Sorry. The leather goods and clothing are first rate, IMO. And the style is certainly different than anything in the US or from Europe. But I wont be going back to this store. Id give one star. The second one is cutting them slack for the merchandise - Iike it a lotI walked in wearing a pair of RMW pants and an RMW jacket I purchased here a little over a year ago. I liked the pants so much, I decided to stop in for another couple colors. I was literally the only person in the store. Beyond the sales womans initial hello, I heard no other sound for the rest of my time. There was the woman on the floor, and two other sales people and/or managers in the back corner.I was rummaging around looking for my size and looking at what else the store had to offer. Not once did I hear, Can I help you find your size? Let me know if you need help Let me know if you want to try something on. Nothing. Zero.3 employees uttered on terse word among them. And clearly I was trying to find a size. Which is another thing that irritated me - most of the pants are folded so the size tags are inside where you cant see them. Genius.It was so off-putting . . . I just wouldnt go back. Ever. I WAS WEARING THEIR GARMENTS AND LOOKING FOR SIZES YET NONE OF THE THREE WORKERS EVEN BOTHERED TO CHECK ON ME. Great style at RMW. Lousy retail branding and work ethic

The shoes are good. As for why I gave two stars, it was because I bought the shoes in the store on November 27th. the shoes have no my size, the store gave me an online order, saying that shoes will arrive in a week for pick up. But I waited for 20 days already!!!They told me on the first day that shoes will arrive next week. The first day of the second week told me to wait for the weekend to arrive, but I waited until the third week and still did not arrive. The reason why I am angry is that if you are not sure about the arrival time of the shoes, you should not promise

Quality is there, but the stores dont pick up the phone, show busy signal or say the call cant be completed....all I want to know is if some things are in stock.

Customer first all the way. Carolyn has made the experience (along with all in the store) a top notch premium engagement. The staff here helps you get the right boot for your need and is supper helpful--I live outside NYC, but travel there frequently--I have minimum time to get to the store, but its worth the trip in person rather than online buying--they take the time to decipher the US to UK/AUS sizing and get you in the right boot for your style. Very happy with my experience here. They get it--they made me feel like valued customer rather than another pair of shoes sold. Ill buy here again.

Had a really fun time trying on the different styles today. The staff was really helpful and knowledgeable. They obviously have a lot of passion for the brand. I probably tried on 8-10 pairs before choosing but Clay was glad to help me find the perfect pair. The boots are pricey but they are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes Ive owned.They are also built to last so it is worth the investment if you can manage. Would highly recommend this brand and location!

I ordered a pair of bespoke R M Williams boots over the phone from the NYC store. The store reps were helpful, professional, and courteous. The boots arrived within the estimated time (lengthy as expected for custom made but the estimate was accurate). The fit is perfect. The quality is just outstanding. I have been in R M Williams stores in Australia, but not (yet) in the NYC store. The online photo is a ringer for the Aussie stores. Very nice. The whole transaction was was by phone and FedEx, and it was as smooth as silk. I live a long way from NYC but love to visit. Will pop into the store in next trip.

Love RM Williams. I came in here here today knowing exactly which boots I wanted and what size. After 3 minutes there and some staff lady told me that I knew nothing about shoes, I left and went to buy those same shoes two blocks down at Bloomingdale.Smh.

Awesome Chelsea boots. All their products are handcrafted and it shows. Carolyn took great care of me, no rush and no pressure to buy, but you’ll want to once you try them on.

Contacted the New York Store twice about boots dropped off (Oct 2019) to get resoled... it’s Jan 06 and still no respond or even a phone call after an employee said I’d be contacted within 24 hours - that was mid-Dec.Reached out to the official RM Williams on Instagram, they continue to put up new posts but cannot reply to a simple DM.I’m so disappointed in your customer service, having been a customer for 7+ years now, I love my RM Williams, but I probably will not buy another pair after this... I’ll be looking for a brand that supports their customers and takes accountability.

The sales associate was very attentive without being pushy, and super knowledgeable about the product too. The shoes themselves are gorgeous and of super high quality! Definitely worth investing in a pair of these boots. Overall, everyone at the boutique seemed friendly. Great experience, highly recommend!!

