This place was so good! My Indian roommate took me here because of the Indian-Chinese fusion dishes. Didn’t know what I was missing out on before. Super delicious and if I lived close by I would go once a week. So good and nice staff! Also had the chef send out some little samples for appetizer and dessert - so sweet and awesome!
We came here for the renown Chinese Indian food. Im allergic to cilantro, so, yeah, why do I keep going to Indian restaurants… good question.Food was fine, but not my cup of tea. What was rather annoying was the shouts from a group of 10 or so people, supposedly having a reunion. We couldnt hear each other while dining. It was like being in a pub rather than a restaurant. 🙄🙄🙄
Growing up in India and having Chinese food used to be an occasional treat that we all looked forward to. There is a certain flavor and texture to how it’s cooked. Spice Symphony has created the exact replica of that culinary experience. I’m absolutely addicted to the chicken corn soup and shrimp fried rice and shrimp with garlic sause. The owner, Jude is an incredible gentleman who takes lovely care of all his guests.I feel so fortunate that we have this wonderful little restaurant in Little India 🇮🇳 that brings back these amazing childhood memories for me!!! Thank you 🙏 guys.
My husband and I were able to get a table here on a Monday afternoon (July 4th observed day) without much fuss. They accept reservations but I called ahead and they said I can just walk in. When we got there, there were only 2 other sets of diners but within the hour, the place was packed. It must be a popular spot. The service was wonderful and we felt welcomed as the servers were very kind and attentive. The food was a little disappointing, however. My husband quite enjoyed his lamb rogan josh but my goat bhuna was just all bones and tendon. There were about 5 pieces of goat in the dish they served and only 1 piece was actually meat! I’ve cooked goat curry numerous times before so I know chevon is a bony flesh, but there are meaty parts that should be included in a dish like this. The flavor was good, however, but the meal was unsatisfying. I took a bit of my husband’s lamb to finish the garlic naan. The garlic naan was uncharacteristically thinner and less chewy than some we’ve had before and we really loved that! We also had kulfi malai (frozen treat), rasmalai, and madras coffee for dessert. The coffee is super strong and any coffee addict would love it, too bad they don’t do take out with the coffee. I would return again if in the area but stay clear of the goat bhuna.
Amazing and consistently good Indian-Chinese food. Even if you get it delivered, the food is brought hot and fresh. Absolutely love the chilli chicken dry, the vegetable manchurian sauce is phenomenal, the Hakka noodles are a bit greasy but delicious.PRO TIP: They are slightly more expensive than other Indian restaurants in Manhattan so if you’re ordering for big parties, try their “family meal” combos.
What a phenomenal dinner!! So hot and fresh, and I had it delivered!!! So amazing! Whether you dine in our take out, this restaurant is a winner. The Szechuan shrimp dish is fantastic, and the samosas are a must! Jud really knows how to take care of guest and leave them feeling satisfied. 10/10 recommend!
One of the best places for Indian Chinese in the city. Slightly pricy but the portion sizes and deliciousness makes it worth it. Love their Kadi Pakoda too!!
Great Food and ServiceWe were there for Dinner order Paneer masala, Mutton curry, Roti,Naan and appetizers, all were good .I with Mutton was in the same category, that need to flavor full
I ate outside. The table was barely in the shade and the delivery guy kept locking and unlocking his bike within 6” of me.The food was good. Standard Indian fare. The service was competent. The outdoor dining was just... unpleasant.
Overall a nice experience!Food wise - Indo Chinese is great! Tried their butter chicken, which was sweet! Not recommended.
Got the lunch meal, nice amount of food for an affordable price. Lunch comes with an appetizer, lunch entree and a small dessert. Place was clean and the service was quick. The highlight was complimentary naan! Nothing extraordinary.
Great place for authentic Indian food! One of my favorites.
This place is seriously delicious. ImVery critical of restaurants. The chicken lolipops and the chicken curry are hands down the best that I’ve ever had. I would recommend eating here. 10/10 I cant wait to try the other items on their menu.
Very tasty, flavourful. Great service too -- would highly reccomend!!
