I would not recommend them to secure a dog house. There monitoring is trash. The customer service is trash and if you need a technician to come troubleshoot the non working alarm then you have to wait at least a week. Don’t waste your time or money

System goes down and I am told someone will be out to fix it 10 days later. Unacceptable! That was in August 2020. System out again. Called on 11/19, told someone would be out on 11/21 between 8am and noon. They dont show and when I call they say a time was never set for today. Next appointment is for 11/27. They wont show up. Worthless waste of money on this company that says theyre there for you 24/7/365!

Their automated system called me at 2:36am on a Sunday to let me know that my system failed to communicate during a system test and that I may need to contact them resolve the issue. This was completely inappropriate, considering that it was not an emergency. On the plus side, this was the nudge that I needed to finally switch to another company.

Watch out....I called Protection 1 to cancel my service 6 months ago when moving. They transferred me to an ADT salesperson who sent me an offer for a new system at the new house. They never cancelled the old service and when I discovered they were still drafting my account they would not back-date the cancellation, even though I had the correspondence with ADT (their partner). Then I finally get them to cancel it as of the day of the call and they cannot even produce a confirmation number.

So many problems with this company. Where to start.1. They couldnt ever seem to figure out who we wanted on our contact list in the event of a home invasion. After removing all contacts from the list (defeating the purpose), they still called former neighbors (old contacts) at 2 am when a battery went low on one window sensor. After removal of all contacts again, they looked up the previous owner of the house and started calling their contacts for simple things like a low battery warning. So annoying waking people up at 2 am for a low battery sensor.2. The smoke detector they installed never went off when our toaster oven caught on fire. Big flames lots of smoke. Fortunately, my husband threw the thing out the window before our house caught on fire.3. Now that were trying to cancel, first they said they needed one month prior notice to cancel. Then when we did that, four months later, they are still charging us and saying we never cancelled even after providing them proof of cancellation.Unreal.

Terrible scammy service and very rude over the phone. Protection 1 bought my previous security company and never informed me. Now harassing and saying I have to pay hundreds of dollars simply to cancel. Incredibly shady operation, very sad that this happened to USA Fire & Burglar, which used to be a local company. Now its some big national company that threatens its customers to try to get them to stay.Do not do business with Protection 1. There are plenty of other security options. Protection 1 is a scam and a ripoff and will waste your time. Pick a local company or a national firm thats more reputable.

Terrible customer service!! Use someone local. Customer service representative had a horrible attitude and was no help to us. We just moved into a rental and was trying to set up the alarm and was not given any help. After the phone call she had the audacity to call us back to address our rudeness. The customer is always right and should never be treated this way. I am very disappointed with the service.

Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from Protection 1... Very very Rude people and harassing me over their $20.69 mistake. I cancelled months ago and they insist a balance still due. I told them to have their customer service rep call me. Yep still waiting on that call!

$115 service charge for the first thirty minutes and $30 every fifteen minutes after just to move a wireless control panel from one wall to another Ridiculous!!!! Would not recommend this alarm company to anyone

Yeah, insisting on payment from a contract that was cancelled, and even the national customer service cant get them on the phone.
