My family love this ice cream shop all flavors are delicious, definitely worth it and very nice customer service .

This place is an awesome hidden gem! It’s a little tucked away so you have to be looking for it to find it, but their shaved snow is delicious with some incredibly generous portions. Try the apple pie and the vampire penguin when you go!

I had the peanut butter cup shaved ice and my husband had the strawberry cheesecake shaved ice. We got the large sizes which is $10 for a large. It was amazing and i would recommend this place if your looking for something different to try and happen to be in the area.

Holy amazing. Took the family for the first time tonight and we all picked something different. Everyone was in shaved snow heaven! Seriously light and airy, didnt weigh me down at all. OH MY GOODNESS! Today, was my first time experiencing Vampire Penguin, and I have to say, hands down the best “snow cone” I’ve EVER had. My family and I enjoyed two of their menu items: Sweet Tooth and Strawberry Cheesecake, and they were absolutely amazing. The snow itself is light, fluffy, flavorful and melts in your mouth. It’s unlike anything we have ever experienced. These treats are presented in the most gorgeous way on plates and served with a smile. Huge shout out to the guy that helped us today, he was working alone and serving many, yet still managed to smile. He deserves a raise and a vacation! We loved chatting with him and we plan to be here every single Sunday to try many more of these delicacies. Thank you vampire penguin for giving us a way to beat the heat and providing the best/cleanest environment! You guys are wonderful! Keep it up!

I was skeptical at first...until the first bite! Great flavor. As a family of 4 we chose 4 different flavors, of course. Strawberry cheesecake, Banana creme, Peanut Butter Cup and Mexican Candy. All were great, perfect for a hot day and/ or after a heavy meal. Highly recommend and we will return!!!

If your in the downtown New Port Richey area and looking for a unique treat, then Vampire Penguin may be just what your looking for. This little shop is putting a new twist on a classic favorite, shaved ice! What makes theirs different is the flavor combinations, toppings, and presentation. The menu will definitely have something to satisfy every palate, and the fun, artistic atmosphere will surely be a winner with the kids. The ice reminds me of a place we used to frequent in Alabama called Sno Biz. It is a light, fluffy, snow like texture, and not at all icey. Its also not dense or creamy like italian ice. My only warning, is they are a little pricey! Its not often that dessert is more than dinner, but its pretty easy to do here, especially with a family of five! That said, the flavors were delicious, the service was good, and everything was a hit.

Its an interesting concept. I think they are very good about letting you know its shaved ice, and not ice cream. But it also seems a bit healthier than ice cream as well, so theres that.

Very hard to find because a food truck is blocking the front entry all the time. Inside is ugly but oh the ice they serve up is delicious! Definitely worth a visit! I cant describe the dessert ice they serve up because it is totally unique and very very good!

This place is very unique compared to your average ice cream shop. Its, snow, with various toppings youd likely put on ice cream or other desserts, but it puts it on a different level. I had the Halo-Halo and my son has the strawberry cheesecake deluxe, and both were very good! We got larges and they were exactly that! Fortunately the snow is lighter than ice cream so I wasnt over-full after eating it all. Definitely recommended! The employees were also very friendly and quick with service.

I got the Mexican Candy and it was so freaking good. I was surprised on how much flavor it has for being shaved ice, and i can’t wait to try other flavors. 💯recomendó

This place is awesome! We went for the first time today. I had the s’mores and my boyfriend had peanut butter. So light and refreshing! Get the satisfaction of filling your sweet tooth without the sluggishness. Such a unique desert and never had anything like this before. Perfect treat for Florida if you ask me. Dan is very kind and welcoming. Loved that they have options for people with diet restrictions. We will be back with friends!

Some short stocky guy was very disrespectful. the place smelled, he smelled. it was absolutely a disaster, you could taste the scent in the ice. there was one really wonderful curly headed employee who made my day. she was very nice even though this place is not very good.

This place is a gem! It’s family owned and operated, we met the owner, Dan. It’s perfect for those wanting something sweet, but not wanting to break the calorie bank. It’s light and fluffy, but filling at the same time. It’s the delicious treat and you won’t be disappointed!

I can not describe the ice cream to people that is served here.....it is shaved and light and fluffy. The flavor toppings have to be tried and mixed.

Tried for the first time met Danny I believe his name was. First off the service was great from the time we entered until the time we left. The atmosphere was great with good music playing. And the snow omg the snow the wife and the kid loved it we finished every last bite and you do not feel bloated at all like ice cream. Its probably the lightest thing Ive ever ate! We will be regulars !

Don’t like the ‘vampire theme’ - makes me thong of blood when I see juicy cherries- but sooooo glad we have Italian ice place in NPR !

The inside is still being worked on, but overall it seemed nice, the food was good and you get a large portion for the price you pay.

Looked on google for an ice cream shop nearby and it brought us here to find out it wasnt ice cream but shaved snow. We decided to stay anyway and so glad we did the staff was very friendly and even allowed our children to go in the back to see how they make it. It was so good and the kids loved it as well.

