During this crisis my daughter and I were looking to purchase bikes for exercise and transportation. I was so upset with this bike store. My rear wheel was stuck. I bring bike there and left overnight . And on next day nobody even started to watch what’s happening with my bike. I told them I need it so fast if possible. No one care about that. They told me a lot bikes for repair. I understand that. But I brought overnight. 24 hours, of course they not work 24, but 8-12 hours from this 24 they work. I know a few repair stores at 145/Amsterdam (yes far away but fast and very good) they always help me in 1 hour when I came there. Sometimes if no line even faster, depend what happens.

I have been looking for a certain bike for 6 months but couldnt find one due to Covid. Well I happen to find Master Bike in NY and they had it in stock. I emailed them to see if it was still available and Manuel emailed me back right away. The bike was available and he would ship it which made me even happier since a lot of other shops wont ship these days. The entire process from the first email to my bike arriving was a little over a week. The bike is in perfect condition and I couldnt be happier. My boyfriend recently got back into riding and was looking for a new bike. It was very hard to find bikes around the city or even online due to the pandemic. We searched and found several places with reputable bikes available. We came across this shop and the people were friendly and very helpful. They had the bike available in store and helped with the sizing of the appropriate bike for my boyfriend, he’s 5’ 11”. The store even checked to see how my boyfriend was enjoying the bike a few days later. It’s great to see such great customer service, not many stores still do that. I feel like bike shops in the city can be pretty hit or miss, and these guys are definitely hit! Master Bike was the only shop in the City that had the bike I was looking for in stock and when I got there it was an amazing experience. I’m still pretty new to cycling, and not only was everyone was friendly and helpful, I never felt taken advantage of or pressured to buy something more expensive than needed—in fact, one of the reps that helped me suggested less expensive pedals and a more reasonably priced helmet than I’d expected. My only complaint is that they’re about 100 blocks north of me, and I wish they closer because they will absolutely be my LBS going forward!

Great service, very reasonable price level and quality selections!We got our son’s first bike from Master Bike. It was our second bike shops before making the purchase. It was very busy but as soon as we walked in and grabbed one of the staff and he helped us with picking the right one very quickly and let our toddler try riding it on the street. Little did we know, the staff who helped us turned out to be the owner himself - who was extremely kind and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable and service is quick! They don’t push you into buying more expensive ones but also give you honest opinions. We got a toddler’s Giro helmet too and the price was better online. We would definitely come back to Master Bike again as my son grows out of his current one.

I got a flat tire on my electric scooter on my way home from work on a Thursday evening. I brought it into the shop Right before they closed and they got it back to me on Monday afternoon. Got a lovely bike for my son at this UWS bike shop while walking by recently. The sales person was super friendly and nice. They assembled it on the spot and there was no sales pressure whatsoever. A man from the neighborhood came in asking for a minor tune up and they oiled the chain for free. Overall, a great experience!

Not a terrible bike, certainly nothing new/nice but it was an alright bike. Only paid $75 for the whole day (24 hours so you could bring it back the next day). For anyone thinking about getting into cycling, not a bad way to test the waters!

Today I had the pleasure to buy not only 1 but 2 bikes for me and my best friend. My first experience with the crew at Master bike shop was in early April. I was greeted with a warm smile and helping hand. I was new to road cycling and was grateful for the patience and guidance I received. specially when I asked the same question several times because the answer did not register the first couple of times. 😂I returned several times throughout the last few months with more questions and to purchase a few essential items like the spare tube and co2 cartridge for flat fix in the go. Finally I decided to upgrade to a more speedy yet smooth Tarmac Ultegra DI2, who would of known it would only take a short couple of months for me to fall in love with the sport and the amazing crew at Master Bike Shop. Im in physical therapy for a hip problem and was told to get different shoes by my PT. Jose knew exactly the problem and recommended the same clip as my PT. Bought a gift certificate bike tune-up from Master Bike on West 72nd for a friend. The bike was CLEANED and the mechanical parts were checked, oiled, and adjusted. Someone walked out into the street just in front of me when I was riding across 72nd street on my 1975 Schwinn. I hit the brakes so hard that one of my cables broke. Fortunately I didn’t hit the guy. Master bike came to my rescue. I brought the bike over and they were able to fix it in a few minutes for a very reasonable price. On top of that they were extremely nice. Highly recommended.

Great local UWS bike shop. It has been difficult looking to upgrade bikes since COVID, but Manuel at Masters was able to make a recommendation based on my needs/what they had in stock. It was super convenient to text back and forth before coming to the shop, and the bike was all set up for a test ride when I came in. All in all, a great experience and excited to have a great local bike shop as I transition from touring to road bikes.

The best way to move around NYC is by bicycle. This place has great customer service, especially from the owner Imber, he is the best! They will go out of their way to help you, by giving you a deal or repairing watch ever you need. They had the perfect bike for the city (Brompton) and they were great in providing guidance on how to best secure it.

Called in for a Specialized Allez Elite which has been impossible to find everywhere from the shortage. The guy on the phone ran down to check the inventory to double check and answer my questions and had the bike ready out of box within a few hours. Accessories in the shop were also fairly priced and they recommended the more practical components rather than just trying to upsell. Honest people, great service, will definitely be back.

Great guys. They have helped me time and again to keep my bike (and life) running smoothly. When my rear wheel was stolen, they offered to try and fit some used wheels they had lying around. I ended up paying half of what I would’ve had to for a new tire. These guys prove time and time again that they are there to help you, not cheat you. Go see them, they will treat you right.

These guys are amazing and will take care of you 110%. i really needed a bike during the covid pandemic and i could not find a bike anywhere. i was recommended to them by a friend and i was able to purchase a specialized sirrus online. After the purchase, i received a call from Manuel who wanted to confirm my order, my height, and bike frame size. The very next day the bike was delivered to my front door, completely assembled and ready to ride! Manuel followed up during the whole process from purchase, delivery and even after riding the bike! I needed to replace a stolen fixed gear bike in the midst of a pandemic. Most of the other stores were running out of stock, I reached out to Master Bike and they said to come in as they had a few options. They remembered me reaching out the following morning, immediately pointed me to the options which were exactly what I was looking for. no awkward upsetting, just getting me the bike I was describing and then adjusting it fit my specific needs. Their mechanics did the adjustments, traded out a few parts, while I waited and I was on my way in moments. It was painless and got me what I needed.

Came in for the Standard Tune-Up and to replace a few components on my bike. They got the service done on time and at a fraction of the cost of the Trek store down the street quoted me. They are a very busy shop because they do a good job and they make sure the customer gets what theyre looking for.

Like, they went beyond to make sure I was comfy with my bike.I had originally messaged them in order to find out if they had MTB gloves (I didnt know Google had the message feature either!). they were helpful via message; responded quickly and on point with information about what I was looking for. So I ended up driving into NYC since they were the only ones around that had them in stock.Once I got there, I just mentioned the young mans name, whom I was texting with, and he immediately got up and had my gloves picked out in different colors and sizes. He was informative about the gloves and their fit.I also ended up getting a hard tail Mountain Bike from the store. I wasnt planning on it, but I saw the bike, asked about it and was given all the info I needed in order to make sure I was getting the appropriate bike for what I needed (trail riding). They got the bike trail ready for me in minutes and even helped resize the seat for me so I would be comfortable during my rides.Again, great service, respectful and knowledgeable staff, will definitely go back once I need an upgrade for downhill.
