A private bookseller. They are nice but It is hard to find the elevator. Its hidden between those 2 fancy clothing stores
Its never easy Christmas shopping for our daughter, a young, wealth management analyst in Manhattan (she seems to have everything). However, we recently visited James Cummins Bookseller to explore the idea of starting a book collection for her. We were extremely impressed with the cordial and knowledgeable staff -- and wide selection of rare and antique books at Cummins Madison Avenue shop. After some very insightful counsel, we decided on a first edition collection of poems by W.B. Yeats. We couldnt be happier and cant wait to present it to our daughter!
Really amazing place !Its hushed away on the 7th floor on a quiet stretch of Madison Ave. Its an old-world gem of a bookshop with an elegant setting, beautiful collections and friendly knowledgeable staff. This truly is a special place for any book lover who wants to spend an entire afternoon exploring.
Beautiful space a few flights above Madison Ave. I ventured up the elevator to find a gift for a friends graduation and found a very knowledgable, friendly staff and vast inventory of rare books and first editions.
I ordered something on their website three weeks ago, but have not had any confirmation of it, and they are not responding to any emails I have sent.Edit: I have now been given an apology and a discount on the next purchase. Unfortunately they have been unable to find the book I ordered from their website, so I am still very disappointed.
Very knowledgable and friendly staff