This was my first time trying real shaved ice, and oh my god! Its really like eating a dream - which is funny, because I got the Orange Dreamscapade.The small team working, too, was obviously working hard yet they still managed to provide excellent customer service. One man (which I think is the owner?) was simultaneously cleaning surfaces, taking our orders, giving instructions, moving around/getting things done, and smiling! We only saw two people working, but we got our order in about two minutes. What!My husband says that whenever friends or family come to visit us from out of town, this is one of the places were going to want to show them - and I couldnt agree more.

I love this place however 3 times now there has been hair in either mine or my friends snow. DISGUSTING. May I suggest hair nets?Owner responded that they have only had a plate returned once for this issue and knew who I was with. The first time it happened I was with somebody else and the hair was coming out of the middle of the dessert. That was the FIRST time it happened. My review was made after the second time it happened. I said three times because when I was done there was a hair on the last bite when I was there with Des. I didn’t say anything as I was done. I also don’t see why it matters whom I was with as it did happened more then once. The first time it happened I brought to the plate up and they made my friend a new one and they upgraded the size on the replacement. If you’re going to respond and say you investigated please make sure you have all the facts as what was stated was not true. I love this place and I will give it one more chance.

After a few people suggested we cross the bridge and check out this new Vampire Penguin dessert place. It was well worth the beautiful treck over the lovely painted beige. My daughter and I were super surprised and delighted at the shaved I’ve combinations we chose. For her the Yaba daba do and for me The banana cream pie. Well will most definitely be back!

Incredibly unique dessert idea!We have visited Vampire Penguin several times since they have opened and have not been disappointed.We have tried several of their creations and they all have been amazing.While a little pricey, we would say they are worth it.A great alternative to ice cream.

In all honesty, I had high hopes for this place when I saw the reviews on Facebook and Google maps, however my experience wasnt worthy of 5 starts. While the shaved ice definately tasted good, I think the serving size and how much I ended up paying in the end, as well as the customer service is why Ill probably never go there again. I was missing 3 of my toppings (considering you have to pay 0.75 cents per extra topping) made me really sad, not to mention the amount of topping I got was barely anything. The serving size was half the cup that it came in. When we got our dessert, there was a mix up with it being a to go order, and when one of the really nice employees went to take it back, the owner or manager exclaimed loudly that we said we wanted our order for here, despite us saying 3 times we wanted it to go. The tone and the vibe that comment gave off just put us off.We still enjoyed our dessert but we ended up paying $20 for 2 small servings.

The ice ( over priced for what you get ) was good but not a single employee or the owner wearing a mask. The tables were covered in food and not cleaned. The only sanitary thing i saw was the employee serving us with gloves on. At least there was that.

This place is great. When I first heard about it, the thought went through my head was snow cones. I rode my bike by this place everyday and finally went in. i was very surprised by the taste and texture. When some of it melted it was creamy and good. So I plan on trying all of them. 😀

Great little dessert nook! A little hard to find with GPS but worth the search (on the corner of River Rd and Main St in the new apartment complex) :) Portions are huge and pricing is great. You can either choose from the select menu or create your own dessert by going through the steps (very easy) and choosing your own base and toppings. There are many toppings to choose from and everything tastes fresh. Will definitely be going back!

I really love this place, been quite a few times. Unfortunately I’ve had a couple issues with hair being on my plate.Tonight, I had a hair hanging off my plate and the young man asked me “do you want a new plate or to just take it off” I’m sorry but that’s gross.Then after done eating seen a hair across the bottom of my plate. So after I ate it I noticed there’s a hair on the bottom of it.I think it would be a lot better if you could double check plates for pieces of hair.

Date Night...a special treat...I had a peanut butter cup and Stacy had a pina colada...better than ice cream. Its Shaved Snow, that has different flavors, but not like a snow cone. You just have to come try it for yourself. The staff are super nice, social distancing, and mask wearing all around

I had my first experience of Vampire Penguin last evening at the New Port Richey location. I ordered the Dulce de Leche creation which was off the charts! I will definitely be a repeat customer and highly recommend it if you want to give yourself a delicious treat!

It was ok.. The flavor was Great, but the shop itself left a disappointing feeling.. The Price, Way, Way to high. I get that their rent is expensive, however, they, the shop owners have limited their own potential. The design of the inside is only interesting at Halloween time and the menus is very small.

I can honestly say this might be the best dessert on the planet. Its different and calories are low. Prices more then reasonable. But the quality of the food is without a doubt, SCRUMPTIOUS! The atmosphere is cool, great place take family for dessert. My wife and I like this so much better then other dessert places. This place is new in town and is def the talk of the town! A+. The owner is real friendly and made us for welcome and that are business was appreciated. Next time we brining kids which will be very soon... Great place to get away and enjoy best dessert in Tampa bay area. (Brian N Tami)
