I LOVE FOOD CO-OPS!We stumbled into this neighborhood grocery from the lobby off of Island of Salvation and indulged in some really cute gifts (a plant, insect repelling incense sticks, a zipper pouch). We were only in town for the weekend, so grocery shopping wasnt really in the itinerary, but happy we found this cute spot!

Greatest grocery store ever and I AM THE OWNER!For those of you that dont know, we are offering the lowest prices we can with an extremely low markup. We dont have the same buying power that Walmart does, but were growing and as we get more members we can place larger orders and ultimately get lower prices. We listen to our owners here and if theres something we dont have and you will regularly buy it, we will get it. You can even come to the meetings. What we need is more active owners who will spread the positive word about what were trying to do.Im always a little set back how some owners dont understand the mechanics of a co-op and view their investment as akin to a Costco membership. If you are an owner and you want the best experience, tell a manager or leave a message in the comment box. Youre free to leave negative reviews if you want, but ITS YOUR BUSINESS TOO! It doesnt help your experience, it hurt it and let me explain why:Lower ratings = fewer customers, which means less orders and higher prices. We could work miracles with a 5-star rating on Google. That kind of support from our owners would propel us to new heights.

Sparse selection, definitely not enough to do all of ones shopping. Not worth the trip unless you live within walking distance. The co-op definitely does not cater to the average neighborhood resident.

Most of the employees are fine but the cashier Lucca was nasty and should not be working in retail. He also made people sanitize their hands before entering despite research telling us covid is spread by aerosols. Lucca, combined with the high prices garner one star.

I am an owner here but am often disappointed with the prices. While grateful to have access to some hard to find, high quality items... overall the price point is extremely inaccessible to any average person. I tried to shop only at the co-op for about a month and I nearly went broke. For example raw chicken breasts are $14.99 a pound! All meat is over-priced even for pasture raised products. This co-op has a bad reputation amongst locals as being too expensive. It is cheaper to buy six single beers than it is to buy a six-pack of the same beer. Is someone not catching these things? Some employees are soulful and kind while others always seem annoyed and over it. I have mixed feelings.

The items here are overpriced, and the guy/man at the checkout line is extremely rude. If I am paying two and three times the price for a product, I should at least expect to have decent customer service. This man is here every time I come to the store, so he works often. He is condescending and extremely rude.

I’m glad to be a member of this co-op. Great spot for most grocery runs. They seem to have most everything you need for day-to-day essentials. They have AMAZING local produce and a lot times have interesting varieties of veggies.

Unreasonably expensive and staff could be kinder. It doesn’t help to purchase something twice the cost of what it would be elsewhere only to be snidely condescended to by the cashiers when you state you aren’t a member. Employees with masks under their noses, a nasty sink at the front where you are required to wash your hands upon entering... and I mean nasty. How is it cleaner or more sanitary to grab knobs on a sink and a push on a soap pump? If they are going to require that, they should have a completely contactless system. It’s frickin gross.

Great selection of healthy, quality food, very clean and well organized. Wonderful, extremely helpful staff. There is a very large selection of loose seeds and beans to be purchased by weight. Freshly made in-house sushi, salads and soups. Beautiful, local produce and eggs. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan food.Wonderful surprises and discounts!

Great store for a lot of different unique items. Not going to be your grocery store with meat and chicken and stuff like that there but it definitely does the job and has a good variety!. Definitely try to shop here other than a regular grocery store to help out the community

I love the co-op and have had many visits there, even though I do not live in NOLA. I love my co-op in Pittsburgh, pa. All the food I have bought in these stores, had been Great! We need more co-op stores which hsve membership input.

Dont waste your money or your time. This place sells wilted produce at a premium price. What is offered here is just way too expensive. I dont think they got the memo, that they arent catering to Uptowns clientele. If youre shopping here, youre most likely just picking up an item or two. Theres no way Id recommend shopping for all your groceries here.

Great little grocery with some interesting selections. Prices definitely run a little on the higher side for some things but you can really load up on some good healthy food or grab a pre-made lunch. The workers are as friendly as can be. If you dont mind spending a little more you can find some really interesting groceries here.

This is a real co-op. Just a small store but they have just about everything you would need. Including candles incense, local produce a small salad bar and tons and tons of munchies. The healthy kind of munchies. Very good variety for such a small store.

After shopping perhaps 8 times, I like the store, selection and overall vibe. However, I have noticed a definite lack of knowledgable cashiers almost half the time and today I had to argue that 3 bread items marked 50% off are 1/2 the regular price. The cashier, already aware of the price reduction as I commented on it and she responded affirmatively, attempted to charge me full price. There is much to be said in favor of community-based shopping but nothing favorable about being overcharged by doing so. If you are not going to train your cashiers better you need to price the items and not simply add a 50% off sticker.Enough said, I am not sure I will shop there again.

This Co-op Hooked Me Up Fine; we came down from Vermont for Mardi Gras, went to this co-op and the very friendly register guy asked if I was a co-op member at home, to which I said yes, and he gave me the local member discount. Now *there* is somebody who is looking out for co-op people throughout the land! BTW: this co-op looked good, had great variety of items and I think NOLAsians should support such a local venture. We love our co-op market in Burlington, VT !

You cant compare a CO-OP grocery to huge for profit chains like whole foods, Walmart, ect.A co-op is a business owned by its customers, members of the local community. So when you shop there you arent just supporting the store but a whole community with hundreds of members! So no... its not like wholefoods or Winn Dixie, its much much better. And I am proud to be one :D Amazing staff! Great selection! Id much rather support this small local CO-OP and its local members and employees than Whole Foods. Its a really special store, great vibrations.

I’ve been here a few times (as it is the closest full-service grocery store to my house), but have found it a bit lackluster. The prices are higher than Wal-Mart/Winn-Dixie (as one would expect from a smaller, neighborhood store) and the selection isn’t nearly as good as Whole Foods. IMO, the drive to the Whole Foods on Broad Street is worth the extra 7-10 minutes to get a better selection.

Unbelievably rude female employees, literally every single one. They will go an entire transaction without speaking unless it’s to ask if i’m a member. The one time someone did speak to me, the woman cashier commented on my body. So inappropriate and offensive. I can’t support that. They never offer help with bagging or in any other way. The few male cashiers are always so friendly and helpful. If I’m going to overpay for groceries, I’d at least like it to be a pleasant experience.

Prices are just OK, but the selection of eco-friendly and organic options is extensive and you can get a 10% discount on the third Thursday of the month if you become an owner (i.e. paid member); its not a crazy expensive membership and pays for itself if you stock up on a few discount days.
