My family and I have been buying from Gothic Cabinets for over 10 years so when it came time to buy a desk, of course Gothic was my first choice. I researched my options online and was able to order over the phone with Tony.I have a standing desk, since my job requires me to be at my computer all day. The standing desk doesn’t quite fit the full desk (it was for bought for our massive office desk) but moving the desk a little and it looks perfect!I will always recommend Gothic Cabinet to everyone because they have the best customer service, best options and best craftsmanship.

I have done two projects with Tony and both were beautiful! One project was very tricky and they were able to install the cabinets below the existing top cabinets, with perfect matching. It involves multiple visits and fine tuning, and the final product was absolutely one complete piece of art! The installers were extremely careful - on both perfect installation and keeping my apartment pristine. I will certainly continue working with Tony for any future customized projects.

We recently had a custom set of hall closets crafted by Gothic Cabinet Craft on Broadway on the upper west side. We worked with Ari Voulamandas. He was lovely to work with, knowledgable and responsive to our requests and needs. The closet was expertly installed by Gothic yesterday. It is beautiful. It totally exceeded our expectations. We havent even had the opportunity to have it painted yet but we cant stop staring at it! We would highly recommend working with Gothic.

I went to this store based on the rave reviews I saw here…and, unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. For what it’s worth, I will share what appears to be a (nearly) lone negative review in the hopes that it helps someone. In recent weeks, I have had quite a challenging time finding a rustic, farmhouse wardrobe and sideboard for my Manhattan apartment. I very much desire pieces of high quality that are made of solid wood and are delivered already assembled.I went to Gothic Furniture with a clear idea in mind for pieces I wanted to have built. I walked in with solid measurements, ready to buy and pay a significant amount of money. Much to my surprise, however, the man in the shop made no move to say hello, offer any assistance, or even come over to answer any questions I had about the pieces I was looking at. Meanwhile, the furniture on the floor display looked rather flimsy and of poor quality. For instance, a gentleman’s armoire had a thin sliding door that rattled and shook on its track. Moreover, the door to a corner cabinet stuck and wouldn’t open—-to the point where it started to tip over and forward. A definite hazard to a full grown person, not to mention children. I’ve still not found a great furniture place in the area that sells rustic/farmhouse/shabby chic pieces, but this store definitely isn’t it!

Gothic Cabinet Craft can be counted on for giving you good choices. Whether it is well-done custom work or ready-made raw furniture it comes at a fair price. Thank you, Tony.

We’re interested in buying a platform bed and we went to see Tony Stakis at Gothic Furniture on Broadway and 101st Street. Tony had designed custom kitchen cabinets for us when he was at Gothic’s east side location. He really knows his business and he was such a pleasure to work with in the past that it was an easy decision to return to Gothic, and specifically Tony. He was as kind and professional as we’d remembered. As soon as we decide on the style and the finish, we’ll be back. .

Love our radiator cabinets. We got 3 made- 1 for each room. Tony was responsive and also suggested what was in style as well as practical. The cabinets were slightly delayed because of all the covid-related demand. But he gave meregular updates. Highlyrecommend his service!

Tony did a marvelous job on my cabinets.. I could not have imagined that they would be so beautiful. He even held everything for me for 1and1/2 years because of Covid and not being able to come into my building. I recommend him highly.

I have been a customer of Gothic Furniture since the 80s, and most specifically, Tony Stakis. Tony custom built an entire bedroom set for my husband and I, and it fit our needs perfectly. It showed how much attention Tony put into every single detail we requested. (And, we are picky customers.) I recently had another piece made, and again, Tony came through. I am very happy. Tony is very talented, pleasant, and very accommodating. If you get a chance to work with Tony, Im sure youll be quite happy.

Gothic makes beautiful, custom made pieces. We could not be more pleased with the results. Tony was wonderful - personable, professional, and knowledgable. The carpenter, Pablo, was excellent and very capable as well.

Had a custom radiator cover built by Gothic Cabinet for a tight kitchen space. Tony and his team listened to our objectives and designed and built a custom radiator cover that fit the space perfectly. I definitely would use Gothic and Tony again!

Tony was incredibly patient, professional, helpful and accomodating with a wealth of knowledge and a great attitude. He explained everything, answered all questions, and gave me some great ideas. And a great sense of humor!! He was awesome!! Even my friend who came with me and hates everyone realized he was a gem.

The owner of the store is rude because he doesnt know how to talk to his customers over the phone and always may made excuses he was with a customer and also never calls you back and he said that he called the factory. How he talks to his customers whatever. I dont recommend this place to anyone. He is rude and he doesnt tell you the total information when the estimate when the furniture is coming and he wl tell you 10 days and instead of telling you it takes longer.

