Visited the store to sell my antiques. Showed photos and they told me they were interested. I tried to set up an appointment for them to see the items. After two weeks of contact with them they could not commit to an appointment. This is obviously a business with little or no capital to buy anything! Dont waste your time with these clowns.

This was a surprize for us to see ! The week end has the flea market across the street and also check out this large Antique style mall . Several floors with a great assortment of vintage to buy . These are little shops and some where not open--we where there early. The top floor has several fun curios and prices seemed reasonable . There is several Asian Style Art dealers here, There is a very good selection.

SUPER AUCTION EXPERIENCE! PURCHASED A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY CRESWICK SILVER WINE COOLERS IN AUGUST 2019. THE AUCTION HOUSE DID AN OUTSTANDING PACK AND SHIP JOB AS THEY ARRIVED SAFE AND SOUND AFTER BEING SHIPPING ACROSS THE US. WILL BUY FROM AGAIN. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Truly impressed with the number of booths, but I went in the middle of the day on a Saturday and half of them were closed! Also, a bit hard to find mid-priced items (look, I only work for government and I dont earn a $100k+ NYC salary!). Definitely worth a second visit!

They do a public auction every two weeks on Sundays and they have some booths inside that look like they might be open other days. The place feels a little outdated inside, but they are doing renovations which will be completed in May. It feels a little like a giant fancy garage sale, but they have really good things and they clearly have a good system for running the auctions. They have bidding online ahead of time, phone bidding, but the auctioneer seems to favor the room which has a pretty good energy on auction days.

I purchased something from ShowplaceNYC and I was showing it to a friend who recentely purchased something simliar with 1stDibs. BUYER BEWARE - They misattribute the history of antiques and now I am stuck with something that was sold as a 120 year old piece which was actually made in the 90s. He was able to return but Im stuck. It is beautiful but not what I purchsed.

BUYER BEWARE!!! I made a huge mistake not doing my research prior to purchase. On a recent trip to NYC I came across a beautiful German Op Art Vase and purchased for my husband from the upstairs vendor. It was not expensive considering other prices in the store. $305 usd including shipping of approx $30.After completing the order I went online to look for similar pieces. I found not 1 but 3 the same in my area. ALL 3 were approx $30 CAD.At first I thought maybe there is something special about the one I purchased. NOPE. Not at all. Same everything as the one I bought for 10 times more. While I take responsibility for not doing my research I also feel it’s important to share my experience so that others know to spend some time doing their due diligence. The store refused to return (all sales final which I knew and agreed to) even knowing what my researched discovered. The store also said they don’t have control over pricing and don’t know much about Experts in German op art. I said I would leave a review and Emily said ok and hung up on me.Her level of professionalism while selling was remarkable. Her customer service after is deplorable. As I said; buyer beware.Thankfully I didn’t move forward on any other larger purchases I was considering from this business. One time customers who overpay don’t come back for return sales. It’s a poor business model.I do hope this review helps future potential buyers from overspending.

I purchased two very expensive vases $550 the vases are damaged they have all around either paint that was removed or they were meant to have all those spots that were never part of the description. I feel a reputable establishment should not try to take advantage of a customer that in good faith believed you were honorable. I have also contacted 1stdibs and will take this as far as it needs to go. Totally disappointed.

A fanastic place to do shopping. There are so many dealers inside Showplace tjat you can spend hours just searching through treasures. Why buy modern cheap junk furniture that will be worth 20% of what you paid the second you leave the store (Marshalls, etc) and buy something with historical significance that no one else has. Aside from furniture, I found a very friendly coin and antiue dealer on the first floor that sold me a beautiful diamond ring. You cant beat this place. Dont let the negative reviews fool you. If you have some time to spend on a nice weekend day you cant go wrong!!!
