Love this bookshop/crystal shop/oracle card/tarot card shop/incense shop!!! The energy is so wonderful in there! The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. (They will chat you up!!) But, very good info and not sales-y. They just want you to know what the crystal/item you inquired about is all about. If you say you dont need help, are just looking, they will leave you alone. :-)They also provide astrology and divination readings as well as classes/workshops.There are now 2 Namaste shops on this block. The original one is the one with the large Buddha out front. This is the one I love the most! It has an old-world feel and the coziness of the shop lends to its charm.The second Namaste, a bit further down the street, is newer, brighter and bigger with larger crystals to choose from, more jewelry, more worldwide statues from a range of cultures, and a lot of interesting candles, spiritual colognes, soaps, incenses, tabletop waterfalls, etc.So, whatever your New Age-y, spiritual needs, one of these stores will have what youre looking for.Love this place and have been going here for years.

A man asked me if i needed help- i was looking for a crystal for a friends gift but was unsure. he basically yelled at me to use my intuition in a very elitist way, how he couldn’t help me??? like thanks bro???? not to mention this was the second time he came up to me i said i was good like 5 minutes prior to this!!!their selection is really nice but energy is rly important to me and this place did *not* pass the vibe check. if you’re a tourist go ahead, but if you have time to travel i’d suggest getting your tools elsewhere. i only popped in because catland & enchantments were closed. i won’t be going back

Samantha the clerk was super helpful and knowledgeable. She directed me and informed about what I was looking for let alone told me a few things about myself. Great experience and will be back !

I don’t know much about crystals before I came to visit here. I was able to explore the whole bookshop without any employees being impatient with me, I truly appreciate that. The staff is very friendly and informative! I will be coming here more often since I heard they do memberships and you rack up points from purchases!

Five stars completely! It was my first metaphysical shop experience with my friends and it was amazing . They were very welcoming, helpful and kept checking in to see how you were doing. Overall the experience was very nice, calming and the prices are quite cheap . Yes yes yes a thousand times yes I loved this place the vibe it gave off once I entered the store was amazing the staff was super friendly I dont get to go to stores like this often but it was 100 percent worth the train ride from the Bronx 10/10 will be coming back here again

I really dont like to leave negative reviews but Im afraid it in this case, 2 stars are necessary. While Im sure this is a lovely bookshop in person, their online quality procedures are seriously lacking in customer service and follow-up. I placed an order on July 6th and 2 weeks later I checked online it was still pending. After emailing the business to inquire as to the status my order shipment and receiving NO reply to my email, my order was altered deleting an item. Its now 2-1/2 weeks later and it appears that my amended order is now shipping.Answering customer inquiries should be a priority for any business. Hopefully they can do better in the future. Namaste

The number one place to buy affordable crystals in NYC. They have the best selection of spiritual books Ive seen. They do tarot readings in the back. If you are a new comer to the shop and are looking for anything in particular, the staff will gladly guide you along. They have things from self help/exploration to connecting with past ancestors to learning non-traditional medicine. There is a brand new location in uptown so if this spot isnt your cup of tea maybe the other one is!

Since they packed all kinds of spiritual goodies, it’s so convenient when you don’t know what your friends want... just go in and ask guides!(of the store and friend’s!)

Its a neat, cozy shop full of marked up products that, I promise, are cheaper online or in India/Asia. Regardless, the store has lots of insense to pick from, along with posters, books, stones, and card readings and you can find a quick gift for someone here easily. Staff can be helpful, but the manager wasnt there when we visited so we were unable to buy a product with no price tag.

This place was amazing ! The people are really nice, really helpful. I was buying moldavite and I was going to choose one that didnt call to me and the lady said this is the one youll be working with, I can see that this isnt the one you are drawn too, so I put it back and picked the one that called to me. It has been a great experience at the namaste book shop! I recommend anyone go here

Went and was followed around the store by a man. a lady came up to me as i was checking out the candles and i i asked if any of them were palm oil free. she told me to go to Sears and looked so angry at me. they wanted me out of the store for no reason. terrible customer service. this was a few years ago but it really hurt because i just wanted to support a local company. not very spiritual. Ive worked in a crystal shop before and theres so much better ways to go about theft prevention, which is what i assume they were targeting me for.. they need to do better.

