Never shall I visit NOLA and not make a stop at one of my favorite places there. I am so excited this company was resuscitated! I was completely devastated when the old store across the city closed, but look what happens with a lot of grinding and praying. The Garden District is the perfect place to revive a great establishment with the very best cupcakes and macaroons...EVER! How does one get them to look so perfect -- great recipes and magnificent skill! 5-stars all the way around!
On the last day in New Orleans we came across this beautiful Jewel on the magazine street. I was with my kids and I enjoyed every second I spend there. The place was very clean, The staff was very helpful and courteous & There was a lot of variety to choose from. We tried almost everything except for the ice cream, the lavender London fog was different. The vibe in this place was very happy and positive. I will definitely be visiting this place on my next trip.
Beautifully designed building with a great atmosphere! The times I visited the place was pretty chill, not super crowded. The staff were very nice, professional, and helpful. If youre a brownie lover, you must try theirs. It is thick, rich, and tastes like chocolate gouache. Its wonderful!Ive also tried a macaroon, pistachio Gelato, and their lattes and it was all pretty tasty!
High quality delicious chocolates!I ordered a box of their chocolates and they were delicious! The flavors are impeccably done- delicate, complex, distinct. The box included all of the flavors pictured on the card except the Avery (salted caramel) - I wish this had been included, but I guess it just gives me more reason to keep this shop on my list to stop by when in town. The chocolates are also very pretty (but different/hard to match to the pictures on the flavor card). I definitely recommend!
Carrot was to crumbly and dry. The eclair was good but small. The espresso was strong but very bitter. The store was nice and clean but to Yuppy for us down home types.
The little bites of heaven here are a must have when in NOLA. The delicate chocolates not only have big flavor but are gorgeously crafted. And dont let me forget to mention the superb customer service! Rita is top notch. She is very knowledgeable and speaks passionately about all the products available. I highly recommend Sucré!
Just as good as it ever was! They do tend to sell out more now than they did before, but that just shows that they are still quality and popular.Im not a huge fan of the lack of open pricing, but most of their options are similarly priced. Given the sourcing of their ingredients, a high price is justified.
Gorgeous bakery. Their pastries are high art! They also have tasty gelato, and the atmosphere is lovely. Must try if youre in New Orleans.
We love this store! Delicious luxury treats in a gorgeous modern boutique, with excellent service. The mango sorbet and blackberry macarons are my childrens special favorites. Great coffee as well!
I cant have refined sugar and to my surprise they had an absolute delicious and creamy raspberry sorbet. Im sure all their other ice cream options are great too. Thanks for having a sugar free option. The late with cashew milk was yum as well.
Fantastic desserts! I was warned that a little goes a long way before I got there and I’m glad I listened. The food is rich and satisfying. It’s a great place to stop after a spicy dinner.
I ordered a Sucre Confetti Cake for a special occasion. It looked AMAZING but tasted just fat and sugar (worse than a generic Rouses cake), and was 60$. None of my guests finished their slice. Cant recommend :(
Great gelato and the macrons are excellent in flavor and making worth the walk to get one
I had the Lemon olive oil berry cake and it was absolutely delicious I couldn’t put my fork down! Also the cake wasn’t super sweet and all the flavors tasted good together. The quality of the dessert is worth the prices plus the shop is adorable. If you ever in the area stop by.
Just tried the specialty chocolates and they exceeded all of my expectations! Highly recommend
This place is super busy so be prepared! The staff is great and getting the lines down quickly though. My favorite is the coconut basil sorbet! This one is dairy-free and there are a few other flavors here.It is definitely pricey but could be way worse!!Enjoy :)
Went in here with my boyfriend for first time ever. He’s been here before but I haven’t. The ice cream was delicious but their policies during covid are questionable. I wore my mask as we all have to, the woman working behind the counter offered me a sample to taste (I already knew what I wanted didn’t even ask) I lifted my mask up to take a bite and she told me the mask had to stay over my face while tasting it. I just looked at her weird. Threw the sample out and she tried to hand me another one. I didn’t understand this logic at all. I let my boyfriend just order what I wanted so we could get out of thereThe only reason I gave them 3 stars is because it was good. But I’ve never been anywhere to eat where they require you to leave your mask on while eating.
