My sister and I were on our way to another crystal shop and happened to pass by here. We stopped and debated if we should go inside to look around and we were not disappointed. Visited Brian’s shop July ‘21 and cannot say enough good things about our experience. My mom is a long time bead collector and was thrilled to find some rare trade beads. I found beautiful earrings of which one pair was made by our amazing salesman/artist, Elijah. This place was awesome. First time i went there was two Saturdays ago(sorry for late review). I was met up with a very close friend of mine to study and ended up coming here. I forgot the young lady that help my friend and I but she was very helpful and thanked us for bringing her energy up that Saturday just by talking to her. I ended purchasing three braclets that i love, Hematite, Garnet, and Malachite. All off them beautiful. If i didnt leave i wouldve bought more lol. But it was a nice place to visit for the first time.

I had such a pleasure shopping at Beads of Paradise today. The staff was so friendly and one staff member Reese ( please forgive me if I got the his name wrong but sure I know started with a R) knows his Crystals! So helpful in selecting the citrine necklace I want to reuse. Great selection of Gems and unique beads as well. Just be prepared to Spend Money!! A bit pricey for strands of beads or I just love the really really expensive ones. Smh Lmbo. However if you know your semiprecious stones from research Im not surprised. 😊

The store has a high caliber collection of a unique beads from all over the planet. Insanely overpriced beads even with their “40% off sale” you can find any of these gemstones and pearls for at least 1/2 to 1/4 of the price online. Bummer because I was looking for a place to shop in person but the prices are truly outrageous.

Nice place, eclectic, but not a huge selection, however the selection is very refined, what you dont have in variety, you make up in quality. The shop itself is very inviting and wonderous to look through, theres lots of unique things to find that you normally wouldnt from a typical bead shop. The style though its mostly oriental, Celtic, Norse and other things like that are very hard to find in there, how ever, anything from the asian countries is much more common place here.

Wide variety of jewelry (beadry?) with a price range of ~$50-$500 from what I saw. Staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the materials; I felt reassured that the surgical steel bracelets were indestructible and the gold-plated sterling silver earrings wouldnt irritate my sensitive ears. Time will tell, but I would highly recommend the shopping experience at BeaOPa.

Beautiful beads, always blown away by their collection. Ordered online and got my treasures earlier than I expected. The quality of each item is beyond compare. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the shop while walking through NYC eight years ago & even as ive moved down the coast to NC, they are my go to for all things magical!

Super helpful and nice variety of stones. They had a sale 20% off $100 purchase which definitely caused me to spend more than anticipated, but Im happy with all that I took home with me that day.

Its a very electic store. I purchased some earrings for my girlfriend for Christmas and picked up a chain for myself. Craftsmanship is good, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff is incredible helpful but give you plenty of space to breathe and do your own thing. The semi-precious bead selection is amazing and reasonably priced. You could MAYBE find cheaper materials elsewhere, but the neat displays and staff make it more than worthwhile.

This place is amazing. They specialize in African trade beads and they have a huge selection available, with many other types as well. Theyre open on Sunday, which is great. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Its possible to take classes there, I wish Id been able to when I visited New York City. I would recommend this shop to any bead enthusiast, its well worth the trip!

Beads of Paradise is a fun, quirky bead, jewelry, and jewelry-making store. Their staff is excellent. On my visit to NYC, Victoria helped me to fix a necklace I had made at a bead shop in Charlotte, NC. I wanted to wear it that weekend, and thought I was out of luck! However, Victoria was helpful in assessing my needed repair, gave me a couple of options to fix, and expected timeline. She was quick, accurate, completely knowledgable, and pleasant, and the necklace is back in business! I visited a few other bead stores looking for assistance in NYC, and couldn’t find the selection or customer service that I found at Beads! Great shop. The other customers I noticed seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. A lady and her two daughters were there making a necklace. Several customers were checking out the antiques up front with another sales associate. Manager was on site and helpful! Yea, thank you Beads of Paradise.

As someone without pierced ears, Beads of Paradise is the only place I can actually buy earrings because they can convert most of their styles to clips right at the store. They have so many beautiful styles you cant find anywhere else, from everyday styles to dramatic ones I wear on stage to perform with. The best thing is their always knowledgeable and accommodating staff. A great local business to support!

Very kitschy plenty to choose from

I went into Beads of Paradise to get supplies for making malas on a retreat. They have a gorgeous but very wide selection of beads, crystals, and gemstones and I didnt know where to start. The manager, John, helped me find exactly what I needed in the right price range and went out of his way to be helpful. Thank you John for your patience and expertise! I will definitely be coming back!

Beads of Paradise is my go to place to be a amongst the precious gemstones and crystals its such a wonderful place to visit the atmosphere there is very calming and and peaceful. And of course to visit my two wonderful people there John and Jamie and the rest of the staff there just awesome. They have great knowledge about every crystals and Stone they make your experience of purchasing a wonderful thing.

A beautiful shop with literally thousands of beads of your choice. I felt happy there and took my time making my large selection of single loose beads which they sell as well.The whole staff is truly amazing, especially Nat who did a custom job for me.

A bit pricey but once in a while you can find some interesting things to buy. Its so colorful and beautifully mixed of various cultures, countries, religions all in one room. Ive bought prayer flags and sage from here. Even if you dont buy anything it is worth coming here and taking a look.

So my mother, small child, and I had our first trip to NY and I was both amazed and disappointed. All of the shops we had planned on visiting ended up being lack luster and as we were heading back to the car we came across Beads of Paradise. I am so beyond pleased that we stopped. There, I got a custom made pair of Hand of Fatima earrings and a pair of earrings made from beetles wings, they were my two favorite items from our trip. Customer service was also AMAZING! Any time I make my way up top I will definitely be making it a point to stop buy as well as shop them online.

I visited this place in my holidays in NY last week looking for beads bracelets and for repairing my onix/hematite beads bracelet...when I entered to the place my first impression was peace, spirituality and of course a paradise of beads, stones, accesories and excellent handcraft jewellery including African and Asian handcraft...after that, the kind owner Brian was an amazing person with specialized knowledge and helpful of all about of this awesome place...his staff is in the same way...definitively I recommend this place..the best in NY..if you want to make your own bracelets or handcraft...this is the place...thank you Brian for all you are the best..my bracelet was repaired in minutes and it is like new... see u next time...Namasté

COLORFUL! This is a word that I can describe Beads of Paradise.I have been passing by this place for years and havent walked in. From the outside you can see all the handmade objects and necklaces in the window. Once you step through the doors. Its like you are somewhere else.You surrounded by tons of beads, necklaces, charms, bracelets and even accessories. If you are a crafter, you will DEFINITELY love this store. You will see a lot of handmade crafts such as wallets and keychains. Further in the back you see beads where you can buy per pack or individually. I even saw people doing crafts there and just relaxing. At the far wall you will see an assortment of Day of the Dead figurines. Really cool.All in all its a great shop with a good location right near Union Square. I wasnt sure if I could take pics so I didnt want to ruin the mood. I will try and take some next time.

Awsome store amazingly wide selection of beads it is a little cluttered but theres definately alot to see I bought a dog tooth calcitem cluster at a very reasonable price. One thing that did turn me off was that they had opalite marked as blue opal in one the displays. Overall great store good experience definitely coming back.
