All around a great place. We started by taking our son and daughter for music lessons. Then I joined in for Drum lessons. Raymond, the drum instructor does great with me as an adult, but also with my 10yr old son. We were able to get equipment at a great price as the store was clearing some inventory. Kevin the owner is always friendly and he seems to have a great team.
Great choice of required masked even with vaccine, has great options, highly recommend
My son takes guitar and singing lessons here. We love it! The two instructors are really good with their students. They both come out afterwards and speak to me about my sons progress. They give him assignments to do and keep him accountable, even at 8 years old. Definitely impressed. Cant wait for him to participate in the shows.
Ive been coming in here for a few years now, always good to stop by.Finally got up the nerve to turn in my 73 Tele for refret which it really needed. The guitar tech is awesome. He did a fantastic job.Its great to have a local place around. Met the owner a couple years ago and he was super cool.
They are great with the kids and give each their individual time. Its a feeling of true love, interest and development! We will come back for years !
First of all Ive shopped here a bunch of times and have received similar customer service from the same person every time. I went in the store to ask if they had any parts for my pickups all I needed was a few screws and a 3 selector switch and brought my bridge to the counter and didnt even get a chance to ask about it, and I was told we dont carry any parts at all for any of what I was asking. Which is annoying because the part in question is an extremely common part and used for a variety of guitars. Apparently they dont carry any parts so if you looking for any kind of parts for any of your guitars Id stay away and just do yourself a favor and go to Sam Ash in Clearwater. I know Danny the general manager there and they will bend over backwards to make sure you leave as satisfied as you possibly can be with what they have there. However if your looking for any mid grade guitars and a mild selection of boss pedals or maybe a mismatched stack then this is your place.
Visited this shop for help with sons violin. What an awesome shop! Really made me want to learn to play an instrument.
Great music school! The environment is always fun and creative. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. They genuinely care about their students and are very involved with families. Enrollment and disenrollment were both painless. 10/10 would recommend.
Edit: Owner offers whole string change for free. 1 star to 3 stars. They charged me 5 DOLLARS for one guitar string change. My E string broke and they previously replaced it for free so I bought a pick holder for my guitar. So I came back, and thought I might buy some picks or something if they did it for free or for cheap again, but then the guy at the counter says it would cost 5 whole dollars, 2 for the string, 3 for tuning and setup. The tuning and setup took 30 seconds.Go somewhere else for string changes or learn it yourself. Thats what Ill be doing.
Great store. My son started guitar lessons there and loves it.
Our family absolutely loves Music Matters and are super grateful for their role in cultivating our daughters love for the arts. Our daughter has participated in summer camps and a couple of musicals put on by Music Matters very own Cristina Sparacino. Most recently the musical our daughter performed in was fully written and composed by Cristina. I was beyond impressed with the entire production including the rehearsal process. The best part Music Matters uses these special performances once a year to raise money for local charities and has raised thousands making a positive impact in our local community. Not only has our daughter had the opportunity to learn from a quality teacher but she has had a chance to learn giving back while using her talent. For 2 seasons now we have watched our daughter’s skill level vocally and theatrically improve. More importantly her confidence level has increased on stage. Cristina is an amazing teacher, coach, producer, and performer. Our family highly recommends Music Matters.
My son gets drum lessons there and loves his teacher great with kids and Adults. Great prices on the equipment even beating out Amazon. I personally wanted a guitar to take camping and on my boat. So obviously I did not want an expensive one and the owner found me one cheap. It was a return that was said to have a twangy sound. It had a tuner built in and I put some different Strings and although it is there it is not noticeable. The only down side is sometimes the instructors become unavailable at the last minute. They try to notify you as soon as possible and go out of there way to make it up. Only happened once to me. I showed up and no instructor. However the owner had text me that was the case. Unfortunately the text didnt go through to my phone till after I got home. That was the fault of my phone company though as his text was sent at a reasonable time, my phone service on the other hand.... Well thats a whole other review.
Enjoy talking with Mike sandra gives my wife excellent violin lesson
Very knowledgeable. Worked with Kevin B for guitar lessons. Individual lessons are 5$ more than I payed 12 years ago. No complaints.
Great place for music lessons and to buy instruments. My guitar teacher Kevin is a great teacher. Very patient. My daughters violin teacher is wonderful as well. I am very glad I found this place. Also, to all those that play guitar left handed like I do. They have those available. I highly recommend this music store.
