Really down homey spot! Lots of little alcoves and character and games and books, and dog friendly! This is like going to your hippie dad’s cabin in the woods for some old fashioned coffee pot coffee and a good conversation.Always music, which is great unless you wanna concentrate (to write or think) as it is a music venue. Also, a bit of a younger crowd when I went (high school age), all polite but not quite what I’m looking for in my mid-30’s.Still I’ll def check it out again

Basically if someone turned their house into a coffee shop. Usually has live music and is very very chill. They offer drinks and snacks. Boardgames a plenty and artwork all over the walls. Check out Sunday nights for open mic night. This has been my go to spot for so long I remember when it had a hooka room.

This place is my favorite spot in New Orleans, its the coolest coffee place Ive been to here. Its an old school coffee shop with couches all around the place, super cozy and they have the coolest barista. They even have a really cool tea room, and they have live music at night most of the time, usually local young musicians and bands. The coffee is pretty decent but the looks and atmosphere of the place is so unique and friendly. Its honestly the one place I recommend to everyone in New Orleans.

Outstanding! Our favorite secret find in New Orleans. A small, unpretentious venue where anyone can play and sing. Just put your name on the sign-up sheet to secure a time slot and youre the star of the show. Great coffee bar adds to the funky decor and overall cool vibe.

You go here for the music and not the drinks. The $5 hot chocolate is Swiss Miss from a packet prepared with a hot water heater. I didnt try the coffee but I can only assume its a similar deal. The dessert is apparently good according to the people I went with.

One of the best cafes Ive ever been to. Im never leaving. Im hiding somewhere in the floorboards. Toilet paper is not an issue because the pawns are the perfect shape to plug holes. 2 dollar coffee cant be beat by anything you throw at it, and neither can comfy couches, nooks, open mikes, or the street lice I dragged in from a 9th ward flop house and rubber all over the cushions.

Closing up when I got there (11pm) because the musical acts were done for the night but that makes sense. Vibe seemed really laid back and nice, would like to go back during the day while theyre open.

The only place to hear acoustic music in New Orleans. I know. Isnt that pathetic? Its supposed to be a music capital, but thats really just for jazz, funk, Dixieland, etc. Anyway, its a coffee house with live music. I expected a little more variety in the coffee and baked goods, but I came for the music. Its an oasis.

This is my place of places to go and chill and hang out. Its open from 7pm to midnight every night. The only time it closes is New Years or is it - yeah New Years eve. But this place you can be who you are. No pretense. Tucked in the covey of uptown on Danneel Street which is between St. Charles and Freret Street is the place for musicians to play before a live audience. Caveat - sometimes you have to bring your own crowd. But if you promote your show - theyll pass the tip basket around and you could make a few dollars for the night. Every musician thats worth their salt has booked a show there. Allain Touissaint played there before his untimely death. Now on Sundays there is an open mic. Its the longest running Open Mic in the south. Now there is no alcohol which makes it a great place for recovering alcoholics to enjoy a nightlife.

Dont leave New Orleans without visiting Neutral Ground. There arent many places this cool, places where you say Wow when you see the decor. But it just gets better from there. The food is Wikid Awesome and the people are just cool. Theres nothing stale or corporate about NG; its for humans, artists, music lovers, and, oh yeah… coffee hounds.Neutral Ground defines the word,Welcome.

Old wooden plank walls, comfy sofas and good coffee, what more can a modern beatnik bohemian ask for, oh yea, live music an poetry, check. If you like just hanging at a friends comfy couch, drinking coffee floats and wishing you were high so inspiration would hit your repressed genius, then this is the place for you.