Nice atmosphere to relax & enjoy a cup of coffee with a delicious pastry. The service was excellent as well.
Fantastic little gelato place in the garden district.... Read through the negative reviews, they are a good laugh. Personable, helpful staff. Delicious brownies and gelato!
The best dessert place, I had ever been . The gelato was amazing . They also have amazing dessert which is to die for. The place is cute and nice . The service is excellent . They also sell chocolates, coffee powder and candied pecans . Must try if in New Orleans . We tried the all new Nola, raspberry dessert ( it was foodgasm) and macarons.
Great place with lovely upscale feel & very helpful staff. Not cheap, but very reasonable prices given the gourmet quality. Delicious gelato.
The s’mores dessert and chocolate eclair with vanilla bean custard filling were delicious! The chocolate quality of the desserts was luxuriously delicious, but I can’t say the same for the chocolat chaud. I was disappointed that the small hot chocolate was only 9oz for $5 of powered hot chocolate, try the cappuccino or another dessert instead.
We were staying about 2 blocks from Sucre while we were visiting NOLA and let me tell you, everything there is so delicious that we went back a second time to try other desserts. We had gelato the first time and then the s’mores cake the second time. Everything is so beautiful and delicious and the staff is so kind and helpful. I highly recommend visiting this bakery while in New Orleans!
I would give Sucré four stars more because of the presentation than the actual taste. All of their pastries are beautiful - you almost dont want to eat them. My friends and I got an eclair and smores to share. The eclair was very good. It was light and not overwhelmingly sweet. The smores were only good for the first two bites. After that, it was too decadent. It was served with your choice of a scoop of ice cream. We chose toasted almond, which would have been good on its own - but paired with rich chocolate cake, drizzled with chocolate, and topped with marshmallow, it was way too much.Im not a big sweets person but if I was ever looking for a gift for someone with a sweet tooth, Sucré would definitely be a huge contender.
If you wanna satisfy your cravings for sweets come to Sucre! The staff is wonderful and they have a nice selection of desserts and most importan of all, the macarons!!I got the butter toast, caramel eclair, vanilla croissant, and chocolate cake. The mini desserts came with a delicious ice cream. We also got a box of macarons for free!#dessert #neworleans #nolaeats
Love the place. Everything looks shining and sweet. I wish I had enough appetite trying all the things they placed, but I just had a big meal before I entered in. Everything is worth trying from cupcake to chocolate to macaron. They also have great varieties of gelato, not the best gelato Ive ever had in states, but it wont prevent me giving five stars in my review.
Very pretty place! Fast service that meets the demand of high volume customers. I’m not sure what I got but I paid about $22. I think we’re paying for the place versus the snacks etc., but whatever lol. I definitely recommend it especially due to its location on Magazine.
My general impression from a visit of this aesthetically pleasing establishment is style with less substance. As noted, the storefront is lovely and the wait staff are also very cordial and welcoming. The desserts themselves are enticingly decorated. Unfortunately, the decorations mask somewhat disappointing flavors. We got the bread pudding, a shake, and the smores skillet. Although well presented, both were bland and overpriced. I am willing to pay quite a lot of money for a good dessert but this didnt really cut it. Sucre seems like a great place to take children who will undoubtedly delight in the pretty setting. As far as more adult tastes with less of a penchant for instagrammable desserts, I would personally look elsewhere.
Great atmosphere and best sweets in nola, my local staple! must visit spot on any given day!
Great place. In the touristy Magazine St stroll.Great desserts, Gelato, macaroons, and all kinds of other high end, high calorie, goodies.I had 2 scoops of Gelato. One was coconut/basil. It had the barest hint of sweet basil in a mild coconut flavor. Very tasty in both a light dessert and savory way.The other Gelato I had was hazelnut chocolate. Nice mild hazelnut flavor on a light chocolate base. The girl who would be my girlfriend had 2 scoops also. Peppermint on dark chocolate w/ fudge sauce. She says its Yum..Its she also says its...$$$Expensive !! (She paid, lol).Beautiful display cases full of delicious looking macaroons, cakes, cookies, Gelato, and other sweets.Clean, inviting place.
Decent desserts and treats. Something about Sucre really confused me though. They only offer their food in take-out boxes and offer plastic spoons due to covid, which is understandable. What isnt is what I witnessed while eating which was a customer being given a cupcake she had bought on a plate and metal utensils to eat it with. I do not understand why this customer was given better treatment then most and I would love an explanation.
