Great little shop! Reasonable prices for full-day rental of hybrid bikes. Really close to the Greenway on the Hudson side. Staff was super helpful. I was most impressed by the quality of the bike that I rented. A nice hybrid/day-commuter type of bike in EXCELLENT condition. It was really tuned up nicely and shifted like butter. Brakes were great. This was WAY better than renting a Citibike from a rack in Manhattan, particularly since I wanted to do a 20+ mile ride. I wanted to use a good bike and not break the bank doing so. Check these guys out. Theyre great.

Had one of my crank arms stripped where the right side pedal screws in, they had a new one in stock and replaced the entire crankset and new pedals for 97 bucks, which is really cheap for actual Shimano parts, super friendly service from the lady there and everything was said and done in 10 minutes I literally couldnt be happier. Definitely coming back

This is a solid bike rental and repair shop. Christian the owner is super knowledgeable and they always get work done quickly and without issue.This is the only bike shop in the West Village I would recommend, the others are overpriced and a waste of time and energy.

Great! We rocked up without a reservation, and within 10 minutes we had decent bikes (inc basket, locks and helmets) and great advice on places to cycle. The guy in shop was a good guy and very helpful. Riding around NYC is an amazing way to see the city and so safe due to all the bike lanes, even through some big city avenues. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Don’t do the Citibikes as you only have them for 30 minutes at a time. These guys were cheaper for the whole day and we could take to the islands and over the ferries etc.

This is a great place to rent a bike. Good bikes, good location, at a great price. They are right on the bike path that runs all along the west side. You can make the trip up to Central Park in about 30 minutes. The staff was also really laid back and easy with tips and instruction.

I am a loyal customer of Christian and the Waterfront Bike Shop for numerous reasons. Aside from its ideal location, Christian and his colleagues are genuine bike lovers who really enjoy sharing their knowledge and expertise with riders. I have used them for the most simple bike repairs to more complex bike makeovers and I have never been disappointed. They are fast and very well priced and are extremely customer friendly, unlike a lot of the bike snobs I have encountered in other bike shops. They have been instrumental in helping me transition from a once-in-a-while rider to someone whose main mode of transportation each and every day is on his bicycle.

Most expensive bike shop I have ver been to. $40 to get a tube replaced, usually pay $16-$18, even in the city. And the tupe popped out the next day.

I was the free air sign from the West End hwy bike lanes.The od European male showed me the dial, saying he cant pump air for me every time, how people ask him pump their air every time and tgat 100 people stop by a day, as if I would actually trouble him or myself like this.He said new tires would be $20 each plus $15 each for new tubes, $50 for parts and $20 being labor. I did not know what this translates to hourly.I recently bought a bike at the closing our Kmart that had apparently been in a tied off returned, damaged bike section rather than the ones in good repair from the aisle.Penn Station was being suspended, the tire locks kept me from being able to examine the other bike I wanted which turned out to have a complete flat, complicated by the employee having on no protective gear and the difficulty my protective hear was causing complicating my ability to examine the bicycles, which I did not understand were all damaged and returned in that area.Despite not being optimal, I can reduce my need for public transportation which can be riskier with covid-19.The back tire clearly had damage when I bought it, unfortuately no less from the brakes.I wanted the bicycle guy to rotate the tires. I was not happy the price was the labor price was the sane as the tube replacement.Then, the of European male then starts dissing my cheap, yet existent bicycle as expensive to maintain, which would cost more money remedy, and how I should sell my new bike on Craigs List to some unsuspecting idiot.With a limited budget and things that are becoming more cumbersome with COVID, I was getting annoyed.I raised my voice at his absurd line of topic.He then actually starts saying I am permanently banned from the bicycle shop and threatening to call the police who are currently supposed to have their hands full with COVIF-19, because you are yelling. I have our on cadema. from behind an advertised surgical mask, no less, which had just broken on one side as I was leaving my apartment.Yelling in NYC is not a crime. And even if I was COVID positive that wouldnt even be a visible injury. They dont even care about impinged spinal cords, bloody noutgs, black eyes, or injured feet frequently causing wrist inquiries, concussions and separated limbs, themselves.The police say that store fronts can pick and chose what members of the public they serve. Assaulting customers and completely destroying their apartment locks lagging weekly burglaries and vandalism are all things the NYPD wishes they had thought of first.I guess Ill have to learn how to do all of this sooner than I expected, now, which suits me just fine.My only concern is my lack of torquing knowledge, possible injuries and hand strength.This guy is mad as a hatter. Or maybe its that he doesnt have enough underpaid employees to be able to afford to contaminate the Atlantic Ocean from a Fire Island beach house with his naked friends dangling parts from the beach.

First rate. Put the addy in your phone before you set out on the west side of Manhattan. These guys are great for repairs. They understand the idea that spot repairs = keeping you on the road. Prices reasonable. Quick and efficient.

I love this bike shop. It is perfectly located along the Hudson River which makes it an awesome location to rent a bike or get a repair done on your own ride. They care about their customers and every bike that comes through their door (rentals and personal bikes). My own bike is worth 3 bucks and they treat it like Im preparing for the Paris-Roubaix. There is no better bike shop in NYC.

This is an awesome bike shop! I am from out of town/unfamiliar with the area, so was quite upset when I snapped my brake cables/wire while on the Hudson River bike path. Great guys running this place. Very affordable bike rentals compared with some other places in the city. I paid $25 + tax for all day. Price includes, a helmet, chain and they also offered me a map and light. Open until 7 so you dont have to rush to get your bike back as well.

Really friendly, nice guys! I was barked at when I called another nearby west village bike store so this is important to me. They have a bike tire pump outside of the store that anyone can use. I came here to buy a bike pump and a new helmet. They have limited selection but they have on stock items they think are the best along with unique.

So easy to rent a quality bike. Only $100 per week compared with rip-off hustlers around central park who charge double that amount. Also came with free helmet, lock chain, basket and clip on lights. Ive hired bikes a few times visiting New York and these guys are the best!

Great experience. I had been dealing with an annoying rattling for months. Another bike shop told me I needed to spend over $450 to replace my fork. I didnt believe them. I did some research and found Waterfront. They had great ratings so I thought I would give them a try and they didnt disappoint. They quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. These guys deserve every one of their five star reviews. Super friendly, super helpful. They couldve sold me a bunch of stuff I didnt need, but instead gave me a bunch of great advice and did a few minor repairs for free.

Great service, bike is running great now and they really followed through when I picked it up to make sure I was satisfied with the repairs and condition, even making a few more adjustments while I waited. Very fairly priced too, I wish I had shopped here first! Now that I bought what I really need, Ill have to put that rack and trunk bag back on eBay where I got them!

I ride the Hudson River Greenway commuting to work and have stopped by this shop many times to use their air - which is not only free, it is the best inflator I have used (you dial in the pressure you want and it automagically gives it to you).Yesterday I had a flat on the way to work - locked up my bike and walked it to Waterfront at lunch. Fifteen minutes they said. I walked out without a claim check or asking how much they would charge - but they fixed it quickly, quietly and for a fair price.As I ride 40 year old Raleigh, this is not a small deal. Other bike shops Ive dealt with dont like to work on old bikes - okay, no problem, but Im grateful Waterfront is different.

I was hoping to ride the Hudson River Greenway but what they dont mention on their website is that you need photo id to rent a bike so I had a wasted journey to the shop. Thankfully another local bike shop showed some common sense and accepted my credit card as a deposit until I returned the bike.