My friend and I love this place. It was our first time going there. The employees were really welcoming, very knowledgeable, and kind. The prices were affordable and reasonable. Can’t wait to go to both shops again!

The ambiance and energy of the shop and overall feel is AMAZINGLY healing and positive!! Every time I go to NYC, this is one of a few places that I go to each and every time!!

Other than the fact they have everything you need metaphysicaly the vibe is off if youre a person of color. Maybe they should use some of their items to cleanse the unfriendly spirit within the store. My third and last time purchasing especially after spending $80 and not one greeting or thanks for shopping nothing. Workers made you feel weird watching what youre interested in while secretly judging. I will definitely not be back

Fianna is a wonderful and insightful tarot card reader. Her reading was direct and to the point -- she answered my questions, without my even asking them and picked up on many things going on in my life. She has a real gift.

Possibly the worst spiritual store I have ever been in. The vibration is off and everything is overpriced. If you are a person of color, STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE. They are extremely discriminatory. Every time I am there, I have been given weird looks by the staff. I strongly recommend you go to the other namaste bookshop nearby. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice. I am extremely disappointed because many people of color have expressed their horrible experiences here and nothing has been done. Do not spend your money here.

I use to love this place, but after visiting today its just one more place I dont belong and sadly I will never go back. I visited this location today and one of the female cashiers was rude to me in front of many people because she could not understand what I was saying due to face mask covering. The way she spoke to me was uncalled for and unnecessary. She came across as an entitled and judgy person but Im not surprised...the Union Square area is filled with privileged millennials who love to be jerks for no reason.I guess Ill go back to ordering everything I need online.

If it werent for their selection, they would have received one star. I have been in there on more than one occasion and have felt unwelcome each time. The last time I was in there (a few months ago) was the last straw for me. Typically, when I feel a certain vibe, I check in with myself to make sure Im not blowing things out of proportion. Giving them this benefit of a doubt is why I returned against my better judgement and honestly, from reading the reviews, it looks like im not imagining things after all.At this point I can unequivocally declare that the staff were patently - and consistently - unwelcoming, even obviously suspicious of my presence. As I moved through the store, my suspicions were validated as I watched them literally send a guy with dreadlocks to stand next to me as I perused the tarot section (I guess since IM Black and HES Black, its not what it looks like, right?). I even went into sections of the store I had no interest in just to see if they would follow - they did. Understandably, stores need to furnish some type of security to prevent loss due to theft, but they gave no one else in the store that treatment during the time I was there except ME and I felt every bit of it.I remember putting things on the counter to purchase as i moved through the shop only to come back to find they were in process of putting the items back while having me followed - which shows that they assumed I didnt come in there to purchase anything (they always send the Black ones to do the dirty work - this time it was a Black girl who pretended she didnt know the stuff was mine). I remember the anger and intense shame I felt even though Id done nothing and the frustration I felt at my inability to prove what was happening. And I STILL purchased a few items.As much as I love that shop for its immense collection of books, cards, and other items, I cant - in good conscience - patronize them any further unless they make this right and stop this ironically unspiritual behavior. I dont deserve that kind of treatment.I have researched esoteric alternatives and will be trying those instead.

I love this place! I come every now & then just to look around & absorb the positive energy of the overall environment. Matthew was super helpful, took the time to listen to what I was looking for, & went out of his way to get me whatever I needed! Will be coming back without a doubt

This store has great tarot and crystals but the staff is pretty rude . When I was done cashing out the girl was so passive agressive and I felt like she wanted me to get out . I got really weird vibe and energy here . Also after reading the reviews on here, It made me felt like I wasn’t feeling anything wrong . Most of employees look really young and probally new to spirituality so maybe that’s why they are like that .

