This is a great bookstore and Cafe located at thee western end of 168th Street and Haven Avenue. It’s directly across from the New York State Psychiatric Institute. They feature books of Columbia doctors as well as paperbacks, best sellers and gifts. They also sell medical textbooks and Columbia University clothing. They have a dedicated staff and often have great bargains and sale items. The cafe is run by Starbucks and has a pretty extensive selection of meals and snacks. And they have one of the cleanest bathrooms in the area!
Small Columbia University bookstore with a Starbucks. Seating is available inside and outside. Columbia merch, books, and supplies.
While the gentleman at the ebtrance was really polite and helpful, the sales agent downstairs (looking after the clothing section by the cashiers) was extremely rude and rushed me to be done as they were just closed. Mind this happened at 7:06pm and the store closes at 7pm.
Nice places and thank god its nearby
Friendly and helpful staff. Always a pleasant visit.
Nice little neighborhood store...
My favorite of a dying dinosaur--the most beautiful, underrated place of all--the bookstore. It is quaint, warm and inviting-a place you can travel the world for hours and be home by dinner time. I can disappear for hours as I peruse their vast array of every type of media, not just books, on everything the world encompasses within its thousands of square footage of well appointed space. I recommend it with every fiber of my being!!!!
Its a small place but i liked it. It was really quiet. I was in and out fast with what i wanted.
I like this place, a great place to find some discounted books, notebooks, etc. Selection is generally limited and relevant to Columbia U Medical program. I usually go to the Starbucks thats connected to this store. More quiet than other places, not crowded, clean. You can easily read a book, work on laptop, or have a quiet conversation.
The sales staff just stare at you when you walk in and dont even greet you. The plus is if you ask for help they will try to help you, but basic aura is the typical unconcerned millennial attitude. I guess everyone by passes the store part and heads over to the Starbucks Cafe section thats attached to the store . . . Furthermore, I was hoping to find a better selection at a nearby location, which when you look up 3954 west 168th St, it doesnt say Its permanently closed. I asked to the young lady that was the cashier if the place on Bway and 168 would have more of a selection . . . She started to tell me that it was the place that they had just moved from, but for some reason didnt finish her statement when I asked her again she said yes they would have a wider selection and wouldnt look in my face as she said it. What kinda of unprofessional madness is that? I have not been in the area for a long time and realized when I reached Bway and between 165 and 164th that the book store that still shows as if its open at 3954 was in fact permanently closed because the store is now at 711 west 168th on Haven Ave . . . Annoying!!!
The staff was very helpful. And made finding the book. I wanted very easy.
This is a cute little campus B&N, with a Starbucks and little gifts, toys, cards, and a small selection of books that might interest the general population and health-related books.
Small university branch, so limited selection of books, but a nice cafe and a pleasant atmosphere.
Prices are decent 2 bathrooms good wifi i chill here before my Drs appt which is next door
Staff is always friendly, Theres like a Starbucks mix inside, good drinks, nice table area to sit outside. Always clean
CUMC book store. They sell a few bestsellers but not that much outside the medical textbook genre. Starbucks with ample outdoor and indoor seating. Hidden gem for studying in the Heights.
This shouldnt be labelled as a B&N bookstore. Its a university story/cafe selling mostly merchandise with a couple of shelves of mostly textbooks and airport fiction. Wasted 2 hours making the trek up here only to discover the above.
Quick snack. Coffee and cake. It was warm and cozy on a very woindy and cold day.
Small store... some books and nice souvenirs of Columbia University.
Very nice staff, very clean and comfortable vibes. You cant use your Starbucks app or points here unfortunately
All ways spotless, employees really care and take the time to help you, and if your looking for something that they dont have, will do what they can to get it for you. Great atmosphere.
Mix of university store, bookstore, and Starbucks. The quiche is awesome, the wait isnt terrible, and the books are medical mainly but you can order something else.
All the book you ever imagine love it is like a paradise
Nice to have in the neighborhood. Books, magazines, coffee too.
Its a regular Barnes & Nobles, its connected to a college
This is a tiny Columbia Medical bookstore—not a Barnes and Noble. There are maybe three shelves of books. The listing should be changed.
Good place to buy books and drink coffee with Star Bucks inside.
Nice environment to visit to see whats available at the location.
Near Colombia medical school. Decent selection of snacks and drinks. Rest room facilities available
Convenient place to grab a snack or coffee. Reasonable prices
A really neat place to study on CUMC, not crowded, a nice coffeshop with tables outside.
Lots of interesting books, ranging around different themes
Great place to getba coffee and relax or do some work.
Its a Branes and Noble, you know books and stuff.
My Hideaway!! Columbia University Bookstore and Coffee from Starbucks!
A cup of coffee and a book. Relaxing.
Small place advertises Starbucks items but not many actual options. Their 2 for $4 deal says any tea/coffee and any size but not true. Upsize or buy a chai tea (even using a tea bag) and you get charged extra.
A good place to drink coffe and read
Warning: This is a college bookstore run by B&N, not a full bookstore...has a cafe, though
They had the books i wanted but not in hard cover
Its a nice place to read and relax and its so bigggggggg!!!!!!
Great staff to bad the company doesnt want to keep the employees happy

A bookstore with actual books..bravo
Not a good attention!
Just a small book store with medical oriented literature and study books
Its items on the menu are very over price. Like a small chocolate bar is 2 dollars a change.
Lots of space

Beautiful store with a variety of Columbia University items, books, and childrens items.
On 5th Av at 46th St.Three floors of books of all kinds. You can sit and read or have a coffee upstairs, Americano ... interesting for us is the section on NY near the entrance. There are also magazines that everyone browses. The childrens section is on the lower level.
I like the environment
Thank you for your services.