Great food and service....spicy food after long ...loved it
We reached there at 9pm last Sunday. We ordered chicken lollipop and for some reason it has strange orange color, no flavor, super oily and disgusting. We had ordered Chinese bhel, panner chilly and manchurian. Everything was served in mini appetizers plate and could barely serve two. Panner in panner chilly was rubbery and chewy. Manchurian had a hair stuck in it. Triple schezwan fried rice was served plain rice tossed in schezwan sauce and was without any gravy. Apparently, triple tice means, rice, vegetables and schezwan sauce in was tossed it. So god wonders what food they are serving but it was disgusting and disappointing.
Excellent Customer service, excellent and authentic food, come in off hours and I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
I ordered a delivery of the Vegetable Manchurian, Chilli Paneer, Chicken Lollipop, Chill Chicken, Rice and Hakka noodles. It is by far, the best Indian Chinese food in New York, heck in New Jersey too. Amazing food, delivered from the east side to me in Hells kitchen with wonderful flavor. 100% recommend
Great food and lovely staff. Highly recommended.
The food and service was amazing! The drinks were also divine. Highly recommend this place for a fun night out. Thank you to the staff for going above and beyond!
We went to this place in search of indo- Chinese food.. The food was great and veg Manchurian balls were very soft.. The chef provided us with complimentary veg cutlet.. Recommended for indo chinese.. Other Indian food like Naan, roti, sabzi is also served but we didnt have that.. The staff was very courteous.
Spice symphony was a random gem I found looking for dinner with my Indian family in the city. The food is authentic and delicious. Jude and the staff of this restaurant make it an incredible experience to dine here. 5 stars.
Spice symphony is one of the best Indian food in Manhattan!! Their indo-Chinese food is the most delicious food you can have in NYC! The food is fresh, affordable and really really good!! Highly recommend!
Wow... what an amazing place to eat at. I enjoyed it so much that I came here twice in two weeks. Once was a graduation party, second was a date and I enjoyed it both times greatly. First off, when entering youre greeted by two kind gentlemen, they seat you and give you water together with a small sample taste aloo tikka (which is really tasty). They take your order and food is brought out promptly. So many vegetarian options which I love. My personal favorites are the corn soup, vege spring rolls and Vegetable Manchurians. The waiter/host is always attentive and making sure youre enjoying yourself and the food. The quality is great, the food tastes fresh and lots of seasoning and flavors. By far my newest favorite Indian-Chinese cuisine restaurant. While the place is a bit small, its cozy and is a nice atmosphere. Would always come back here as a recurring customer and the prices arent bad at all considering what youre getting. Please never change ! Stay amazing !
My favorite Indian food in the city! Consistently amazing, always hot and fresh, and they always make it extra spicy when asked:) their chicken tikka might be the best I’ve ever had!
Excellent food satiated our need for indo Chinese cuisine. The service was great!
We had such a fantastic experience here!!! From the time we entered the door until the time we left we felt welcomed and valued. The staff is warm and on top of your needs. Ninad took care of us suberbly and recommended some excellent dishes! You have to try the Achari Mushrooms...curry spice with a wonderful smokey flavor from the tandoor oven. For main dishes we had the Shrimp Moiley, Chikken Tikka, Lamb Rogan Josh and the Baghare Baingan. ALL WE SO DELICIOUS!!! We stuffed ourselves but still had dessert, shared the Rasmalai and the Gulab Jamun...cleaned our plates up here too!! We didnt want to leave and will we definitely be back soon. Thank you so much Ninand for your exceptional service.
Amazing food and amazing service. We ordered veg manchurian and fried rice with lamb manchurian. It was great and can’t wait to go back. Thank you brother Roland.
After reading the reviews I was super excited to taste some good indo Chinese food but I should have paid attention to the reviews which said otherwise. I ordered takeout and it was super expensive and the food wasnt worth the amount I spent. I seriously didnt understand the good reviews!!!!We ordered:Chicken lollipop - very good. It was still warm and crispy so that was a good start. Pumped me up.Chicken malai kebab- nah. The Bengal tiger malai kebab is much better. This was big and dry and it costs $18!!!!!!!Chicken Hakka noodles- nope. No taste at all. Completely bland. And its super expensive for what!!!Try Bengal tiger instead, cheaper and must more tasty food.
