I had the Mrs. Bagel; a sausage/egg/cheese/ham breakfast sandwich with choice of bagel. Was a large hearty meal to start my morning right. I had a 1/4 lb cup of blueberry cream cheese to supplement the sandwich. The cream cheese alone was to die for. Many many other options for food there for breakfast lunch and dinner, I will have to go back there again soon to try something new.
I always come here for my everything bagel with cream cheese. When I ordered this morning, the guy behind the counter had a nasty attitude. As if I was bothering him by ordering an everything bagel. I just walked out of there appalled. Well you just lost a loyal customer because of horrible customer service. You should handpick your staff if you want to run a reputable business.
Very fresh and good bagels like most NYC bagel shops, but this place has got to start listening. The last two times I was there, my order was messed up.The first time, I received an onion bagel with cream cheese and I thought I must have grabbed another customer’s order by mistake. I stayed away for a while because they don’t open til 7. So I go back there after 4/5 months and I ordered an everything with butter again and I’m the only one in the shop. I Get back to the office, open it, and it’s an everything, but it’s got cream cheese instead of butter. This place isn’t cheap. I think $7.08 was what I paid for an everything bagel with butter and a large coffee. Their bagels are fresh and the shop is nice, but they have to work on customer service here. I know it’s a quiet second Avenue place, but some of us work in the area and don’t have much other choice.
I ordered the grilled salmon, roasted veggies, and roasted potatoes. They didnt have roasted potatoes so I got mashed potatoes, that was fine. Everything tasted really good but I was pretty annoyed that the veggies and the salmon had so much oil in it. I ordered the salmon and the veggies to eat something healthy but it was had too much oil and some kind of sauce. Maybe if I told them steam the veggies and not too much oil for the fish? I would go back though. Other people I was with enjoyed the food they ordered as well. The smoothie I ordered with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas was really good as well.
Awesome bagels, probably the best in the area. Highly recommend.
Please don’t give this place your money. I’m a K9 handler for the City of NY, and today was refused service because of my working k9. The owner rudely decided to ask in an aggressive tone for my dogs identification and paperwork. It’s illegal to ask first, and secondly you don’t have to be so nasty. All I wanted was a bagel and a coffee, where has humanity gone ? Working and living in the city for over five years with a service dog I’ve never been refused service once and I’ve never been treated like that. I have never gone out of my way to tell people not to go somewhere, the rest of my time in the city I will make sure people know not to go here and give them your hard earned money.
Just did a order online and pick up order and they made the order incorrectly.
The bagels here are bomb and good-sized. I paid 5.72 for an egg and cheese bagel which I feel like is kind of pricey but hey.
Business can’t bother to update their hours. Went at 3:20 on a Saturday and they close at 2:30 now. Update your hours.
Best bagels in Midtown! My wife won’t let me go anywhere else for bagels.
Great bagels Great spot.
Served me a bagel with expired sliced cheese. It was rancid.
I saw a review similar and more detailed than this so Ill keep this short - they dont actually open at 6:00. Theyll see you out there and keep taking their time with getting set up rather than being prepared when they say they will be. Just change your opening hours to 6:15 and we wont waste our time.
Wonderful bagels with some vegan spread options. Their coffee is quite good as well!
Ive died and gone to bagel heaven. Not much of a bread eater but I was told while in NYC you must try the NY bagels. I got a smoked salmon bagel with capers, tomatoes, plain cream cheese, and onions. I was only able to eat half but I wanted to eat it ALL. This was very good and I definitely would recommend this place. Great customer service too.
Been here many times and will probably go back. The bagels are good. But big fail this morning. They’re supposed to open at 6:00. I get there right at 6:00 as I have a train to catch. It’s closed but the manager signals me that it’ll just be 1 minute. No problem.I wait about 7 minutes along with another customer outside. Some other man shows up and is let in, though the manager promptly locks the door behind him and tells us yet again that it’ll just be “one more minute.” The two of them chat inside for a few minutes, then get their own bagels and sit down at the counter to eat them. We’re now at about 6:15. I left.I get it. Stuff happens and sometimes the opening needs to get pushed back a bit. Employees call in sick, there are issues in the kitchen, etc. But don’t keep telling people that it’ll “just be one more minute” when you clearly have no intentions or ability to get even close to that. If he had simply said “hey guys, we had some issues this morning & we’ll be about 20 mins late,” it would’ve been fine. I’d have gone elsewhere today & come back here another time. If I didn’t have a train to catch, I’d have probably just waited. But give us the courtesy of letting us decide how to spend our time instead of stringing us along like that. It’s rude.
The bagel was kind of fluffy and soft, almost without much substance. the store itself is rather small and doesnt exactly feel like a place Id want to sit down in and spend time. but still, better than many other options.
Best Flagels Ive had everr... specially when fresh out of the kitchen. Their tofu creme cheese with scallions is yummy, pricey but worth it.
Chelsea bagel is a good spot for a quick bagel. To be honest, theres not much competition in this neighborhood, unless you walk a bit uptown to Ess-a-bagel.Unfortunately, this bagel spot doesnt have bacon, but is fine for cream cheese bagels (lots of flavors to choose from). If you want a fat bacon egg & cheese, I recommend Pleroma deli a block away, although they dont quite have the fresh bagel quality of Chelsea bagel.