I must say Tony and Aris at Gothic Cabinet Craft has never failed me and my familys expectations. Very friendly and knowledgeable on whats best in investingin terms of space and look.Grew up with Gothic Cabinet furniture from when I was a kid and now my kids will grow with the same quality, durability and beauty of these pieces. Lets just say my Mother still has beds and dressers from 20 years ago. They last!Went to buy another bunk bed from them because my kids love the one they have in their fathers house and so they will have one in my house. The bunk bed I purchased has six drawers (3 on top bed and 3 on the bottom) with tracks for easy pull out for space saving storage. Plus we were able to get it stained in two tones. Bed/frame one color Colonial Maple and drawers in Grey.So satisfied with my purchase as well as my sons and plus when we no longer need bunk beds they can separate them for individual use.Great investment and worth the price. Had a great experience with Tony at Gothic Cabinet Craft, Upper West Side. My husband and I wanted a well-made captain’s bed for our son, with plenty of storage. They have so many options for storage, color, type of wood, etc., that it was easy to get the exact configuration we wanted. On our delivery day they arrived on time, and did a fine job setting it up in my son’s room. We’re very pleased with our purchase.

We recently bought bookshelves and the components of a desk from the UWS Gothic store. The quality of the wood and the finish is excellent. Aris Voulamandis was helpful at every step of the order--design, choice of wood and finish, coordination of delivery. He was responsive to questions as well. The order was delivered on time and in perfect condition. The bookshelves that I bought from Gothic many, many years ago still look good, too. Terrific work and customer service!

My wife recently decided we needed a new bed! I wasn’t too excited about the idea but agreed to go with her to see Tony Stakis at Gothic’s Broadway and 101st Street location. We’d dealt with Tony previously, both on the east side and the west side, and we were very pleased with the outcome of each experience. Tony is knowledgeable, professional, attentive, patient and just a really terrific guy! We’re giving his ideas some thought and we’ll be ordering the bed shortly.

We met Aris at Gothic (UWS) to discuss remodeling our second bedroom into an office with a Murphy bed. He made several trips to the apartment and presented several sets of ideas.He was very patient and listened to exactly what we said, and he then incorporated our suggestions into the plans. He seamlessly handled all of our Coop’s many rules and requirements including contractor liability insurance, elevator use, material delivery times etc.,The finished product is a beautiful wall unit with bookshelves resting on 8 sets of pullout filing drawers divided on both sides of the Murphey bed. Then along a window wall he constructed a long open desk atop of the apartment’s radiators and air conditioner. Finally, he had that section wrap around onto the wall opposite the cabinets atop our wine cooler.His crew was very courteous and extremely neat and focused during the installation.Aris kept us informed of the progress of the actual building of the project, including a visit to the factory as it neared completion and then supervised the installation. He was always available to answer any question we might have. Like every custom-made job we wished it could have happened faster, but we are 100% satisfied with the fantastic new office.We are doubly thankful that we did this so that when we completely remodeled our master bathroom, we were able to use the new office as our temporary bedroom and slept very comfortably on the Murphy bed.We really cannot say enough good things about Aris and the quality of Gothic’s work.

In 2019, when Gothic Cabinet Craft was on Second Avenue and 85th Street, we met Tony Stakis, who designed the most beautiful custom cabinets for our kitchen. After Gothic closed their east side location, we followed Tony to the UWS to have him design an a/c and radiator cover because we’d been so thrilled with his work. Again, he didn’t disappoint. He answered every annoying phone call and email immediately and with a sense of humor. We love the unit he designed and we hope at some point to return for a custom unit for our living room. Thank you to everyone at Gothic, but especially Tony.

I love my Z Desk! It was exactly what I was looking for. My job requires me to have a home office, and I was looking for a desk that is stylish, classic, had drawer space, and was able to accommodate a computer docking station, with 2 wide screen monitors. I am able to organize my files while working on the computer and taking conference calls in one place. The quality of the build and wood of this desk is beautiful. I was also able to choose any finishing stain I wanted from a quick visit to one of the Gothic showrooms. Also, I cannot say enough about the delivery; the installation and build of the team that delivered the desk were A+. They cleaned up after themselves and wanted to ensure they built the desk exactly where I wanted it in my home. I am so happy I went with Gothic for my home office space.

Aris, Tony and the team at the Broadway location are excellent to work with! I chose to order directly from the store, even without visiting, am so glad I did! Aris is extremely knowledgeable about the products and helped me to decide which bed would be best and which drawer updates were recommended. Aris was also very communicative via email and even helped me to update my order to a different bed a few days after placing it and sent me additional photos of beds in store with drawers opened, closed, etc.. It was a pleasure to work with this team and I am thrilled with the platform storage bed I ordered. The delivery coordination was also very easy and the men who installed the bed were efficient and professional. In a time where it is so easy to order everything online I highly recommend working directly with the staff at the Broadway location! Thank you!

Nice selection of wood furniture. The man who works there is terribly unfriendly so it did not make for a pleasant shopping experience. He would not even acknowledge the customer. IF you want help ask to speak to one of the girls--he is like a corpse.

When.I walked into Gothic I was not sure how to put what I wanted together. My friend and I walked around the store several on several occasions close several different combinations. Aris walked with us gave his expert advice. He sent me home to take pictures of my room. I came back and Aris performed his magic. I iust got my bedroom furniture. It looks fabulous.
