To whom it may concern (anyone that enjoys coffee),PLEASE do not come here. Overpriced well beyond the taste and quality it offers. Truly wanted to like this place due to being aesthetically pleasing for a speciality coffee shop. Dont be fooled by this place. Starting to think the positive reviews are the employees. Also wish the employee was more cautious considering well the pandemic.

Hmm, the coffee is okay. Very weak, even after adding 3 shots of espresso, for my liking. The vibe is okay for those looking for a place to study or catch up with assignments for work, school, etc. while eating one of the many pastries they have to offer. The gentleman that served me was very nice and made the mood much better.Great prices for what is offered.Plenty of sitting options (even with all the COVID restrictions).I will be back for their pastries, but not their coffee.3.5 starts

I wanted to like this place, it looked cute online but it’s a hard pass for me. The coffee was underwhelming & the employees.. yikes. The vibe was super off, employees very rude, especially the one with the weird glasses. As I read the previous negative reviews, I feel like the same person is being talked about, maybe he’ll lighten up one of these days. I recommend “Who Dat Coffee Cafe” instead.. it’s a block from this place :)

Went for the mochi, and Ill definitely be going back.Havent had enough of the menu to give a five star, yet, but what I have had (sherbet and pistachio mochi ice-cream with Vietnamese iced coffee) was pretty great. (The drink was just the right level of sweetness to round off the bite without smothering the coffee and the mochi was an excellent new experience.)The barista we had was courteous and quick. The place is simple, quiet, and clean and nestled into one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city. Its a local hangout, so dont expect CD racks and merch stands. If you prefer quality over branding, you should definitely give The Orange Couch a shot.

Have you ever read reviews on a place and decided that you will try to disregard the several bad reviews because you prefer to conduct your own opinion? Or perhaps you have ignored the neighborhoods negative gossip on a place! Well, if you are like me and often take that route.. you should heed the warnings of this place. Even IF they had a decent tasting cup of coffee, the radiation of poor attitudes and managements distaste in employment (even during a pandemic) is enough to make anyone believe Starbucks is the most divine gift to humans. Overall, the combination of mediocre coffee and incredibly rude employees should result in a rating without any stars. Hopefully the one star could be considered wishful thinking for a much needed change :)

What a cool spot, they are funky, vibey and do all the right things. Its a quaint little shop but it needs to be talked about. The entire aesthetic of there literally being an orange couch and white everywhere else is awesome. Their coffee is a bit on the stronger side but its delicious! (I prefer it)

Friends lined up for coffee in a very long queue. I asked them to order my coffee as I went to the restroom.Basically got yelled at by someone at the register in front of the whole shop to purchase coffee first. I tried to quietly explain that I was purchasing coffee through a friend. He cut me off. I left embarrassed in front of the whole shop. Was that really necessary? If the rules are so important, please consider posting a sign instead of choosing to embarrass someone in front of the whole shop. I would have gladly followed the rules but you left me no choice but to leave embarrassed.I will never come back here. I will never recommend anyone come her

Cool place, went in around 12 on a Wednesday and all the tables were filled. It was a little cool that day so I didn’t sit outside but there were chairs. Good coffee, oat milk latte was excellent, barista was very well informed and nice. I’ll try the mochi next time. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Coffee, drip, was strong/ bold. Atmosphere was almost clinical. Seating in 2s and fours was claimed by singles steeped in their digital world, almost no conversation going on. A safe place to be among other and be alone simultaneously. The orange couch is foreboding, no one sits on it. Outside the tables were filled with people doing life!

In my brief time in N.O., the coffee here was the best I found. A bright, clean atmosphere, folks on laptops or drawn together in small groups. There are two large couches among the café tables and, of course, one is v orange. A variety of snacks and baked goods available (including vegan options!), ice cream too (very in-vegan 🙃). 👍👍

The moment we walked in we were “greeted” with complete disrespect - as if we were a bother for entering the shop. My husband then asked if they had anything like a coffee cake in which the reply was, “everything we have is already in that case.” Umm...okay. So then I pointed out there were cookies. The display of cookies are various glass cookie jars near the register, close to patrons. My husband took one out and then was berated, “don’t ever do that again, I don’t know you, or where your hands have been.” I was in shock. I said, “okay, we can understand that, but the way the display is set up, one would think that is what you are supposed to do.” We paid and as we were leaving, I heard him “running his mouth about it to” the next patron! I let him know we could still hear him and left! I was in complete disbelief that not only would he berate and scold my husband, but then would complain about us to a fellow patron. A disgusting display of “professionalism.” We will NEVER go there again, and I truly hope someone in management views this and handles the situation. It happened on May 5th at around 5:30.

Very rude barista with tacky hot pink glasses on. Choice of music played in there is dissapointing and just as obnoxious as the glasses. The coffee is not very pungent but its better than starbucks which is a disgrace to the word coffee, so that doesnt really say much. The orange couch isnt very comfortable and neither are the tables that should not wobble as much as they do. The redeeming factor is the natural sunlight that pours through the large windows lining the corner walls of the venue.

Gorgeous little setting, yummy coffee and treats, and best of all, the most miserable resentful looking hipster barista Ive ever encountered. Great, cozy atmosphere despite the modern/utilitarian design. Friendly staff and a great place to do work as well and get an inexpensive cup of coffee. Orange Couch stands out compared to other coffeehouses in the area and its by far my favorite.
