Travel back in time at this hip yet cozy coffee shop. Eccentric decoration in & outside. Edgy clientele, always seem happy to be here. Very welcoming place, you can spend hours. They have homemade pastries and deserts. Really tasty stuff. Their coffees are good too. All in all, great place to hang out anytime of the day.

Adorable cafe with a hip grit jungle vibe that I was obsessed with! I only grabbed some bakery items each of which were delicious-lava cake, macadamia nut cookie and king cake. The baristas here are incredibly friendly too. The atmosphere gives a very welcoming and local energy that radiates safety too.

Cafe Flora is so much more than a coffee shop -- its a gathering place for the neighborhood where bonds are formed and relationships kindled. Ali, the owner, is always around, talking to everyone, getting to know you, hosting bat-gammon tournaments. The coffee is cheap and good. The space is filled with crafts from local artists and an old upright piano where youll occasionally here someone trilling out a tune. This isnt your spic-and-span, modern coffee shop where you breeze in and out and instagram about it, this is a true, authentic, New Orleans coffee house where you while away the humid hours talking to anyone who is around you, telling stories, soaking in life. I am grateful for this coffee shop!

Quaint place where the cat is king. Neighborhood café off the beaten tourist path. Everything seemed homemade. Brownies & cookies looked great. The cappuccino was ok, not more, but there was still something about this place. The clientele looked to be ranging from hippie to vegan-hipster. Everyone was friendly and it was a laid back place with wifi.

Cafe Flora will forever hold a special place in my heart. I use to spend hours in here years ago essentially turning the place into my office. The food is simple and delicious, the coffee is AMAZING, and the staff know how to make it all perfectly. The place use to be cash only but I THINK takes cards now.I love meeting up with friends here for a quick bite to eat and to catch up.This place has ultimately not changed, I still feel like I can sit and spend hours here and enjoy every minute of it.

This is really a cozy coffee shop and cafe. The place is really charming, old board games, a piano, posters about local issues. We had the pesmesto bagel, a burrito, and a coffee, and everything was delicious. If youre visiting New Orleans its a little out the way of the French Dostrict but the area is far more relaxed and feels authentic. We found this place by accident when walking back to our place one night, but were really glad we did.

Good Coffee. Tasty breakfast sandwiches, funky NOLA hangout space, table tops have cool tile designs, games & books to grab. Peasant staff. There is some ceramic work by a local artist for sale. The place could be cleaner without losing too much character - so they should work on that.

Ive been going here since almost the day it opened (1995?). If you are visiting from out of town, it will definitely feel a bit rough around the edges. The place is very left of center. While you might think some of the regulars are planning the revolution (I think they are), they are some of the nicest folks in town. They built a Starbucks not too far away if thats more you cup of coffee. The Ethiopian roast is there best imo.The breakfast food is my favorite. Sometimes I ask for a curry veggie burito add sausage. Yum! Some of the sweets are just from Sams, they still taste good.

They dont have a huge selection of food. Its a great place popular with those in the neighborhood. An eclectic crowd of artists, and involved community members. This coffee house has an overwhelming abundance of the indefinable spirit which New Orleans is known for. Whenever I end up here, even when fed up and ready to leave the city, this place feels like the home I would never leave. Talented randoms grace patrons ears with their skills on ivory while people sip eat and write. I remember first coming here on the night of Chubauccus and thinking I wanted to write here, that I finally found a public space in which I could write, the likes of which greats scratched out their first drafts.

Funky place. The staff could not care less about patron satisfaction or happiness- that is except for the rather tall man serving the coffee and taking orders. He was nice. The décor is shabby without the chic. The staff was too worried about appearing hip and aloof to care about service and forget about a welcoming smile or genuine, connective human feeling. I was served a typical American egg breakfast and my relatives both ate breakfast burritos. All very uninspired and absolutely no better than I prepare at home; although I put some effort into making my plated product pretty. Coffee was good and plentiful on the positive side. The interior itself was drab and frankly dingy and dirty appearing. I felt like tipping them with a can of paint and brush. Anyway with so many fantastic places to eat in NOLa I cant imagine us returning here.

Great, Cheers like coffee shop! Superb mixtures of people and personalities, wonderful comfort foods, with a weekly backgammon club for the head strong math types. I felt at home the moment I was greeted by a kind heart from behind the case of sinful sweet treats. The home like atmosphere is decorated with colorful faces of Mardi Gras and the occasional curious orange feline who seems to prefer her coffee on the go.The mellow spirits in this place are delighted to embrace its visitors with aromas of fresh brewed coffees and accommodations for the Peppermint or Green tea types like myself. Dont be surprised if you hear Paul Simon or Etta James in the distant background. If you are looking for a place of solace and serenity, take seat and have a chat. If youre looking to brag about your stocks and yachts, heck youre welcome as well! As the late great Don Cornelius would say Love Peace and Soul.

Double my stars.. Great place for coffee AND amazing food. This is the longest review Ive ever written, but they are worth but.Was really surprised the 1st time I ate here (though had been a bunch of times prior for coffee). Wow, such a chill coffee shop with super well made eats! Love the chilli, buritto, soup, and the burgers that are encased in soft pretzelly kind of dough (not 100% how to describe) has to be one of the best edible things you can eat - in the world. On top of all that, the people are great, very friendly, and make you feel at home - like a family member.Another thing... Music out if nowhere.. sometimes a person will walk up the the old upright piano and begin playing - from moderate skills to professional, all are welcome (never heard chop-sticks - which is a good thing). Maybe someone will start singing a tune.. with or without accompyment. And on a chilly or cold day, grab a table next to the fireplace! What else can I say.. other than youre really missing something if you havent tried one of my favourite places in New Orleans. Great coffee, great meals, great atmoshere, and great people by.Its right across the street from MiMis, in the Marigny.