Very good bagels & muffins. The amount of cream cheese / butter you get on your bagel varies with who is doing the spreading. Were thinking of buying the spreads separately to prevent disappointments when we get home.
Excellent bagel shop. Only smoked fish, spreads, and eggs, but wonderful stuff
Fist time i ordered, i must say i am very impressed with the way they pack my food out for delivery, well pack and organized, i ordered the signature egg platter with a large ice latte and a blueberry muffin, food was very tasty and not greasy at all.All together i get 2 eggs with home fries 2 lovely slice of golden toast bread with jelly and butter.Side order of 1 blueberry muffin and a large ice latteFor the price for the food above is $12.00 you can t get a deal anywhere, food was plenty, two can eat for the price of onecustomer service and delivery service was great5 STAR for you Chelsea BagelKEEP UP YOUR GREAT SERVICE
Small neighborhood bagel place that serves up delicious bagels and appetizing.
Delicious bagels with lots of options for cream cheese. Fast and friendly service
Best bagel ever and friendly staff with reasonable prices. Worth the trip.
First of all, THE BAGELS ARE SUPER FRESH AND DELISHHH! I stumbled upon this shop when I worked in the area about 4 years ago. A former coworker turned me on to their baked salmon on a bagel. It was sooo good. I told everyone in the office and next thing you know every morning theyd be out of the baked salmon before 9am... thats how good it is. Since that time Ive changed jobs and couldnt remember the name of the shop but Im still in the area so I decided to google bagel shop on corner of 2nd Avenue and 43rd street. Lo and behold they were the first hit. I ordered bagels for the office so they too can taste these fresh bagels. FYI I am not a fan of bagels, however, Chelsea Bagel of Tudor City bagels are fresh and soft they DO NOT DISAPPOINT! :)
Lots of well displayed options, helpful employees who listen to the order request, not expensive. Not much seating available. Espresso machine has been broken every time Ive been there. Self serve airpot coffee has always been hot and fresh tasting.
The bagels are delicious BUT I hate going to this place because of the employees. All the cashiers there suck. They’re rude to you for absolutely no reason. Honestly, I only go here because I live a block away and there’s no good bagel place around me. They literally throws the receipt and pen at you. I can’t even count how many times I’ve had to pick up the pen off the floor because they threw it at me. This place is disgusting!
Great bagels, typically will go with just a bagel sometimes an iced coffee on the side. Staff is usually very attentive and will get your order right. Overall the walk over here is worth it.
Loved their heathgrain bread.. went well with the omelette 😋
Bagel was dry, hard and tasteless. Tofu cream cheese was mediocre. And very overpriced. The coffee was poor and bad too. Wont go back.
Favorite bagels in NYC by far! Also, the staff are very nice. I buy their bagels in bulk, freeze them, and eat them almost every day. My husband and I are addicted, haha.
Lox with onion, tomato, with capers and a good schmear of cream cheese. My Los sandwich was great.
Pretty good bagel but the lox spread had very little lox in it.
Delicious, with a wide variety to choose from. Great enviriment and super affordable. A new favorite for sure!
Great place to grab a Cup of Coffee or Breakfast items.
Bagels are good was going there for months early January of this year. Stop going there after guy behind the counter sneezed and coughed into his hands. Then turned around and ask me what I wanted. I flipped out and asked him if he was going to change his gloves got no response. Walked out, never went back again.
Horrible customer service. No smile as if I am asking for a free bagel. Dont listen to order carefully. Myself and one other customer complained of having bagel not toasted when specifically repeated twice. No sorry at all when reported. If owner or Mgmt sees this post, pls bring back customer service in staff as best of restaurants close due to it. Hope this place preserves its legacy
Good bagels and smears but a little over priced. Roughly $8 for a large coffee and a bagel with a flavored creme cheese.
Great bagels but no breakfast meats like bacon
They guys that prepare the order are polite and friendly.. the manager and the woman at the cash register are very rude the eye rolls and the sighs are bad for customer service
Nice place for breakfast. They have a great bagel selection.
Yummy bagels and friendly staff...keep it up guys!
They dont honor their own hours, employee just stared through the glass like deer in headlights
The Best Bagels you can ask for in New York
Great Bagels, I am a bagel devourer.
Love their chai latte!
Best cream cheese lox and capers bagel in the city!
This customer service here is ridiculous. Just ordered a bagel, they messed up my order and when I called, the lady told me to come all the way back. I walked all the way back hoping they would atleast give me back my refund, but NO. I had to request them the to Atleast remake my order because it was cold. Do not come here.
Eh. Got 2 lox and schmear. Average quality food. The staff messed up both my order and the guy in front of me in line. Then they messed up and charged me $31 for 2 bagels. Might just have been an off day for their staff. Hopefully.
Fast service, good bagels, decent options for a tiny space. They dont make deli sandwiches, but are open every day of the week.
The best Bagel, I ever had
Got an egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel. The bagel wasnt toasted and everything amounted to a few poppy seeds and maybe a dash of salt. The current 4.6 rating seems a bit high.
Comfort food at its finest. A smorgasbord of spreads, fish and meats to add to any bagel.
Perfect. Delicious in every way: fresh clean great service will be back. The real deal!
Always rude service but excellent selection of bagels and cream cheeses, including vegan. Wasnt impressed by the lox cream cheese though.
Solid NY style bagels with some extra goodies if you want them. GF options if you need them too.
Bad bagels and rude staff
Yummy delicious bagel!
