UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW - I need to upgrade my review from a 1 star to a 4 star because I have been in contact with the owner of this cafe due to our experience on our first visit. The food and atmosphere are A-1! Excellent! For that, I give an absolute 5 star. I am only leaving off 1 star because we did have a miserable dining experience. However, the owner and management have taken care of the problem and fixed it in a BIG, BIG way! For that, I sincerely thank them and appreciate it! Now, I can highly recommend anyone to dine at this charming and absolutely delicious cafe! I can assure you that my experience will not be repeated on anyone, and I would also visit there again, if ever in the area. Hats off to THE BEST customer service EVER!!!
First time in New Orleans one of the reasons we came here was for the famous Beignets! They were really good while we were in we also enjoyed breakfast along with Coffee! The breakfast bagel was a little to oily but delicious. The atmosphere was nice, the only thing I would change is to have clean tables ready for people to sit and enjoy! Other then that it’s a pretty busy little gem!!
They checked your vaccination card and once your cleared you sit in a well lit and pleasant Cafe which is partially indoors and they have seats outside. The beignets were made to order and were very good for my first time trying them. They also had other desserts and a variety of fresh fruit cups. I loved the atmosphere and decor!
More like 0 stars FOOD POISONING!!! Stopped here to grab a Turkey sandwich for a quick bite while I was in NOLA a week ago. Had a few bites and it tasted off, so I threw it away. Within 30 minutes, I was hit with the worst food poisoning of my entire life. I was violently puking 2-3 times an hour for several hours, and was unable to leave my hotel room for 24 hours or eat anything for 3 days.I didn’t have anything else to eat that day, so it was definitely the sandwich. No Mayo on the sandwich, so it must have been the meat. My husband, a restaurant GM, spoke to his chef and kitchen staff and they think the meat slicer wasn’t cleaned correctly. Apparently it’s very easy to get very sick if the slicer isn’t cleaned thoroughly. Or maybe they just used rotten deli meat. Whatever it was, it ruined my trip and made the trip home miserable.
I’m so sad to give 2 stars but this is based on what I’ve ordered. The place is beautiful with a really nice ambience. My partner and I have been craving French toast so we order it with a latte, the latte tasted good but avoid ordering the French toast, other people been ordering sandwiches and omelets they looked good but our French toast it taste as it looks, simply bad choice and $8.99 they definitely can do a better job!
Everything-- food, staff, all was great. More intimate and quaint than the larger location. Found by accident this visit but Ill seek it out again next time. :)
When in Nola.. you have to try Beignets... its only right. Very nice place. Seated quickly... they serve breakfast ALL DAY.. had the mushroom omelette. So good. My food came with a side of grits and a french toast toppef with butter and thyme(i think) it was toasted to sheer perfection. Good food. Nice environment... the beignets now were soft, fluffy and the perfect amount of sugar.... what a way to start the day in Nola.
Great stop on the trip! The beignets were great!! Hot fresh and not nearly the amount of commotion or line at the typical shop people visit. I honestly found the taste and quality of these to be better than the competition. The coffee was delicious and service was fast and friendly. You are also not herded along but given time to enjoy your food. Cute interior with a quaint setting. Stop here, Alton Brown is rarely wrong!
I arrived around 10:30 am on a Friday and the line was about 15 minutes long. It was a rainy day so inside seating was wanted and thankfully I was able to get one. The staff was friendly and the service was relatively quick. The beignets were good but nothing out of this world...I would recommend going though because it is part of the NOLA experience. I definitely enjoyed the breakfast sandwich for sure.
A favorite place of mine when I visit New Orleans. There are four of these cafes in NOLA but this is the only one I have visited so far. The various coffees are great, as are the pastries. The food is top-notch at very reasonable prices and the staff are friendly. The last time I visited there was a singer/guitarist entertaining the patrons. Highly recommended from breakfast to supper time.
Cool little hole in the wall cafe. Blink, and youll miss it. It has a unique ambience and vibe to it. The beignets were delicious. The prices were very reasonable compared to other places we ate. Fun experience. You should definitely try it.
A little pricey as it’s more of a tourist restaurant but the breakfast was decent and beignets were delicious and fresh. Very strong coffee so beware if that’s not your preference. I wish we had more grits with our meal and that my plate of breakfast was hotter but other than that it was worth visiting.
Beautiful place, the lady that took our order, (short lady, black hair, really young) she completely got our order wrong and not just ours but the person in front of us as well, when they gave if the food and we told her but she kind of got upset. Beautiful place, food was okay but service.... they need someone that can handle the amount of customers that they have.
The overnight security guy at our hotel suggested Cafe Beignet over the other beignet place. They open at 7, and there was a short line at 655am. They have a full menu, the grits are creamy and the bacon thick. I preferred the Americano with creamer and sweetener added at the bar to the typical coffee and milk drink that is so popular in NOLA. My husband said the beignet were terrific.
I know this place has great reviews and I would like to give it five stars, but I was underwhelmed. The beignets were good, but I only ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich, and it took a ridiculously long time to get it even though I was the only one in the whole restaurant. The coffee was given to me first, it was mediocre at best, and cold. I didnt get a sense of pride from the people at the front, and they were only going through the motions of providing service. What I did love was the wonderful outside seating, very reminiscent of Europe, which is where I mostly live.
The second star is because the servers were kind. The beignets were raw on the inside, the omelette was flavourless, the grits tasted like mucus, and the bread was so stale. I do not understand these four- and five-star reviews, nor do I understand why the line is so long. I never write Google reviews, but I feel badly for all of the tourists being misled by the high rating.