I love Namaste and have been going there for years. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I love to buy crystals, candles, sage, cleansing herbs, books, bracelets...they have a wide variety of items. They also offer readings by very skilled individuals and reiki healings. I highly recommend Fianna Avila and Angelina. Fianna is a truly gifted psychic who was the first person to confirm a few things about my family. I didnt have to tell her anything. She right away picked up on my energy and brought up the exact topic that I have been praying about. Fianna didnt even have to use the tarrot cards. She is very welcoming. Angelina is very friendly and lovable. She is a great reiki healer who is able to do a healing session with a short reading. Angelina gave me great advice on my job. When I see her it feels like seeing an old friend. Her energy is very relaxed and inviting. Namaste is healing place with lots of useful services and information.

Took a visit to this location yesterday and felt extremely unwelcome. Looked at the bracelet selections then made my way to the books and realized I was being watched by one particular employee. After a while I asked her an opinion on the books I was looking at but had to wait for her to finish her “seemingly important” texting for her assistance but she seemed extremely uninterested and I was also offered no assistance WHAT SO EVER but rather watched the ENTIRE TIME upon entering the shop. I suggest they close down until they can employ people that actually care for the customer service they’re providing and not people that gawk while you shop because of their stereotyping for people of color. Employ people that care to actually help and your business will go far.

If I could give zero stars I would. How can a shop that promotes spiritual guidance and positivity fall short on helping customers with offering them positive vibes and direction on pursuing their connection? The staff lacks anything positive and customer service is apparently something they missed in their training! I’ve visited a couple of times and the third time was my last time to get them to redeem themselves. They would rather huddle together looking at their cell phones than looking around at customers who they apparently think is a waste of their time. Based on their energy, I would be afraid to purchase a stone/crystal from then because it’ll probably become tarnished before you can walk out the door like their personality.

I love coming here for my energy and metaphysical needs. Now theyve even expanded to 2 shops a couple of doors apart for their overflow which is great because the original store gets really crowded because they have such great stuff. If youre energy is feeling a little off or you just want something to lighten your mood, head on down there and get fixed up. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products.

The reason this shop got 2 stars was because of the overcrowdedness and no precautions measures were taken as far as capacity limit. Though this shop has a lot of things, it was pretty hard to move around and get help.

I get all of my crystal rings from here which are beautiful and great quality! I love the candles, incense and books. The staff is helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I’ll be back soon!

I LOVE the Namaste Bookshop. There is something there for everyone. Great, quality products, fair prices, and extremely nice people working there. Ive missed going there during shutdown, and cant wait to visit again.

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! I cannot believe how insanely expensive this store is, complete nonsense, the same exact items you can buy online for way cheaper. Also the staff is very much annoying and unwelcoming, there are multiple employees in store (which btw makes the store even more crowded than it already is) and they act as if youre about to steal something. There are much better stores out there from ethical private businesses, definitely not this one.

Overpriced for no reason. I spent almost $100 on crystal stones and some of them came in a 1/4 size of what they portrayed them to be on their website & most of them are damaged. So disappointed & it’s such a shame because I had went in person a couples days ago before the shipment came in and purchased some stones & a necklace. Save your money & invest in better stones elsewhere. Such a rip off.

This store is not what I expected! After shopping there several times in the past.I was very disappointed and will not at all continue to shop/visit again. The staff is extremely unprofessional, immature and not at all knowledge. The lack social skills and seemed to be only interested in their cell phones as they ALL stood against the wall laughing and chit chatting amongst themselves. Never once did they greet any customers or help to purchase items needed... The VIBE was a total disgrace and the staff does not represent what the store is About or Stands for I quickly removed my self from that atmosphere and will never return! Thank you but No Thank you!

This was my first time coming to the store. My friend told me about it and i always wanted to go crystal shopping. At first everything was fine but when i needed help the customer service rep named Samantha was giving me didn’t want to be bothered vibes. She was more interested in helping my friend because i guess he was spending more money. Thats what i perceived. When i finally got her attention i asked if she has a ring in the crystal i wanted. She said yes and proceeded to give me a quick sizing and placed the ring at the register. By the time i got home i then realized the ring was way to big. I couldn’t even wear it on my thumb thats how big it was. The ring was expensive and i wasn’t going to just forget about it. The next day went back to the store, explained what happened when Samantha saw me she then proceeded to say and i will quote her “the receipt says you cannot return crystals and you should of realized the ring was too big from yesterday” then she walked off with an attitude. I NEVER leave reviews but i wanted people to know what kind of customer service i received. I’m very disappointed and i will not be spending my hard earn money in that store. Its actually ironic bc the whole purpose of Namaste is to give off positive energy and i didn’t experience that from Samantha. I hope she gets retrained.

