Pagoda Cafe has been on my list as a place to visit for several years. I was just never near the location during their opening hours. Apparently, it’s not been long since they reopened post pandemic. You order at the window and when your order is ready, they bring the food to a particular table and call your name. All seating is outdoor. I particularly enjoyed the mango lassi and the guava cream cheese puffs; although, I was puzzled as to why they called them “puffs” when there was only one. I wish there would have been something me mention that the sweet potato, mushroom and brown rice turnover was spicy, because nothing led me to that conclusion when I ordered the item. Some may have found the spiciness a pleasant surprise, but I didn’t. I found both turnovers lacking in flakiness, good, but not excellent.

Cute lil spot with healthy and delicious options. Of course, the guava cheese puff was sold out by the time I got there. Prices are reasonable and portions are satisfying. The masala chai was quite yummy. The seating is spacious with enough social distance to relax and eat in a shaded airy outdoor space. The savory kale pastry with red sauce was hearty and good, though I would spice it up a bit. Definitely need to come back for the guava puffs!

I always tip fairly, yet this place doesnt trust its customers to make that decision for themselves and adds the gratuity. I was surprised at the total and looked in vein for a sign to tell me what percent was added. I still dont know. Isnt that illegal? After I spent over twenty bucks here, I went and fed myself elsewhere.I live here. Im not rich enough to be going back.

Hey love this place but it takes way too long and they don’t have an organized system. Seems like the employees r really great people but just a little spacey. They messed up my order multiple times, and sold me 2-3 things that they were ‘out of for the day’.I had already ordered and paid for the items.

The breakfast tacos are delicious. We ordered the bacon tacos, a sausage roll and the banana bread. I love how efficient they are and the safety precautions they’ve taken with covid. The tacos are so tasty, you’ll only need two because they are super filling. Can’t wait to return to try the coffee.

Consistently great spot for years. Nice small bites savory and sweet. Good coffee. If you arent familiar with the juice they sell called Natalies Fresh Squeezed Juices they actually arent fresh juices at all. Rather they are fully boiled aka pasteurized juices which was disappointing bc the word fresh is misleading. Still love the place just wont get the juice.

Discovered this super cute cafe our first morning in New Orleans. Super close walk from our Airbnb, it was charming, welcoming and perfect. The fact that their coffee is top notch, and the breakfast food items to die for, is all an added bonus. Lots of intellects, hipsters, musicians, artists, animal lovers, a beautifully diverse crowd of friendly folks.Do yourselves a favour and try their toasts! Had a spinach ricotta toast with slivered almonds, blackberries & a lavender-infused honey drizzle. It was AMAZING!!

I love my neighborhood coffee shop 💕 They’re the best and I swear I’m not bias even though I did leave today with a freshly baked cookie (okay, maybe a little 😭🥰😂).Honestly, there shouldn’t be any debate; you should definitely stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.Oh, and they’re also in the process of becoming a worker’s co-op coffee shop! So why wouldn’t you want to support that?!

This is just a teeny little place with only outdoor seating. They do have some cover, but if it’s raining hard you may get wet. Besides that. No alcohol. There are some good options for vegans as well.

Sheesh! Just consumed a bacon breakfast taco from Pagoda Cafe and my life feels complete for once. This is hands down one of the best breakfast tacos Ive ever had in my life. Every element was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I dont even know if Im comfortable simply calling this place a restaurant- because its a performing arts hall. This food is art. Interesting eats. My husband and I stood in line for 30 minutes only to get up to the door and see that they did not have the hometown, classic lousiana food we were expecting. They serve most dishes with tofu and there was sparcly anything we ended up wanting to eat. We got a breakfast taco, which was good but we had to wait another 15 minutes for. If you are looking for home cooking, this is not your place. If you are looking for a quick bite this is not your place. All outdoor seating.

This is a complete rewrite of a formerly somewhat positive review. After mostly avoiding this place due to long lines, slow service, just ok coffee and tiny but pricey food portions, I decided to give it another whirl the other morning as it is literally the closest coffee shop to my house and we were out of our house supply.I walked my small dog over there and for the first time noticed signs around the place saying please dont block the entry with bikes and/or dogs. By entry, they mean the rail leading up to the patio, not the actual doorway. For those who havent been here, the service line runs past a kitchen behind the counter and theres a small space going in one door and out the other to order food. The doors are always open because you cant fit more than four or five people in that space at a time so the space extends to the sidewalk outside. There was one customer in front of me and when I went to order a coffee with my dog in my arms, the cashier said, no dogs in here.So I tied my dog literally one foot behind me just outside the door (no way Im tying her out of sight) and got my coffee and left.I believe its every the right of every business to make their own rules (barring human discrimination, of course), but for a place thats outside (seating, doors open etc) to go out of their way to discourage dog owners (and cyclists!) seems foolish to put it mildly. There is no law stating dogs must remain outside in coffee shops on New Orleans. Fair Grinds up the street doesnt bat an eye at dogs in there and they have closed doors and air conditioning. This place is just bossy for no reason and so I will continue to skip right by and walk the extra few pleasant blocks to Fair Grinds from now on. Their coffee and service are both far and away better anyway.Dog Lovers Unite!

Pagoda is great! Great food: I highly recommend the Indian Banh Mi sandwich, the sausage rolls, and the coffee. Good lord the iced coffee is amazing. Its crazy strong, but soooo smooth. I usually dump a lot of half & half in my coffee, but I dont really feel the need at Pagoda. The iced coffee (with no sugar added!) tastes a lot like a very dark, dark chocolate bar.The staff here is great! They always take great care of their customers and each other. They raise a lot of money for charity, whether is for the community (like recent weather related disasters) or for a former staff member who was injured. Its wonderful seeing them put part of their profit aside to help people out!Plus, look at their cold drinks!

The taco was both affordable and good. A great blend of potatoes, eggs, and bacon with a great green salsa for dipping. My wife got the mango chia seed pudding and it was dope. If theres two of you, just get two types of tacos (they have tofu too) and one of those puddings and be delightful by sharing it. Enjoy! I would love to go back in a couple days. The only reason Im not giving this 5 stars because they lacked organic options. Roasted local coffee, greens from a local place also gets props, and bread from a local place (although extremely easy to do if you want good food which they have) are all winners. But I hope for local meats and organic anything.

They took my name down incorrectly and were extremely rude when Joey would not come get his drinks, continuing to scream JOEY YOUR DRINKS ARE ON THE COUNTER.. When I went to find out where my food/drinks were, they were incredibly rude about the mix up as if it was my fault. At that point my drinks were cold and they walked away before I could ask for them to be warmed up. Zero class and absolutely no reason to act that way toward a customer. Would not recommend.

Walk up and standing room only in the Pagoda, which is great when the weather is nice, but when its raining a total drag. Beautiful seating area with tons of shade and great views. My favorites are in the always menu with their mango chia cup and the guava cream cheese puffs. If you want something more savory, their menu is expansive and guaranteed not to disappoint. Also while I adore their cold brew they do have an espresso machine and know how to use it. Be careful wwhen you go the lines can be outrageously long and not worth more than 15 minutes unless you want to stays in the area. Try to go before the rush.