MUST TRY!! Amazing experience from beginning to end! We felt truly cared for and the food was excellent. There are so many choices and everything tasted delicious. The staff is wonderful. They make accommodations and are so awesome. We left feeling so positive with our experience. Can’t wait to come back when I’m in NYC!
Enjoyed our food here. Definitely going again! Decent choice for indochinese ( if you know you know) food
It was definitely a place I was looking forward to going for a very long time. While trying to satisfy my craving for Indo Chinese food I bumped across this one and it was definitely the best choice. We did not have reservations so had to wait but the staff was courteous enough to seat us on the bar where we had the starters. We started with a manchow soup which was very average. We ordered the chicken lollipop, paneer chilly dry and butterfly shrimp. The chicken lollipop was good with a dip of mayonnaise, different from the typical schezwan dip given in India but nevertheless it didnt disappoint. The paneer chilly was up to the mark n very indianised. The butterfly shrimps were just 3 pieces n dry, disappointing. The main course consisted of chicken chilly with gravy and chicken fried rice both of which hit the spot and were spicy to the right extent. We ordered a Malai kulfi for dessert and they served us gulab jamun on the house. The gulab jamun was the best part of the evening, perfect.Overall it was a delectable experience at this small restaurant with a quick service and courteous staff. We would definitely come back.
This place is a solid Indian restaurant in the aptly called Curry Hill. Good, authentic food options. I ordered the Panner Aur Aloo ke Kofte with Garlic Naan, and a Chinese Bhel starter. The food was quite good; my only complaint is that the ambience and service dont warrant the slightly overpriced menu. Would recommend!
Loved this place food was excellent and the host named Jude is really sweet !
Order a table online and came in and the place was full.
Fast friendly service. Less than 5 minutes for started coming out. Ordered chicken Tikka masala, pahrata, saag panir, papdum, gobi Manchurian and a couple of mango laasi, tempura spinach (theres an Indian name, but I forget) and chicken wings. The gobi is a little spicy. Pahrata is buttery delicious. The rest of food was will prepared.
Excellent food and service! Chicken ska salaam was bomb! So tender and juicy. My girlfriend had vegetable salaam and yes! Vegetarians should go nuts for this place. Our server Balder was very attentive and so are the rest of the staffs. My glass of water was never empty. Great food, atmosphere, and staffs. Definitely will be back again!
All Great excepting lollypop chicken... overcooked!? Whatever... assigning 5 stars as its better that other Indo-Chinese restaurants in NYC!!
Wasnt so tasty as it seemedCame here twiceWont come backFoods too dry
I have been coming here for over three years. I come about once a month. Yet one server consistently remembers me, my favorite dishes and my preferences. He did this after my second month!! Needless to say service is A+. The food is top notch. Try the Chinese Bhel and Mushroom Achari. I have been ordering it for three years. It is amazing as is the restaurant!
Unprofessional!! - we reserved a table online for family of 4 after checking the restaurant hours. When we reached there the restaurant was locked and owner was nowhere to be seen. We waited for a few minutes and had no other choice but to scout for other dining options.
This is perhaps the very best food weve ever had! Exceptional flavors, perfectly spiced. We had a cauliflower appetizer, chicken appetizer, spicy chicken dish, and lamb. Our vegetarian son had something (cant recall what) that he also raved about. Service was attentive but not disruptive. Wish we had something like this in Southern California
The host remembers my likes and dislikes.Always cordially greets me. Has my libation ready. The food is consistently well prepared and plentiful. One nit: it seems to take a very long time to get and pay the check. I mean a disturbingly long time. I guess theres no such thing as eat and run.
Friendly staff.Good service.Best set lunches on many continents. We were very positively surprised. The food was well spiced and delicious.
The best indo-chinese food in NYC. I love the manchurian, noodles and friend rice here. The rest of the menu, which is usual North Indian fare, is just average. There are some items which try to incorporate Southern flavors, but thats not what you should order here. Ignoring all these other menu items, this is a 5 star place for Indo-chinese food. But when averaged with the rest of the menu, its a 4.