Some are very pleasant to speak to or ask questions. Others seem too preoccupied with other co workers that it seems when you ask fo assistance its like your bothering them. So they give off a negative energy. The store has a lot of goodies. So basically as a newbie...just go in there knowing exactly what your want. Know all that there is about what you want. That way you get in and get out still ferling great. There are other stores close by that offer just as good with positive vibes.

I enjoy coming to this comfortable place and buying something different every time I come around. The tumbles are beautiful and I guess around my price range to purchase. Other stuff like necklaces, bracelets, or other ornaments, cost big bucks. Ranging to 10-100 maybe, depending on the item. However, I really love this place. Very peaceful and Ill keep coming to this business

I got ripped off this is the third time I been to this store I bought a necklace again it said 5.95 she charged me for 7.95 I asked her if she could pull up the transaction to refund the money they told me there not sure how to do that and they can see transactions? Yea because that makes sense there prices say one thing but will charge you more once they ring it all up the customer want to see the actual price not false information, terrible customer Service I literally can never get any help when I’m there most of the workers are mentally checked out it’s frustrating so guys do all the research you can because they can do there jobs And the boss always get an attitude because his accent is really hard to understand I like going in to stores with good vibes not negative ones

I really love the selection of crystals and tarot they have. However, I always feel unwelcome when I step through the door. It is so sad to see the staff follow me around as if I’m intending to steal something because of my race. I can feel the negativity and it really brings my spirit down.Every cashier I get is always so bland to me. The person they have before me, obviously of a different race, is always greeted with such enthusiasm and good energy.Because of this I will no longer recommend this shop to anyone. I don’t care how many of us you decide to hire just to make us feel included. 🧐There is no love for US BROWN QUEENS AND KINGS.Do better!

Went into this shop with my girlfriend today and could not believe how unwelcoming and racist the environment was. There was at least 10+ customers in there and I could clearly see how all 3 employees present would only stare at us (we are Latinx) and no one else. One of the customers even dropped a decent-sized crystal on the floor by accident and no remarks were made or employees approached to check up, but rather send someone to us to pressure and literally stare at me as Im skimming for a book (which I purchased), felt like vultures circling around prey. Total opposite of what I expected from somewhat spiritually aware people.

Place was great and everything was displayed nicely. There are some excellent pieces inside here. Even though Im generally not a crystal person, I left here with a better appreciation of some things and would gladly add some of these pieces to my home.

I gave this place a 3 star rating due to the lack of interaction from staff because they were talking to each other. Second, the feeling wasn’t as inviting as another shop I frequent. They have a larger selection but the vibe is definitely different than what I’m used to in smaller more involved shops (Rock Star Crystals). And I still can’t properly burn the white sage smudge stick I purchased. I’m not sure I’ll go there much.

Healing Crystals has went to great lengths to purchase gems from around the world. Each unique piece gorgeous and special. I love that the staff will take time to help you find exactly what yo’re looking for and open to special requests.

I found the Crystal Ametrine Raw Shop online. I looked at many different companies. I collect different stones. I have a love of crystals and stones. I always look up info on different meanings and uses. Namaste Bookshop made it very easy to shop and look for specific stones I was looking for.

Great bookstore in a superb historic building. I love this bookstore although I love most bookstores but this one is special. Ill definitely have to visit again in the future.

Great place! I found this store by accident,but I was very pleased with what they sell. An amazing rock collection. All prices!! They sell plenty of really nice assorted quartz pieces and rocks and crystals for under ten bucks. So Its worth checking out! Really fancy stuff! Great for a gift or for your personal collection!