Wow! Delicious! This place is spotless! It doesn’t smell like nasty watered down bleach. I watched someone spray clean the lower half and bottom part of table which is the first time I’ve actually seen this happen during COVID!
Beautiful displays. All staff except lady serving ice cream, seemed unhappy to be there. Took quite awhile for any of them to offer to help us. They were restocking pastries & while brining a plastic tub of eclairs from the back, a staff member coughed over them. Needless to say, I quickly changed my mind about buying any pastries. We bought a box with 2 of several different kinds of chocolates. The chocolates were nice. Good textures & nice flavor profiles & flavor development in most. We almost went with ice cream since the lady serving it was the only nice, helpful staff member, but our plan was to get deserts to try for later & the ice cream wouldnt have lasted til we got it to a feezer.
Coffee and pastries were perfection. This place has such a cute and sweet ambiance. Sucre will be at the top of my list of places to visit when in New Orleans!
Beautiful display of desserts. So much shiny edible glitter, gold, and colors! Love at first sight!Tried the macarons and they were presented so beautifully. The taste of some of them are a hit or miss though. (depends on your preference) My favorites have to be the chocolate ones (including chocolate covered one...it tastes like a brownie), strawberry and salted caramel. Yum! I will definitely be back to try the other desserts!
Drove all the way over here and they were closed an hour early.
Everybody Should Visit This Place. I Definitely Enjoyed It.
Misleading hours of operation details. They close at 8pm not 9m. This needs to be updated. Took an Uber to the establishment and wasted time and money.
Very good customer service and everything looks and tastes amazing
Expensive but well worth the price when you have that sweet tooth. I wish I could have made it back another time while my stay I n New Orleans. I didnt want to eat all the things at one time but it was so good I could have. The selection was grand especially because I can be picky about desserts. A must for any trip to NOLA.
Bought a tropicale and cafe glacé (coffee & ice cream). Totally recommend stopping into this cute clean shop!
Very clean.. Great ice cream/ Gelato.
Omg!!! King Cake macaroons! Need I say more? 🎤Mic drop! Sweet lil place with some beautiful pastries! Macaroons, macaroons and more macaroons! BUT thats not all that they have! Gelato, a variety of chocolate pastries and refreshments. All in all, great service, with a great staff. Super sweet boutique w/ excellent pastries! Every time I came into town I missed coming here!! I def will be back!
Traditional dessert eatery. Chocolate cup thats was very moist, icing was perfect as well.
The brownie was large and very good, but the chocolate pear was outstanding.
The best treats! Their crepes and bread pudding are to die for, and the aesthetics of the location is gorgeous.
Food was nice, great vibe, staff seemed miserable and didn’t communicate well so my cafe au lait got lost in the queue.
They are always polite and friendly. The macarons are divine. Everyone was wearing their mask. It was a pleasant experience.
Very cute top notch employees super nice
Absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly.
This dessert haven is a must visit on your trip to NOLA. We were looking for a sweet after dinner treat and we were not disappointed! The gelato flavors were unique and delicious, as were the macaroons. the almond cupcake with vanilla buttercream was to die for! We are cupcake folks and I have to say this was one of the best cupcakes we have ever eaten, like ever, ever! From the super spongy and moist cake (reminiscent to more of a muffin) to the decadent buttercream that was not overly sweet. We plan a second visit here before we head back home. Well worth the higher prices for sure. My 6 year old usually only eats the frosting on cupcakes but this time she was eating all the cake and frosting too. This is saying something, haha!
Clean, friendly, deserts were great. Loved the bread pudding desert!
Service was quick, King cakes in hand and no ticket or boot on the car, couldnt have asked for a better day, bestie has her king cake, we have ours.
Macarons and Gelato! What more is there to say! Always clean and quick!
Best macroon. Go there.
Wait...this is the place that gave no notice and employees showed up to locked door?? I do believe that they even welched out on paying the staff what they had been owed! This was a huge deal in the restaurant industry. Hundreds of people were hurt....!
Desserts are really pretty but were just super sweet and didnt taste like much else
Amazing and beautiful desserts, chic decor and personable staff.