This restaurant has superb service and tasty food. My favourite restaurant in the area. The food arrived rapidly and the prices were fair. Recommended.
Pretty good food. Was pleased with quantities and the flavours. Staff was decent though for the last day of the year I expected some more energy. Also wasnt happy with the tip being included without my consent, could have added it myself. Otherwise this could have got another star.
I consider it a very acceptable restaurant, its food is very tasty and has a good quality. Its a New York restaurant considering its not too expensive. It has a good value for money. The staff is courteous, attentive, helpful and quick. Total friendliness, all the time the waiter was recommending special dishes depending on the day he proposed combinations. Very good price The place is very well decorated and offers an incredible atmosphere. It is very important to have such a nice place in an expensive NY area at an excellent price. The materials they use for cooking are exquisite and fresh. They almost always have good promotions and discounts on food. Each dish in itself is a culinary journey. Total recommendation for this restaurant.
I had the best, creamiest Lamb Korma that Ive ever had in my life. I also tried something called Green Coconut Chicken, which came a vivid green color, and was equally as delicious with a subtle sweet note; Im glad I tried something new.
Could not recommend this place enough! Just finished a late dinner here and was more than impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. The chai is also amazing! The best thing about our experience, however, was the service! The entire team jumped in to take care of us and they were so warm and friendly. A nice change of pace for NYC!
Reasonably priced Indian food, which tends to be pricey. Good staff. A bit cramped for space; but the tables are laid well. The all you can buffet is reasonably priced. In middle of midtown, so location is very convenient. Didnt order drinks.
Delicious food, great service. Definitely the best Indian food in town!
I was very pleased with our meal here. All of the staff were super friendly. I also liked the ambiance they had in the restaurant and the look in general. We called ahead to make a reservation, and were seated right when we arrived. All of the food tasted great, I especially liked the naan bread and the mango ice cream dessert. The only thing that was annoying was we seemed to wait a very long time for them to bring out the bill. Once they brought it out, there was an extra charge, so that took a long time too.
Best Indian styled Chinese food like you find on Indian street. It is real spicy in a Indian sense. Starting from soup to desserts everything is delicious.Apart from food, staff is really helpful and friendly. Place is bit small, but warm.
Love this place! They are generous with the spices. The food was so fragrant and tasty. I ordered to go and was very happy with what I got. Will order again soon.
I really liked their food. I always get excellent service here. The place is always clean and the workers are always welcoming. Will visit here again.
Superb cuisine. Exelent service and a lovely ambiance. This place is a lovely little piece of India in the heat of Manhattan. The food ordered on on the table within minutes, it is made exactly to what was intended and is pleasantly delightful to one’s palate.I recommend this place for any type of occasion.
Fantastic quality indian food and a great lunch special - I go there quite often for lunch and it is always superb. Best in the area for sure!
Takeout lunch review. A coworker really liked this restaurant so I decided to check it out with him. We walked in a little after 12 and there were a pile of meal pal orders waiting to be picked up as I was told its a popular meal pal option. The interior is nice and they have a bar in the front and happy hour specials. We ordered to-go from the lunch menu and I got the Manchurian lamb since coworker liked the Manchurian dish the best. According to my coworker its supposed to be quick, but the three of us waited a good 15 or 20min for our food. So I would recommend ordering ahead for pick up.I havent had too much exposure to Indo Chinese cuisine but I think my lunch set was fun to try but tasted okay. I did like how the sauce went well with the rice. I did end up finishing the whole plate.I would be interested in dining in next time and trying other menu items.
This place will surprise you. This is not only a good restaurant, but also an experience. We are from Nashville and come here every time we come to New York. The food is great and the service is at the top level. Every dish we have eaten is delicious. Our waiter, Rainan, is great. His service is very human and makes us feel like a family. When we left, all the managers and employees were saying goodbye! This price is also very good in New York! We will be repeating customers. In fact, I want to go back tomorrow night! You must try this one!