Great books nice items . However I felt uncomfortable. One of the workers or owner just about followed me through out as if I wanted to steal. I was in the store browsing for about twenty min and saw the cashier interact with several other customers. When I approached the register his vibe changed to a not so friendly one. I bought a book and he asked if i wanted a bag. Uh? Do i want a bag? Why wouldnt I? Im thinking to myself I stood here and watch you ring several people up and not once did you ask that question. Then he said have a good one as if someone was forcing him to. No smile, no sincerity in his face. Yea, after I watched him say to every customer before me to have a nice day and please come again. Also didnt like how the boss spoke to some of the workers. Nice store but the workers operate under low frequencies...was not what i expected for a store that call itself. Namaste..

It’s one of the best new age shop... but they have no care for customers who want some gift box or nice wrapping... they use an anonymous white box and an ugly white rubber band to close the box....this fact make the customer in need to make big efforts to look for boxes, nice ribbons and gift wraps...

WARNING TO EVERYONE!Ive gone to this store weekly for months, then met owner few months back. He acted extremely nasty and unprofessional, clearly indicating to me he was threatened that I was writing names of different items such as Crystals, books and what have you, *which Ive been doing each and every single time and Ive bought hundreds worth of items). The next time he saw me- he told me to leave the store and never come back. I was completely professional and this guy clearly has serious self love/ fear issues. He also made up a complete lie about me, when he told me to leave. I urge all of you who are honest, sensitive to energy and want to share your energy with healthy people that are trying to make the world a better place. AVOID THIS STORE. Toxic energy🙏

Its okay, very hit or miss here. Even though Im not one to usually be watched by employees, I still felt extremely watched and uncomfortable. Its a tiny shop with a bunch of eh-quality crystals and loads of books. If there were a highlight for a store, it would be the psychic readings from there. I have not personally gotten one but some of my friends have and had positive feedback.

Nice selection and affordable prices but customer service sucks. The staff was so warm and friendly with everyone else that didn’t look like me. When I offered a greeting it was ignored. I couldn’t get any assistance, all I received was radio silence. Smh

I found this store while searching for new age bookstores. The place has great energy and the staff was very helpful and nice. It has a very good selection of books.

Im a local author and Namaste agreed to sell my books on consignment. Upon successfully selling the first batch and compensating me accordingly (though not without relentless follow-up), we agreed to sell a second batch of 10 - all of which was documented in email and with two separate invoices. A few months later, I visited the store and noticed my books werent on display. I figured they had sold either some or all so I followed up with my contact who is one of the owners. It took several attempts but I finally heard back and she said she would look into it. After that I had to follow up a few more times before she told me she wasnt sure what had happened. I recounted everything to her and even re-sent the invoices. She then told me someone else would get back to me. When I asked who and when there was no response. That was in April. My subsequent emails have gone unanswered. I am shocked that a small business owner and one that is supposedly in the business of good energy could behave this way. Most importantly, I believe in honest business and this is most definitely a case of dishonest business practice. If youre an author, beware and if youre a customer, think twice about supporting this business.

The people are nice, the price is fair, and the service/selection is bliss. My reiki session was one of the best 15 mins of my life!

I absolutely love this place. I have met some amazing people in there. i frequent often sometimes just to look and feel the energy. most visits i am walking out with something. I even have purchased some pretty helpful books. they have a good selection of incenses from sage to celestial forest my favorite.

I have been here several times. Sometimes crowded. They have a good selection of books on the occult, religion, chakras, spirituality. Amazing crystal collection. Love their incense too. Always come here for sage and frankincense. Only one of its kind worth the trip every time I come.

Good selection, not obscenely priced. Do not get a reading though--the woman spent at least 45 minutes of the hour I booked just talking and the reading she gave me was no insight I couldnt have gotten myself. Left feeling scammed. Otherwise however its a decent store, staff are helpful.

Very cute store but too pricey. Good selection of books, candles, tools.... but the crystals 🤦🏾‍♀️ I’m sorry but they look awful. All so dusty, faded, cheap. Better off buying the crystals on the glass shelves 🤗 Other than that, it’s a cool store 😎