Very friendly and welcoming. Very knowledgeable and they have a great selection . Great place to take lessons. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. I definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in learning music or purchasing a new instrument.. (:
Music Matters is a great place, my 14 year has not been there a year yet, but he enjoys going and JR his trombone lessons teacher is great with my son.
I signed up for a “free” music lesson last week. I was told the instrument would be provided for me and all I needed to do was provide a deposit and make an appointment. The first gentleman, who helped me was a bit rude. He told me the deposit was $27, the second gentlemen who cashed me out only asked for $10 deposit.Upon arrival on the date of appointment there seemed to be a lot of confusion about times and appointments between the instructors and other students. I stood there for few minutes before anyone greeted me.Finally, one of the instructors very aggressively asked “What do you need help with?” I told him I had a 3:30 appointment for lessons and he explained that I needed an instrument or I needed to sign up for the instrument rental program. That was completely different story than what I was told when I signed up for the lesson!Something fishy is going on here. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a professional experience.
Went here for piano lessons and was very dissapointed. My teacher was AMAZING but the owners kept screwing up her schedule, one day I was scheduled for a 1:00 appointment and they did not even put me on the schedule. They gave me a replacement teacher for the day and he was AWFUL. He did not answer any of my questions and wrote all over my sheet music without even asking me. Soon after my piano teacher quit there to start her own Music Academy out of her house, and i have gone there ever since. Much happier now that i am out of music matters.
Awesome shop. Owners and teachers are really nice., They take care of me and they have awesome prices!
My son started 6th grade this year and joined band. Hes learning the bells and the kind gentlemen there at Music Matters, not only found us a really good used set and held it for us, but also made sure he had a music stand for home too!! They made sure he had the music book the school requires him to have as well. I was grateful for their help because I never took band and I was very pleased with the service. I will be going back for any more musical needs. If you are a parent who isnt sure what your child needs to play, they know, and they were very happy to help.
If you want to be argued with and insulted when you are more informed than the tech go here. Tried to sell me a used accessory out of the techs bag for triple the price because the store didnt have them. Then I showed him the price for a new identical piece and he got flustered and agitated
I take fiddle lessons here. The people are wonderful and extremely helpful. And I of just been hanging out at times and just seeing how they interact with customers and theyre just a bunch of nice people
More of a place for music lessons than a music shop, but does include a variety of guitar equipment although a bit pricey. The cashier wasnt too personable, however a friendly and knowledgeable gentleman (could have been an instructor or owner) helped me choose the best pick for my guitar.
I had a guitar emergency, they took in my loved one quickly, and with great bedside manner. They repaired her on the spot, and got us out playing that night. Thanks guys.
Visited the store for the first time today. I was interested in buying a Boss pedal, which they seemed to have a good selection of. I was in the store for over ten minutes with just one other customer and no one even said hello. The person behing the counter had even made eye contact with me more than once before going about his business each time. At one point, I had even stood directly in front of him, but he continued to ignore me. I don’t forsee this store being open long with such terrible customer service.
Great Instructors. No pressure, ample space and knowledgeable staff! Great place for lessons!
Very disappointed with the summer drama camp. If you are considering sending your child make sure they have previous acting experience otherwise they will be lost. 18 out of 20 kids already knew the teacher and have acting experience including her child. It would have been nice to know this before taking my $175 we couldve found something for beginners elsewhere. This was a complete waste of my money since my child was so upset she couldnt even finish the camp and she doesnt quit anything she starts. Needless to say we wont be coming back.
Selling must be a casual hobby, must be trust fund babies . no keyboards, poor service ! Then dont advertise that you have them.
Awesome service n selection
Awsome stuff and a little pricey and cool clases
For someone who is already a musician.. This place sucks. I went in to buy a pack of guitar strings because I was in a bind, and a pack of Ernie ball strings were $8.25? RIP OFF. Everywhere ive ever bought the same strings they have been $3-$4 cheaper. Plus,The sales associate didnt even look at me, acknowledge I was there or anything. Plus! We was wearing a Karate uniform? I dont about about their lessons. But for general sales.. I will never ever go here again.
Very overpriced. Music matters is a very stuck up environment and they treat their customers like imbeciles. We wont be back here.
Great real American neighborhood music store
Great deals!!!!
A great Music experience!!!!
GOOD BOY! TRAVISSIMO!