Tldr: Highest quality boots and best retail team in NYC, buy your boots from these guys. They’ll be the best boots you’ll ever wear.This was the best retail and bespoke experience I’ve had in my life. The personnel at the store were able to advise me on the characteristics of each boot and help me pick the right pair of boots for me.When my boots arrived they really made an effort to ensure that I was happy with my purchase. I was happy and excited eventually to buy a second pair of boots from them.When there was an issue with the repair on an old pair of boots, they corrected what could have been an unfortunate situation extremely well. Their excellent handling of a curve ball like this is just another example of what set the brand and the crew at RM Williams apart from other places.

I have bought two pairs of boots from them in the past years and have been thrilled with the service and quality. I just had my first pair restored by them and I am absolutely thrilled at the job they did. Very well run shop!

Waited two months for my order in NY. It was shipped to the wrong store in LA and sat in their storage room. When it finally arrived it was not what I had ordered. Fairly sloppy customer service. Not what I would expect from RM in years past. The brand has gone downhill for sure. So many others to choose from To Boot, Cheaney, Churches etc!

Joey did a fantastic job during my fitting and it was a fantastic introduction to the brand. He was clear and helpful as we explored the boot style, colour and fit options within the store.

They seem to be selective about what online store returns they will take (only if they stock the item). This was not mentioned on their site. Service was good otherwise.

I cannot say enough good about this store; when people lament about how retail shopping was in some distant old days when it was a pleasure, they are thinking about my experience with this store. To begin with, RM Williams boots have a reputation for exceedingly good quality, which seems to have been borne out in the several months I have owned a pair -- better than the Blundstones I wore for years. It is, however, this store that has really bowled me over.Carolyn Zentgraf Head, a manager there, went out of her way to help me fit a pair of boots when I was in last year. The important thing to know about these boots is that they are versatile, and can be worn for everything from jeans to a suit. With that in mind, I think I wore them five times a week for six months and two or three after that. That much wear wore through the inner heel pad and when I contacted the store about it, Carolyn went out of her way to make it easy for me to get the boots back to the store for a repair.These boots are, as I say, versatile and, once broken in, comfortable, even after a hard day walking inside or out. Theyre expensive but worth it, I think, and I am planning to buy a second pair to alternate.If you know your (Australian) size, you can order these online, but frankly, even though I live fairly far from New York, I would only buy mine from the New York store.

What a shame. I was serious about taking advantage of the 30% off sale for four full priced boots. I came in asking simple questions about the history of the company and types of leathers etc. I was so excited and curious. HOWEVER, I received the most miserable, monotone, short spoken sales associate named Yvette. Maybe I didn’t LOOK the type to have “money”, but I guess I wasn’t seen as a serious customer. Depressing and what a turn off. Don’t worry, R.M.W, I will certainly buy online, but not any time soon, as this experience has been a complete let down. Your wonderful boots will match my $1,800.00 rain jacket I wore into your store. Opportunity for a big sale was missed.

Products and services (including their cobbler/boot repair service) are superb.

My pair of R.M.Williams leather “Chinchilla” boots needed to be resoled after only 7 months. R.M.Williams will charge you $165 to resole them(that’s $24/month). An excellent cobbler will do the same thing for ~$60.What’s more, the salesperson who originally sold me the boots HEAVILY insinuated that resoling was included for free.So the issues I see are:- That R.M.Williams’ leather soles wear out quickly (7 months in my case, while my other leather soles generally last twice as long given similar wear).- That this is to their advantage because they offer a repair service that they overcharge for (~$100 more than a cobbler for new leather soles) and market this service(and longevity of their shoes in general) as a major selling point of their products.- And that their branding and certainly the in-person sales pitch is misleading in that the cost of repairs is never clearly stated.To be clear, I like the boots. I like products that are built to last and I admire companies that stand behind those products with strong warranties (particularly when they charge a significant premium for those products). I bought these boots because I thought R.M.Williams was one of those brands.They’re not.
