Lovely, warm little bookstore. They have quite a wide collection of books, and some come with notes about personal picks from the staff. They also have a wide variety of gifts, some quirky. It was a delightful find, and one that might interest those who are near Columbia University.

The staff was friendly and the selection was varied and contemporary. Great for browsing. The store is inviting and clean; it has an intellectual but light and cheery atmosphere to it. Ill definitely recommend this store to others and will be back. Dont forget to go around the corner and down the stairs to their children section. It really is nice to see them take this market seriously. There are a lot of kids toys and books to choose from. Cute little space too.

Great service, selection, and prices.Ive just moved to the area and decided to have quite the walk to Book Culture and let me say... it was well worth it!The employees were wearing masks. They were attentive to every customer. They are also having a limited amount of people enter the store to ensure safety. Hand sanitizer is also available and encouraged.I enjoy the little handwritten recommendations they have on different shelves. Having that read gave me inspiration for what I might want to read next!Support locals!

Wonderful independent bookstore with a super helpful staff who went above and beyond to help me select a book. They also carry cute stationary and some fair trade products. There’s a children’s section in the basement and a much larger branch about 3 blocks south.

I would live here if I could. Full of books I had never heard of but I was immediately dying to read (and plenty that I had already been looking for.) Adorable “Blind Date with a Book” display. Love!

I dont have much use for bookstores these days because I prefer to read on my e-reader, but I keep trying to think up excuses to shop at Book Culture. Its such a charming and well-curated shop-- everything I love about a real bookstore. They have a great selection of gifts and an especially cool range of very nice greeting cards. The staff is friendly and helpful.

An indie bookstore on Broadway, featuring a curated selection of new books on a variety of topics. While their larger store a few blocks away has a used section, this one has a nice childrens store with a thoughtful selection just below (entrance around the corner), thats this locations special asset. Of you dont know what you want, the employees will guild you in the right direction.

One of the great independent book shops in NYC, Book Culture has two locations on the Upper West Side, one on Broadway at 116th, the other on 112th. The friendly, knowledgeable staff at both locations will help you find just what youre looking for.
