, and I was starting to feel hopeless.I stumbled upon Angelo’s salon during a random yelp review search and decided to give him a call. From the second he picked up the phone, I felt a little bit more at ease. I met him the next day and instantly fell in love. Angelo read my fear from the second I walked through the door, looked me in the eye and told me “we will find the perfect dress for you, I promise. And if we don’t, I will make it.” He takes the time to learn about each bride individually and makes you feel like you truly are in good hands. Finding a wedding dress is one of the most important things to a bride and Angelo genuinely understands that. He goes above and beyond to make sure that everything runs smoothly, and during this hectic time in a bride’s life, her dress is the one thing she doesn’t have to worry about.My dress was everything I ever wanted and more. Angelo is so special and working with him to design my wedding dress was one of the most seamless, inspiring, and amazing experiences Ive ever had. I had so much fun every time I walked into his gorgeous showroom. Angelo really listened to my ideas and helped make my vision come to life. I trust him completely. I think most people dream of their wedding gowns when they are younger, and the experience of buying them, and planning a wedding overall. It seems romantic, exciting, and full of love.But when the time comes, I found that looking for a gown, a venue, and all of the things, started to feel like used car shopping. It was all about business, making a “deal” closing the sale, and I don’t believe that is what planning your wedding should be. Working in luxury I am accustomed to a level of customer service and heavy emphasis on the experience. I found these two notions seriously lacking in a lot of bridal salons I had gone to with my friends. I refused to follow in their footsteps. In an effort to avoid those places, I even went through Instagram and met a designer in an NYC hotel room, also not a good idea.Enter Angelo.The second I walked into his showroom in the Garment district, I knew this was not going to be the Long Island accent, dirty carpet, smelly showroom packed with sales ladies thing. It was calm, romantic, and Angelo himself was full of love and happiness. I spotted a sample on the rack that I knew was the one. So we began on making the dress! Angelo worked with me to place the lace in the perfect areas, to adjust the bodice to fit my flat upper half so that the gown was comfortable and still unbelievably stunning. Being extremely particular I can be difficult to work with at times, but Angelo always listened, understood and executed flawlessly. The final product was my dream dress and the experience itself was amazing- to be such a part of the dress that I wore on my big day was priceless. I can’t say enough great things about Angelo Lambrou, his work is outstanding and impeccable, and because of him the experience of finding my wedding dress was everything I had ever hoped for.

I wasn’t the girl who dreamt about her wedding with every detail already set in stone, prior to actually getting engaged, so I was lost in the confusion of dress shopping. My MOH took me straight to Angelo’s boutique and the minute I walked in, I was greeted by his warmth and after taking a quick glance around, I knew the one would soon be found. After trying on some gorgeous dresses, I surprised myself with a style I hadnt planned on, quickly making it my own with a unique addition that he so artfully crafted. Each fitting was more exciting than the last and I couldnt wait to dance the night away, eat to my hearts content and wow my soon to be husband. The entire process working with Angelo made me feel like royalty, and I will forever be thankful for the beautiful gown he created for me.

Having Angelo create my wedding dress was a dream come true. I have loved his dresses since I first saw them in his old storefront on 7th street. My one-of-a-kind wedding dress was everything I ever wanted and working on it with Angelo was such a pleasure. He is kind, reassuring, lovely, sweet, and an incredible designer and artist. I cant recommend him highly enough.

I found Angelo through a friends recommendation and I cannot recommend him enough! He made The Dress the least stressful part of my wedding planning process. I got married in Sept 2013 so Angelo was still in his charming East Village atelier. I felt like I was in a friends home there, and he made the entire dress shopping (and fitting) process relaxed and enjoyable.Angelo is a brilliant designer and can customize any dress to your vision. He knows exactly how to flatter your figure - he took one look at me and pointed out the dress that I eventually chose. This was the 10th boutique i visited and quite possibly the 100th dress i tried on. The moment I tried on his Aurora dress, I just knew. Finally, I didnt feel like I was in a contrived bride costume. I felt like myself in Angelos dress, but amplified. All of his dresses are made of high-quality silks that feel incredible against your skin and move beautifully with you.Angelo provides the couture experience at a reasonable price, and is a dream to work with. I ended losing some weight before my first fitting, but didnt realize how much so i didnt think to give Angelo a heads-up. Since the dress was custom-made to my measurements, he eventually had to bring my dress in roughly 2 sizes, which was a lot of detailed work. I felt terrible, but he said it was no problem and did an amazing job. My wedding was a year and a half ago, and I am still getting compliments on my dress!After my final fitting, we sat on the steps outside for about an hour, and had a glass of champagne just talking about life. I walked out of Angelos with the perfect dress and a new friend.

Soon after I got engaged, I found myself spending hours looking through bridal magazines and after passing hundreds of pages with gowns, growing more and more frustrated. Every gown would scream mass-produced made in China at Fifth Ave prices. And after several trips to bridal stores, I was growing absolutely hopeless!It just so happened that I was passing Angelos studio (back then on E7 St) on my way to Pilates twice a week and one day I made an appointment, thinking that I had nothing to loose.Talk about nothing to loose and everything to gain! What I loved most about my first appointment was Angelos full attention, recommendation, and zero pressure! Oh, and did I mention champagne? :) I tried a few gowns, we talked about a possibility of creating a custom dress with a hint of color, and by the end of my first appointment, I had a sketch of my future dress. I wanted something that was timeless, elegant, glamorous (the reception was at the Carlyle in NYC), but also a dress that I could wear again, which means it had to fit the wedding day, but also not to scream bridal! The idea seemed almost impossible, but the final result was a gorgeous gold with silver dress, accentuated by Swarovski crystals, with Angelos signature drapes in the lightest shade of grey - a stunning creation that somehow also managed to combine everything I ever envisioned!We had several fittings and went through several changes, all based on how the vision of the dress was coming to life. Angelo and his staff were completely accommodating and on the day of the final fitting, we even went through my whole wedding day look, down to hair and earrings! Throughout the process, my friend took pictures and a video of the final fitting, and now I have an album entitled The making of the dress!I was absolutely thrilled with the final result and the compliments on my wedding day ranged from OMG! This dress is amazing, Ive never seen anything like it! (one of the society regulars) to a friends Wow, this is ... you!! The dress, the earrings, everything is so you!!The best part was, of course, seeing my husbands face at the first look, and as he later described in his toast, he thought I looked mind-blowing gorgeous! It was a happy day, indeed, and a huge part of it was Angelos fantastic creation!