Finest spot to eat food when in a rush. The service is rapid, prices are fair, awesome mood. Will visit here again
The food is great and lunch specials are reasonable. Their full a la carte menu, however, is pricey and nothing extraordinary really justifies it.Good service would return for lunch.
The place serves big portions and for reasonable rates. welcoming employees. Keep it up.
This restaurant has fresh, delicious food and the appearance of the dishes will have your mouth watering at the sight of it. All the food is reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The place is clean and has a great atmosphere, all the waiters and waitresses are friendly and cater to you as much as they can. Visiting this place will be worth your time.
Samosas were delicate and flavorful, off-menu chicken curry was spot on. This is a mix of first-rate ingredients, flawless preparation and attractive presentation. Santosh was a fine host. The entrees arent overpriced by NY standards, but the bill adds up quickly; $4 for papadam, $6 for spring rolls, $9 for samosas. Its absolutely worth a visit for a special lunch or dinner.
Ended my craving for Indo Chinese here. Really nice taste. The staff also helped me in guiding me to my desired tourist spot. must try
WOW! Lamb shank, lamb shank, lamb shank. From the moment I arrived to Spice Symphony I was impressed about how quickly I was greeted, with a smile, from the hostess. She sat us at a booth and within seconds there was a server there to pour us water and present menus. So many amazing items on the menu. Trust me when I say, get the lamb shank. The most tender Ive ever had. The ambiance of this place is very warm, inviting and extremely comfortable. I will definitely be back
Good food. Good curry, very flavorful. Get the chicken - the lamb needs to be softer.
I always stop by buying some food here. I enjoyed the swift service and well prepared food. I recommend this place.
Get all sorts of people here from old people to professionals working nearby.I am not a fan of the incense, as it makes my eyes feel dry and slightly irritated. The staff were nice enough to let me sit and wait for my friend. No rush or anything. Note I came after 1pm which is past lunch peak.
Good service, clean. Delicious tasty food, they are not shy about using spice flavor full range. The place need light, it was very hard to read the menu
They have some really great Indochinese taste.. Mumbai taste per my wife.. service was great as well..
Fantastic food great staff really reccomend this
This place is the best for food! Ive eaten the best tandoori here in the entire USA. The staff were so good. Amazing hospitality and made me realize again that Indian food is the best food!! Ill go here again and agaon
Off the charts good. Better than most places in India.
The smell brought us in. Incredible food and service.
3 course meals for under $10 in their weekday lunch specials. Absolute steal. Have mostly tried indo Chinese here. The food is good and they dont hesitate to experiment. The service has been really good too.
Great Chicken Tikka Masala! Really polite waiting staff as well.
Authentic Indian restaurant in the middle of Manhattan. Fun fact there are two spice symphony in Manhattan, one is at Lexington avenue and another at E50th street. I have visited both and find both to be impressive. The one at the Lexington Avenue is small I would advice pre-booking on weekends. I have been there 4 times myself and would not think twice to go again.
Not a memorable dining experience. we eat out regularly with our teen aged children (two with food allergies) and we know all the questions to ask to navigate a menu. our waiter wasnt interested in helping us or giving recommendations on what to eat or avoid. from the water without ice, to the protein deficient main courses (heavy on starch and spice) was a forgettable experience. final really annoying fact was that tip was included on the statement (20%) but a place to write in another tip was provided for those who didnt fine read the bill. will not be back
Love this place! They are generous with the spices. The food was so fragrant and tasty. I ordered to go and was very happy with what I got. Will order again soon.
Best Indian food Ive had in a while. Service was great.
We went here for take out. The person who talked to us was very responsive. Place looks clean and new.I ordered indo Chinese vegetarian food plate. To begin with the food was salty and the portions are quite small. For $13 in a place thats rated $$ you expect a decent sized portion.
Fair pricing and high quality service & food
Fast service. Lunch menu was nice. Also loved the Chinese bhel. I recommend the indo Chinese here!
Excellent food and great service!Avocado chicken kabab and peshawari naan were awesome.
This was my first time eating Indian food, but I did have a great experience and first impression, overall. The spices that they use on most of their food is amazing and I would definitely come back for more!