Been twice with my wife in two days and everything has been fantastic! Not too busy both days and everyone here is just so nice and professional! Will recommend to anyone and everyone!
The beignets were ok. The veggie burger would have been SUPER delicious if it came with any sauce. Great service, good location.
The place for the best beignet. Had great service and received order quickly
Day 2 and breakfast here at this location. My first time dining at this location. I got the Cajun Hash Browns that were homestyle potatoes, andouille sausage, bell pepper, and red onion. This had scrambled eggs and French toast. Of course I had to add beignets and Cafe Au Lait. Great breakfast and staff. Great location. Highly recommend. I personally liked the beignets better than Cafe Du Monde.
The beignets are amazing! Covered in powered sugar and fluffy, airy and sweet! There are several locations in the French quarter including one on Canal street!I would for sure recommend trying some while in NOLA. While I can’t compare to the famous Cafe Dumont due to line being to long, I can say they are the best I have had so far! With the line being shorter due to more locations then Cafe Dumont is easier for you to try this NOLA staple. Now the other food was hit or miss. I got the chicken salad croissant and it was ok. You could tell the chicken salad was fresh but not a lot of flavor. My boyfriend got the traditional breakfast and was very disappointed. The ice coffee was amazing but that’s what I expected with coffee being a NOLA staple and the Bloody Mary was perfect for morning recovery.I would recommend trying this place out if your in the area!
The gumbo had an excellent amount of spice and the beignets were delicious.
The best beignets in the French quarter hands down. Sorry cafe du monde but everything about this place is amazing. Shorter lines and faster service but not so fast to where you would think it’s a grab and go type of feeling. The beignets are just so fluffy and delicious. Oh and the bourbon croissant Sandwhich was amazing as well.
Im really neither here nor there about it. If youve never been definitely stop in, its cute. Itll probably be packed youll probably be standing in line but its always fun to try all the different beignets around town.
Coffee and food were great. Hailey, the terrible, whom works at this location..gave us the worst service and attitude weve ever had. We came in 15 mins to closing time. Like we knew when they closed and she yelled, we close in 10 mins.Hailey yelled at the counter at what coffee she didnt have and her manager pulled her away from the counter, because of her rudeness to us and others.. So, when we sat down to enjoy our food and drinks. She slammed the metal chairs onto the table tops, with the force of Ida. Yelled again that she was closed and tolus to leave. As we were outside trying to finish our food she threw the hose between the fence and threaten to hose us if we didnt move from the sidewalk.I asked if she was okay, as her behavior was very manic, rude and mean. She called me some choice words and ended with calling me a Karen. I asked a co-worker, if she was okay and they said she does this all the time! There were other tourists as well as a tour bus and my group. Whom she displayed this horrible behavior towards and we all left and will never recommend your Cafe to anyone because of Hailey the terribile! Nor ever come back.
This place is a local gem, in all honesty it might even be better than Cafe Du Monde. The coffee is good and the beignets are not over sugared with clumps of powdered sugar. The Cafe itself is very cute and totally worth the stop! Price wise it is JUST more expensive than the other Cafe but you get what you pay for!
Amazing delicious! Long line but definitely worth the wait!
One block from our hotel and the beignets and coffee was perfect! Sunday morning bliss. Girls here have us great service and little gardenia a great hidden spot.
This was exactly what you would expect of a New Orleans eatery. Fast service, freshly made goods, and a personal touch on fan favorites.I had the Jambalaya and it was delicious. They didnt skimp on the meat which was nice (I hate when people fluff it up with extra rice so it looks like you are getting more)The beignet was plump and served very fresh (too hot to handle immediately) so be careful! Once cooled they were very delectable.
Great little place with a very cute yard. We weren’t sure if we could bring our furry baby inside but the waitress were super friendly and even brought out a water bowl for her! Food was quick and delicious- we ordered jambalaya, muffalette, and beignet which were all great, no too salty or greasy, very refreshing and perfect for a lunch break after a long walk in the district.
Really yummy place to stop. Different that Cafe de monde..but super tasty and good drink options.
We absolutely loved this place!!!! The atmosphere was amazing and the coffee and beignets were delicious!!!!! We will Definately come back here!!!
Yummy beignets in a cute little cafe. Line isn’t usually long and personally enjoyed these better than Du Monde.
Hot fresh beignets. The best in town.
The beignets were worth the wait! I would definitely go back the next time I visit NOLA!!
What else can I say but, delicious.
Friendly service. Great food. The line is long in the morning, though shorter later in the day
Loved this little cafe! Great service, excellent food, and cozy environment. A definite must-stop when visiting the French Quarter.
Clasic breakfast ..great food and pastries..I recommend it.
Love the place it was right down the street from the hotel where I was staying I went there every morning
Beignets were delicious. Customer service was very nice from the time we entered until the time we left. Good iced coffee also
Lines where too long. Seating inside is limited. Thank goodness we found a table before the rain started. We shared our table with another group. Beignet where ok. A little thick for my taste. But enjoyed the experience.
Best beignet Ive ever eaten the hype is 💯% true
Great muffaletta & the best beignets!
Beautiful little café with delicious Beignets and coffee. We will be back for more 🔥Follow me on IG @Marianto15 💖
This place wasnt bad, much cheaper than other nearby places for breakfast. Beignets were great but the veggie omelet was a little bland. Portions were small as well, but thats probably just because of the price. Gets an extra star because the beignets are really good.
Cozy place delicious food. You have to go here
The coffee and beignets were excellent. We enjoyed all the little sparrows in the courtyard looking for bread crumbs. Very pleasant breakfast.
